We had to put my dad's dog to sleep today(family dog from when I was growing up). Dr. Bennett had such a special gentleness and kindness with her personality. She was sweet to our dog and referred to her by name. Her kindness went farther than she probably realizes. My dad said this time was easier than any other euthanasia we have had to do. Our hearts were still broken and we will miss our Lacey tremendously, but Dr. Bennett's patience and compassion offered a special moment of healing for my dad. I can't thank her enough. We would highly recommend her and the in home process. (Loving memory - Lacey)

Welcome to Bennett Veterinary Services

This unique model allows Dr. Bennett and her team to provide quality veterinary care directly in the security and comfort of a pet's home, or at their established clinic. Their service area extends throughout Western Kentucky, Southeastern Illinois, and Southern Indiana, catering to a wide range of animals including dogs, cats, and horses.
The environment offered by Bennett Veterinary Services is multifaceted. The physical clinic location at 2219 US-41 ALT in Dixon, KY, serves as a base for procedures and consultations that require a traditional clinic setting. However, a significant part of their service model revolves around their "mobile coach," which is described as a state-of-the-art unit equipped with the comforts and technology typically found in a brick-and-mortar veterinary clinic. This mobile setup is designed to reduce the stress and anxiety animals often experience when traveling to a veterinary office, eliminating car rides and waiting rooms. The ability to assess a patient's environment during a house call also provides a more holistic understanding of the pet's health and behavior. This personalized, in-home approach creates a calm and secure environment for both pets and their owners, particularly beneficial for anxious animals, multi-pet households, or pets in their senior years. The focus on compassion and gentleness is evident in client testimonials, highlighting a caring and supportive atmosphere even during difficult times like euthanasia.
Bennett Veterinary Services offers a comprehensive range of services, with a strong emphasis on personalized care and convenience, especially through their mobile unit. Their services typically include:
Wellness and Preventative Care: This foundational service includes thorough physical examinations, tailored vaccination protocols for dogs, cats, and horses, and comprehensive parasite control. They prioritize preventative health to ensure long-term well-being for their patients.
Mobile Diagnostic Testing: Equipped with an in-house laboratory on their mobile unit, they can perform various blood tests (basic blood testing to advanced panels), fecal microscopic exams, and heartworm testing with results often available within minutes during the visit. They also offer digital radiography (X-rays) for instant viewing, assisting in immediate diagnosis for both small animals and equine per limb.
Small Animal Dentistry: They provide dental cleaning services and tooth extractions, utilizing modern dental equipment to address oral health issues for dogs and cats.
Minor Injury and Illness Treatment: Their mobile unit is capable of handling various illnesses (such as vomiting, diarrhea, weight loss) and minor injuries, including laceration repair and abscess drainage.
Microchipping: A vital service for pet safety, microchipping is offered with a one-time fee that includes registration in a pet recovery database.
Equine Services: Beyond small animals, Dr. Bennett also caters to horses, providing equine dentistry (floating/wolf teeth extraction) and equine vaccinations. While a full list of equine services isn't extensively detailed, their mobile nature makes them particularly well-suited for farm calls.
Hospice and End-of-Life Care: This is a significantly highlighted service, particularly the in-home euthanasia process. Dr. Bennett provides a compassionate and gentle approach, ensuring pets can pass peacefully in the comfort of their own home. This service includes sedation to ensure comfort, the euthanasia procedure itself, and respectful handling of remains, with options for private or communal cremation. This sensitive approach aims to offer a "special moment of healing" for grieving pet owners.
Medication and Pharmacy: They maintain a vast inventory of medications and emphasize that they do not approve online medication requests for items they carry in stock, suggesting a preference for direct provision to ensure proper dosage and usage.
Surgical Services: While the mobile unit can perform minor surgical procedures like skin biopsies, laceration repairs, and abscess drainage, major or invasive surgeries requiring hospitalization are referred to local veterinary specialists and hospitals to ensure pets receive the best cutting-edge veterinary medicine available.

Feb 20, 2025 · B DDr Bennett was such a blessing to our family. Our dog was always afraid go to the vet and had a painful condition that made her so fragile that we were afraid to even try to load her up and take her to our regular vet for euthanasia. The thought of her being scared and in pain was too much for us. Dr Bennett was so very kind to our family. She was prompt, professional, informative and caring. She really made a terrible situation so much better for us and I will forever treasure her kindness.
Jan 21, 2025 · Jasmine FolzShiloh, our 16 year old lab mix, had severe arthritis and then tore his acl. He was in severe pain and we knew surgery would not give him the quality of life he deserved at his age. We wanted him to be put to sleep at home but we couldn't find a local vet for in home services. Luckily, we called Bennett Veterinary Services. From the moment we called, everything was arranged in a professional and orderly manner. Dr. Bennett arrived within a few hours and she was compassionate, calming and made friends with Shiloh. Our little buddy passed away peacefully with dignity in the comfort of his home while eating his favorite treats surrounded by the people he loved and the people who loved him. We highly recommend Bennett Veterinary Services!
