Absolutely horrible experience here! My dog's eye was swollen and hurt and they ran some tests but didn't find signs of trauma so they sent us home with steroid drops and no answers!!! They did not bother to dig deeper to find out why his eye was swollen and shut! They just sent us home with absolutely no diagnosis. Turns out my dog had glaucoma and they didn't find it! We trusted what they said and the drops they gave us but they were careless in their diagnosis. If the doctor had diagnosed my dog correctly, they would have been able to control his eye pressure to avoid permanent nerve damage and loss of vision. Because of their incorrect diagnosis, my dog now has no vision in his left eye and no hope for reversal of his vision. Absolutely careless and uninformed! Our family is extremely heartbroken for our pup who now has gone blind in his left eye at the age of 3.

Bellevue Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Introduce
Bellevue Veterinary Emergency & Specialty, located at 2515 140th Ave NE Building E, Floor 1, Bellevue, WA 98005, USA, serves the local community as a dedicated pet hospital providing both emergency and specialized veterinary services. As a listing in the 'Pet Hospital' category, Bellevue Veterinary Emergency & Specialty aims to offer comprehensive care for pets in critical situations and those requiring specialized medical attention.
Based on customer reviews, the environment and immediate response at Bellevue Veterinary Emergency & Specialty appear to be significant aspects of their service. One positive review highlights the cleanliness and modern feel of the facility, describing it as akin to a human hospital. This can be reassuring for pet owners in distress, suggesting a professional and well-equipped setting for their animal's care. The same review also praises the prompt response upon arrival, noting that two Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVTs) were waiting with a gurney and efficiently moved the pet inside. This indicates a system designed for quick and careful intake during emergencies.
The services offered at Bellevue Veterinary Emergency & Specialty encompass both emergency care and specialized veterinary medicine. The positive experience detailed in one review involved a senior dog presenting with severe neurological symptoms. The review emphasizes the speed and efficiency of the initial assessment, with a veterinarian on call providing a differential diagnosis within 20 minutes of arrival. This suggests a well-staffed and responsive emergency service capable of handling critical cases swiftly. The diagnosis of canine vestibular disease was later confirmed by the pet's primary care veterinarian, lending credibility to the emergency team's assessment.
However, it is crucial to consider all available feedback to provide an objective introduction. One negative review recounts a significantly different experience where a dog with a swollen and painful eye was allegedly sent home with steroid drops and no definitive diagnosis. The reviewer claims that Bellevue Veterinary Emergency & Specialty did not "dig deeper" to find the cause of the swelling, which was later diagnosed as glaucoma by another veterinarian. The reviewer expresses extreme heartbreak over the resulting permanent vision loss in their dog's eye, attributing it to a "careless and uninformed" initial diagnosis. This account raises serious concerns about the diagnostic thoroughness in at least one instance.
A notable feature mentioned in the positive review is the emphasis on Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVTs). The reviewer explicitly states that the facility is "heavy on LVTs" and implies a high level of training among the technical staff. The compassionate, smart, and professional demeanor of the three LVTs encountered during their visit was specifically commended. This suggests that Bellevue Veterinary Emergency & Specialty invests in a well-trained and capable team of veterinary technicians who play a significant role in patient care.
The stark contrast between the two reviews highlights the challenge of providing a completely objective introduction based on limited and conflicting information. While one customer experienced a rapid, accurate diagnosis and compassionate care, another reports a devastating outcome allegedly due to a missed diagnosis. It is important for local users to be aware of both positive and negative feedback when considering this pet hospital for their needs.
Currently, there is no specific promotional information available in the provided text. Potential users would need to contact Bellevue Veterinary Emergency & Specialty directly at (425) 553-4988 or +1 425-553-4988 to inquire about any ongoing promotions, special services, or their current protocols and capabilities. Given the mixed feedback, it would be prudent for pet owners to ask detailed questions about the hospital's diagnostic procedures, staffing levels, and emergency protocols when seeking care for their animals.
In summary, Bellevue Veterinary Emergency & Specialty in Bellevue, WA, offers emergency and specialized veterinary care. One customer review praises the clean and modern facility, the prompt and efficient emergency response, the professionalism and compassion of the staff, particularly the LVTs, and the accuracy of the initial diagnosis in their case. However, another review details a deeply negative experience involving a missed diagnosis that allegedly led to permanent vision loss in a young dog. This conflicting feedback suggests that while some pet owners have had positive experiences with their emergency and specialty services, others have encountered significant issues with diagnosis and care. Local users should consider these differing accounts and potentially seek further information or clarification from the facility directly to make an informed decision about their pet's care.

Mar 11, 2025 · peggy soltaniWe can't speak highly enough about Bellevue Veterinary Emergency & Specialty. We woke up in the middle of the night and our senior golden Mac was panting heavily. We turned on the light and saw he was having trouble walking - stumbling and running into the wall, and finally just splayed out, with a tilted head. His eyes were rolling back and forth. We were devastated for him, and confused. Is he having a stroke? Why can't he walk? We have had a bad experience with emergency vet hospitals before, so we were going to wait until morning for his primary care team, and then he started throwing up. We realized he needed to be seen asap. We called Bellevue Veterinary Emergency & Specialty and got the cut of their jib right way. They answered immediately and were professional. They told us they would expect Mac. We pulled up at midnight, and two LVTs (licensed vet techs) were waiting in lobby with a gurney. They gently moved Mac onto the gurney and rolled him in to the back. The facility was clean and modern and felt like a hospital. I was crying, expecting the worst. The vet on call saw him immediately. Within 20 minutes she came into our room and gave us her differential diagnosis, which our primary later confirmed - canine vestibular disease. We were discharged with anti nausea meds. There were three LVTs - all compassionate, smart and professional, in addition to the Vet on call. We later learned that this facility is "heavy on LVTs" - e/g/ lots of training. It showed. In summary this is an extremely high quality place and I recommend it highly. And Mac is on the mend.
Jan 21, 2025 · Lori PriceLast night I had to take my dog in immediately for some serious health concerns. The care team was so compassionate, empathetic, and informative. They kept me well informed during the hours I was there and provided my dog with the best care I could have asked for. She ended up passing away and I couldn’t speak more highly about the vet and all the supportive staff at Bellevue Veterinary. I will be forever grateful and would always recommend their care.
Apr 02, 2025 · Nia PThe staff at Bellevue Veterinary Emergency & Specialty took amazing care of my Frenchie girl. Full disclosure - I’m a veterinarian in general practice out of state and was referred to Dr. A. Davis for brachycephalic airway correction surgery. We took a 2-week road trip just to see Dr. Davis. The surgery went really well and she is fully recovered. She is now much happier, super energetic, and breathing so so well. Thank you, Dr. Davis - you’re amazing. Apologies again for my girl’s rude behavior during her stay. We highly recommend Dr. Davis and her team.
Oct 16, 2024 · Joey TsangWe came here to see Dr. Davis about a nose surgery for my kitten. The facility is cutting edge, the seating is comfy, the aesthetic is calm and the receptionists are very kind. But most of all, Dr. Davis is an absolute rock star!! We appreciate so so much that she was willing to try a novel treatment on my little guy. She is so precise and caring and she really put so much energy and thought into the surgery. It has really been a life changing procedure for him. I would also like to say that her whole team was outstanding and really cared for us through the whole process. We will definitely be coming back here if we need anything else and if we ever need an ER I know that we would be in excellent hands. Thank you Bellevue Veterinary Emergency and Specialty!
