Bodhi used to be great until Thrive got involved. Now it’s a big money grab. Treatments should be explained and then added, not included by default and having us review items line by line while you try get us to hurry up and pay. Corporations will be corporations but the vets should know and do better for their local community and dogs. I’m not mad, I’m disappointed. So is Pablo.

Bodhi Animal Hospital, A Thrive Pet Healthcare Partner Introduce
Welcome to Bodhi Animal Hospital, A Thrive Pet Healthcare Partner, located at 2200 University Ave, San Diego, CA 92104, USA. As a part of the Pet Hospital category, Bodhi Animal Hospital aims to serve the local community by providing veterinary care for your animal companions. Understanding the importance of your pet's health, they offer a range of services within a facility that, according to one recent review, is "incredibly well and extremely clean." This emphasis on a clean and well-maintained environment is a crucial aspect of any Pet Hospital, contributing to the overall health and safety of the animals and providing a reassuring space for pet owners.
Based on the available customer feedback, experiences at Bodhi Animal Hospital appear to be somewhat varied. One reviewer expressed disappointment following the hospital's partnership with Thrive Pet Healthcare, suggesting a shift towards prioritizing financial aspects over patient care, with concerns raised about treatments being included by default without adequate explanation. This perspective highlights the importance for pet owners to have transparent communication regarding treatment plans and associated costs, ensuring they feel informed and respected throughout the process. It also underscores the community's expectation that veterinary professionals should prioritize the well-being of their animal patients.
In contrast, another recent review offers a very positive account of the care received at Bodhi Animal Hospital. This customer specifically praised Dr. Morgan and the entire staff for their "comforting and kind" demeanor while caring for their pet, Magnifico, who was diagnosed with heart failure. The reviewer highlighted the "compassionate and professional care" as being "top notch." This feedback emphasizes the dedication and empathy of the veterinary team, which are essential qualities for a Pet Hospital in providing support to both sick animals and their worried owners. The mention of Dr. Morgan's "lovely bedside manner" further illustrates the importance of a caring and communicative approach in veterinary medicine.
Furthermore, the positive review also noted the efficient operation of the office and the low-contact protocols in place, which were particularly important for the reviewer's family due to immunosuppression. This suggests that Bodhi Animal Hospital is mindful of the needs and safety of their human clients as well, adapting their procedures to accommodate different circumstances. The ability to have a Sunday appointment also indicates a commitment to accessibility and accommodating various schedules.
Considering these contrasting viewpoints, it's important for local users to be aware of the range of experiences reported. While one review suggests potential changes in practice that may be concerning, another highlights the exceptional compassion and professionalism still present within the hospital, particularly praising Dr. Morgan and the staff. This suggests that the quality of care might be influenced by individual practitioners and the specific circumstances of each visit.
As part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare network, Bodhi Animal Hospital likely has access to a broader range of resources and potentially standardized protocols. Thrive Pet Healthcare is a large network of veterinary hospitals across the United States, aiming to provide high-quality, comprehensive care. This partnership could bring benefits such as access to advanced medical technologies, a network of specialists, and potentially streamlined administrative processes. However, as indicated by one of the reviews, it's crucial that these corporate structures do not compromise the personalized and transparent care that pet owners expect and deserve from their local Pet Hospital.
While specific services offered by Bodhi Animal Hospital are not detailed in the provided text, as a full-service Pet Hospital, they would typically offer a wide array of veterinary services. These generally include routine wellness exams and vaccinations to maintain your pet's health, diagnostic services such as laboratory testing and imaging (like X-rays) to identify illnesses, medical treatments for various conditions, and surgical procedures when necessary. They would also likely provide preventative care advice on nutrition, parasite control, and dental hygiene to help keep your pets healthy throughout their lives.
Given the limited information on specific services and the absence of any explicit promotional offers in the provided text, it is recommended that local users contact Bodhi Animal Hospital directly at (619) 225-5838 or +1 619-225-5838 to inquire about their current services, appointment availability, and any potential promotions for new or returning clients. Understanding their current practices and approach to patient care will help pet owners make informed decisions about their pet's healthcare needs.
In conclusion, Bodhi Animal Hospital, A Thrive Pet Healthcare Partner, located in San Diego, presents a complex picture based on recent customer feedback. While one review raises concerns about a potential shift in focus following the Thrive partnership, another strongly praises the compassionate and professional care provided by Dr. Morgan and the staff, as well as the cleanliness and efficient operation of the facility. Local users are encouraged to consider these perspectives and to contact the hospital directly to discuss their pet's specific needs and to determine if Bodhi Animal Hospital aligns with their expectations for veterinary care. The emphasis on cleanliness and the reported instances of compassionate care remain positive aspects, while the concerns about transparency in billing and treatment plans warrant open communication with the hospital staff.

Mar 19, 2025 · Ali MirdamadiIt is never easy when a beloved pet is ill. Let me just say that Dr. Morgan and her entire staff were so comforting and kind to Magnifico (diagnosed with heart failure) and myself. The compassionate and professional care was top notch. Additionally, their office is run incredibly well and extremely clean. I was able to go in on a Sunday with an appointment. It was very low contact which is important for my family due to immunosuppression. This place is so incredible. Thank you Dr. Morgan for your lovely bedside manner. You're an angel for our animals. I can't thank you all enough. I hope the care you provided will support Magnifico through his illness. We heart you. xo
Oct 30, 2024 · Anna Bobro-StaffordDr Keiss has been caring for my "family" for more than 20 years - parrots, dogs, and cats. I completely trust her advice when help is needed. She is currently caring for my sweet kitty, Victoria, for triaditis. It has involved a lot of medications for treatment and diagnostics to know what to treat. Victoria has fortunately greatly improved over the last couple months. Thank you Dr Keiss.
Dec 19, 2024 · Eileen CowlesBodhi is right down the street from us and they've only ever been awesome. They care for both of our dogs (used to be they cared for all three, but one passed away in July) and provide clear paths for treatment. What makes me like them so much is how they handled the passing of my dog, Scout. I'll spare the details, but Bodhi provided service for him until it became apparent that he needed an emergency room, to which they set up the appointment for us with a reference. After Scout passed, his doctor called us to find out how everything went. When we told her that he passed, she comforted us over the phone. Soon after, the entire office sent us a really sweet card offering their condolences. It was needed, and they were awesome about it
Dec 28, 2024 · Mike (DiademInDross)My dog is 3 days away from dying. We needed someone to help get his pills down his throat. The doctor at Bodhi at 7:45 on Jan 10 refused to see Baxter (even though he’s been coming to Bodhi for 10 years). Because he wasn’t current on his exam. He also said that he must give Baxter more vaccines. My dog will be dead in 3 days. You want to collect a $140 office visit fee for zero reason, and administer vaccines???? Bodhi treated us like a source of money-making trash. Avoid this clinic. They’re nothing like they used to be. BTW: He is current on his vaccines. I just don’t have the energy or will to compile paperwork for these people while my dog is literally dying, for such an absurd requirement obviously motivated by money.
