My beautiful yet rambunctious & will eat anything, yorkie/pom had eaten 2 pennies & her red blood count was so low, I thought I was going to lose her. I live in Winchester so my vet recommended Bluegrass Veterinary to give blood transfusions to Lucy. She is actually still there but doing great. She has already been up walking & eating. Still needs a little more blood but my girl is on the road to recovery. Everyone at this clinic was so professional, respectful, straight up and called SEVERAL times to give me updates. Very pleased & thankful that they saved my girl. ❤️🐶. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Laura

Apr 06, 2025 · Laura WilloughbyHad a feeling my bub had more than just an upset tummy and decided to take him here since it was late… they were super friendly and didn’t bat an eye at my “aggressive breed” dog (he’s a sweetie). Not to mention they were super up front about pricing and didn’t do anything before clearing it with me. The morning after he is already feeling better. I was super impressed and will definitely go here again in a time of need. Thank you Dr. Jones and BVS staff!
Mar 11, 2025 · Ellie EckerleI brought in a pup that tested positive for parvo. Hospitalization was more than I could afford at this time. We worked together to find a way to treat at home. We were there from midnight til 4 am but it was busy. So, I can’t fault them there. I ended up bringing Muffin in the next night as well because I couldn’t get her to take any of the pills and she still lacked an appetite. We did another round of fluid, anti nausea, and anti diarrheals and I asked for fluids to administer subcutaneously at home. Dr Jones approved. We did the antibody shot the first visit(Friday), an appetite stimulant Saturday visit and by the time we got home she was ready to eat some chicken baby food with some canned chicken as well. Sunday she had done a 180. Regained strength from eating. No vomiting. No more diarrhea. The tech was Leah and she was very helpful as well during this ordeal. The office visit was $150. Way more affordable than dragging a local vet in after hours. We made the hour drive there, twice. And I’d do it again if I ever needed to. The staff was all very kind and caring.
Apr 23, 2025 · Kendra NMy puppy was found unresponsive and cold outside. We rushed him into BVS in the middle of the night. They were professional, kind, and stabilized him very quickly. It was expensive, but literally the difference between life and death. We kept him there until he was stable enough to move to our vet once they were open. He was able to continue the monitoring they suggested at BVS for the rest of the day, and now he is good as new. They literally saved my baby's life, and I'm SO GRATEFUL to have a place that's always open.
Apr 15, 2025 · Kit CrawfordThey saved my boy Apollo’s life!! After a week of rapid decline, 2 visits to our regular vet, and one overnight stay at Metro in Louisville we continued to be sent home with no answers and “let’s just wait and see if he gets better.” Made a snap decision to go to Bluegrass one night around midnight and I’m so thankful we did. They admitted him and were able to give a diagnosis that same night. I was so relieved to finally at least have an answer, even if the diagnosis wasn’t great. He stayed for a few nights for the supportive care he needed and I went to pick him up and he was a whole new cat!! We’ve been home with him for almost 3 weeks now and he’s doing amazing, (and he looks adorable with his fur boots). I don’t know what would’ve happened if we hadn’t gone to the right place at the right time but I’m so glad we did. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and kind. I will recommend Bluegrass to anyone looking for the best care for their babies.
