We had an emergency with our dog due to her cancer. Not to get into details, but we had to put our dog down. All this on a Sunday. The people at Bennett Creek were great and very caring.

January 2024 Update to Jeff Walcoff’s employee at Bennett Creek Animal Hospital: Subsequent to the official complaint filed against Matthew Felrice, the State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners completed their investigation and took disciplinary action against his license. The Board also imposed a civil penalty. This report can easily be found online by searching his name and MDA Vet Board, then a clickable link to “view disciplinary actions” becomes accessible. I am grateful to have achieved some measure of justice for our beloved Archie and to know he did not die in vain. Note for BCAH owner Jeff Walcoff: Next time a client files an official complaint against a recently hired vet of yours, keep your ego in check. Rather than send them a letter so you can have the last word and add more insult to injury (especially after all the harm your defective veterinarian and overall sloppiness at your establishment already caused), try terminating that code violator’s employment and apologizing to the client. Reassess how to improve your business instead of continuing with the practice of bullying women - a practice that is customary to you and Felrice. Violating MDA Vet Board codes that are in place for the benefit of animals, makes one a bully toward animals, too. You bullied the wrong person and the wrong pet this time. Shame on you and Felrice for all the others you have mistreated over the years and gotten by with. Attached (on Yelp review) is an image of more sloppiness and failure to check your work exemplified. Go back to 2nd Grade so you can learn how to spell “animal” correctly and perhaps you will also learn how to take accountability and how to treat others (including animals) with respect. Sloppiness, laziness, apathy, and harassment have no place in veterinary medicine. I stood up to Matthew Felrice, a menacing bully, and now he has the public permanent black eye he so deserves. I hope and pray my efforts spare other helpless animals and their unsuspecting owners. May sweet Archie rest in eternal peace. His life mattered and he deserved much better care, professionalism, and compassion from Matthew Felrice. Basic decency is foreign to this individual. Please keep your pets away from him and avoid anyone or any practice that endorses and enables such a disgrace to veterinary medicine. (end of update, 1/24) This review is for Dr. Jeff Walcoff because he sent me an unnecessary, mean spirited, unprofessional letter but that letter motivated me to post public reviews (on Google, Yelp, and Facebook to name a few). Here is some background information: Dr. Walcoff’s employee, Dr. Matthew Felrice, performed a scheduled cystotomy on our beloved pet, Archie. He discharged Archie hours later in critical condition with organs protruding from his abdominal incision (not the norm in veterinary medicine and unacceptable). Long story short, Archie died, Dr. Felrice hid behind his colleague, Dr. Debbie Deans, and he took no accountability whatsoever. I rightfully had many concerns and sent thoughtful emails specifically addressed to him regarding Archie, but every single time, Dr. Deans would reply. She also tried to “dumb down” what happened to Archie (e.g., “their guts just aren’t made to keep working sometimes”) even though she was there when I rushed him back inside and at that time she made a reference to “all this has been out of his body”. She looked shocked and horrified, her speech was even halted. Once I involved the State of MD, Dr. Walcoff refunded me for the cystotomy. Dr. Deans finally stopped communicating for Dr. Felrice and he magically found it within his heart to contact me and offer to answer questions. Unfortunately that went nowhere though because Dr. Felrice proved, once again, to be most difficult making it clear in an email that he still would not check a patient’s abdominal incision prior to discharge because “that is the job of the techs.” Knowing history would repeat, I took action and to the MDA Veterinary Board is where I went with the facts of Archie’s case.

Waited 2h for a fairly routine procedure. Booked an appointment with a specific vet which delayed the visit by a day, got another vet instead after 1h of waiting. Unfortunate, this used to be a decent vet.
