We love Bond Vet in Chestnut Hill! Everyone on the staff is wonderful, but Dr. Jason is our favorite. He’s so kind and caring, and he took great care of our cat when she had a laceration that needed mending. We also love how easy it is to book on the Bond app, how responsive the team is if we have any questions, and the fact that we can make appointments for Saturdays. We highly recommend the team here!

May 23, 2025 · Amy CarlinoA few weeks ago, we brought our cat to Bond Vet because she had been chronically licking her stomach to the point of scabbing and bleeding. We had seen another vet previously, but their treatment didn’t help, so we were hopeful a second opinion might give us some answers. After examining her, the doctor told us he was 98% sure she had ringworm. He recommended we begin treatment right away, even though the diagnosis wouldn’t be confirmed until the fungal culture results came back. Wanting to help our cat, we agreed and spent a few hundred dollars on everything we needed. Unfortunately, a few days later we were informed that the fungal culture came back negative. We’re now back at square one—and understandably frustrated. If we hadn’t spent that money on a treatment that ultimately wasn’t necessary, we could have put it toward care that might actually help her. In hindsight, I wish we had waited for the test results before starting treatment. While I appreciate the urgency and the desire to act quickly, I would recommend that others consider holding off on costly treatments until a diagnosis is confirmed. I might’ve made a different choice if I had been better informed.

The gal (a vet? a tech?) who first helped me was running around like a chicken with her head cut off… frantic, making mistakes with other customers… talked down to me for “not ringing the bell when I got there”, she then said “how are we to know to help you?” (there was no receptionist). There were many pets in the waiting room and this was making my cat stressed… this gal then tried checking me in and proceeded to ask for my personal information in front of other guests… it was very unprofessional… never going to any Bond Vet again.

HarmsAbout a month ago I took my 6 month old German Shepherd in to see Dr. Karin Harter and I just want to say as a fellow medical professional that I am astonished at the lack of care that was demonstrated during my visit. The reason for the visit was due to my puppy having what appeared to be a hypersensitivity (allergy) to something. When we were in the room waiting to be seen. Dr. Harter just rushed into the room and said everything looks great and walked out. Before she left the room I inquired as to if she would care to look at the puppy since it was right in front of her to ensure he is ok, she quickly glanced and said everything was fine. Come to find out that my dog has ear mites and due to her raw incompetence the infection has worsened. As a Doctor we are supposed to hold ourselves accountable and do our best for our patients whether it is the end of a long day or anything else and I feel that she did not. I would not recommended Bond to anyone who wants quality care for their pets.

The facility is nice, the online scheduling is convenient, and they are friendly when you are there. Our first cat got his vaccines and neutering at Bond Vet in Chestnut Hill and they did a good job. When we brought our second cat in for a neuter, we were very unhappy and it's mostly around the communication and service level. We scheduled for a Thursday and they told us drop off is at 8am. Then the night before the surgery we were texted instructions (no food after midnight, etc.) and then received a third text that said "Oh! I forgot to tell you drop off at 10am" Well we have jobs and it's tough to scramble last minute for a 10am drop off. The reason why - no one was able to get into the office early enough that day. My husband managed to drop off at 10am. Then we didn't receive any updates all day. At 3:27 I texted. No response. At 3:45 I called and the front desk was very vague. I asked to speak to someone from the medical team and they said he hadn't even gone in to surgery yet. At this point he hasn't eaten since the evening before and we have plans at 4:45 and he won't be ready in time as he has to have the surgery then be weened off anesthesia for an hour. Why would you have our cat be last of the day when we dropped off at 10am? And why would you not at least communicate that? The procedure takes just 5min and you charge $600 for it and this is the service we get? I feel bad that our cat had to go without food all day long and that we had to be late for dinner and a show we were very much looking forward to. I plan to find a new vet for our cats. There is one in Newton Center that seems to have better reviews. Based on the other reviews and some actions of the clinic like trying to add dental services and push them heavily at the visit, I feel like they are more focused on growing their business and adding new services, and less on great patient care and great customer service. They won't have much of a business to grow though if they keep going like this. I feel like I don't even want to pay for this neuter service.
