Before the pandemic, you could find a little bird enclosure inside so your pets could have something to watch while you waited for your turn. Nowadays, you have to wait outside in your car so they can take your pets in one at a time to keep up with social distancing. Regardless, the vets here are always very nice, understanding people that help you understand what's wrong with your animals and get them the treatments they need. I take my pets here whenever they have a problem

Based on available online feedback from pet owners, experiences at Betsy A Japp VMD appear to vary. One long-term client shared a positive perspective, highlighting the kindness and understanding nature of the veterinarians. This reviewer mentioned that the vets take the time to explain the health issues affecting their animals and ensure they receive the necessary treatments. This client indicated a consistent reliance on Betsy A Japp VMD for their pets' healthcare needs.

Historically, the clinic offered a unique waiting room environment, featuring a bird enclosure to provide entertainment for visiting pets. However, in response to the pandemic and the need for social distancing, the clinic has adapted its procedures. Currently, clients are required to wait outside in their cars, and pets are brought into the clinic individually to maintain safety protocols. This change reflects the clinic's commitment to adhering to health guidelines and ensuring the well-being of both clients and staff during these times.

In contrast to the positive feedback regarding the established veterinarians at the clinic, a more recent review presents a significant concern. This review details a deeply distressing experience wherein the client alleges that a new veterinarian, Melissa, misdiagnosed their dog, ultimately leading to the pet's death. The client reported spending a considerable sum on treatment based on this alleged misdiagnosis, which they believe worsened their dog's condition. Upon seeking a second opinion at another veterinary facility, a different diagnosis (cancer, without a heart murmur, contrary to the initial assessment) was reportedly made within two hours. The reviewer expressed profound regret that the correct diagnosis was not reached sooner, suggesting that earlier intervention could have prevented their dog's suffering.

This negative review raises serious concerns about the diagnostic capabilities of at least one of the newer veterinarians at the practice, according to the client's account. The client's description of the communication following the dog's passing, where the veterinarian reportedly offered a simple apology, further contributed to their distress. The financial burden of the allegedly incorrect treatment, coupled with the tragic outcome, understandably led to a highly negative assessment of their experience with the new veterinarian.

It is important for potential clients to consider both the positive long-term experiences reported with the established veterinarians and the serious allegations made in the negative review regarding a newer member of the team. When seeking veterinary care at Betsy A Japp VMD, local users may want to inquire about the specific veterinarian who will be attending to their pet and potentially seek information about their experience and qualifications.

As a Pet Hospital, Betsy A Japp VMD likely offers a range of standard veterinary services. Based on the positive review, these services include diagnosis of pet illnesses and the provision of necessary treatments. While the specifics of all services offered are not detailed in the provided information, typical services at a veterinary clinic often include:

  • General Check-ups and Wellness Exams: Routine examinations to assess your pet's overall health and well-being.
  • Vaccinations: Administering necessary vaccines to protect your pet against common diseases.
  • Parasite Prevention and Control: Providing treatments and advice to prevent and manage fleas, ticks, heartworms, and other parasites.
  • Diagnosis and Treatment of Illnesses: Identifying and treating various medical conditions affecting pets.
  • Minor Surgical Procedures: Performing certain surgical procedures as needed.
  • Dental Care: Offering dental cleanings and addressing oral health issues.
  • Nutritional Counseling: Providing guidance on appropriate pet nutrition.

Given the limited information and the contrasting reviews, it is challenging to provide a comprehensive overview of the clinic's environment beyond the past presence of a bird enclosure in the waiting area and the current practice of waiting in cars due to social distancing. The positive review suggests a caring and understanding environment fostered by the established veterinarians. However, the negative review paints a picture of a potentially critical lapse in diagnostic accuracy by a newer veterinarian.

Currently, there is no promotional information available for Betsy A Japp VMD in the provided data. Local users interested in their services may wish to contact the clinic directly to inquire about any current promotions or special offers.

In conclusion, Betsy A Japp VMD in Eastford, CT, is a Pet Hospital with a history of providing care to local pets. While some long-term clients have reported positive experiences with the established veterinarians, a recent review raises significant concerns about the diagnostic abilities of a newer veterinarian at the practice. Potential clients should consider this feedback and may wish to seek further information or clarification from the clinic before entrusting their pets' care.

The new vet melissa miss diagnosed my dog causing him to die. Do not bring your animals to the new vet that is there. She can not diagnosis dogs properly.when I called her to let her know that my dog had no heart murmur but had cancer all she had to say was sorry. I had brought my dog in for several visits and spent $500.00 for the wrong treatment that made him worse. When I brought him to another place within two hours I had a diagnosis. If we had know earlier he would not have suffered like he did. She made him suffer.

Love this vet! We switched from the vet in Woodstock. Prices here are way lower. Great staff. Very helpful and polite. They even sent me a sympathy card when I had to put my cat down. Would highly recommend.
