We went in for a check-up related to my cat's diabetes, and it was hands-down the best vet experience we've ever had. The place is beautiful & clean, the staff are genuinely kind & patient, and the vet was amazing & thorough. They took their time explaining everything clearly and made sure all of my concerns were addressed. I didn't leave feeling rushed at all or with a million questions. The pricing here is also comparable to other vets in the Ames area. I am so grateful we found Boone Veterinary Hospital. We are fans for life! 馃挍馃惥

Apr 11, 2025 路 Melissa GreenMy beloved pets have been patients at BVH since we returned home to Boone in 2012 and I have nothing but praise and confidence in the care given to them. Being a retired RN, I am very particular as to the level of care my cats and dogs receive. And the staff meets my high requirements each time. Arlie J. Lowman received great care and treatment last week when he had his teeth and ears cleaned. THANK YOU!
Jan 12, 2025 路 Davi Mondt LowmanI鈥檝e brought my dogs to Dr. Liz for years, and I can鈥檛 say enough about the level of care and service she and her team provide. Recently, my dog had some complications, and Dr. Liz. made herself available at off hours to ensure he got the care he needed. Dr. Liz鈥檚 knowledge, expertise, and compassion truly set her apart. She took the time to explain all of the treatment options, with empathy and clarity. She completed the needed surgery and had great followup care. I always trust her to make the best decisions for my pet鈥檚 health. The entire team at the clinic is friendly, professional, and attentive. They always go above and beyond to make sure both pets and their owners feel supported and well-cared for. If you鈥檙e looking for a veterinarian who combines technical skill with heartfelt care, I can鈥檛 recommend Dr. Liz and her team highly enough. I鈥檓 so grateful for everything they鈥檝e done for my dogs and for the peace of mind they provide.
Jan 02, 2025 路 Gina McAndrewsDr. Liz McClure and all staff at Boone Vet have been so wonderful taking care of my Ava for the last 13 years. Through breast cancer, torn ACL, and a broken jaw, Dr. McClure and her team provided the best care. I am most appreciative of Boone Vet and Dr. McClure for the help they provided my father and Ava yesterday when she was found nearly unconscious. Unfortunately it was her time and my father made the decision that no one ever wants to make. Dr. McClure was off for the weekend but still found the time to come help Ava live her final moments in peace and with the guy she loved most. Although I am greatly saddened by the passing of my childhood dog, I am comforted knowing that Dr. McClure and the rest of Boone Vet had Ava and my father taken care of.
Oct 21, 2024 路 Steph WilsonI have two very different dogs, with very different needs. My 17 year old shih tzu, Tommy, regularly requires pain medication, and occasionally struggles with colitis. When he鈥檚 having a bad day, they鈥檙e always so amazing at getting us in as soon as they can. My other dog, Truman, is a giant wrecking ball and finds himself there frequently. They have seen him through skin infections, ear infections, ringworm, torn tendons, and several nail trims where it takes half the staff and a lot of treats to get it done. He absolutely loves Dr. Katie, and his rehabilitation specialist, Malorie. He鈥檚 a difficult guy to work with, but they have always been so compassionate towards him, and Tommy, and I appreciate that so much.
