I’ve been so excited about this place opening because it’s right around the corner from me. I have tried to give this place a chance, twice now. Maybe 3rd time is the charm? Lol I don’t know if I’ll be trying again. The first time, I called to get pricing info because I wanted to get my animals set up with them. The girl seemed annoyed and didn’t give me any info. I let it go, thinking it was because they’re a new facility and still getting situated. They’ve been open a few months now so I called again today to see about taking my cat in. The receptionist told me the exam fee but said they don’t give any prices over the phone. She couldn’t tell me how much a fecal exam is, how much the medication would be, etc. I’ve never called a veterinarian and had this experience. You can get prices for anything over the phone.. this seems like a really bad business practice. So I must pay the exam fee and be forced to pay for their treatment, having no idea what I’m getting myself into? No thanks. I’d rather drive an hour to someone who is transparent. I’m incredibly disappointed

Bella Vista Animal Hospital offers a range of core veterinary services essential for maintaining pet health. While the provided information does not detail every specific service, a typical "Pet Hospital" of this nature generally provides:
- General Wellness Exams: Routine check-ups are crucial for overall pet health, allowing veterinarians to assess a pet's condition and detect any potential issues early.
- Vaccinations: Essential immunizations against common and potentially severe diseases for dogs and cats are a standard offering to protect pets' health.
- Microchipping: This service provides permanent identification, significantly increasing the chances of a lost pet being reunited with its owner.
- Diagnostic Services: While specific equipment isn't mentioned, a pet hospital typically offers basic diagnostic tools such as in-house blood tests, urinalysis, and potentially radiography (X-rays) to aid in diagnosing illnesses and injuries.
- Spay & Neuter: These common surgical procedures are vital for pet population control and can offer significant health benefits for individual animals.
- Dental Care: Maintaining good oral hygiene is important for pets' overall health. Dental services usually include examinations, cleanings, and possibly extractions.
- Surgical Procedures: Beyond spay and neuter, a veterinary clinic often performs various soft tissue surgeries for medical necessities.
- Parasite Prevention and Control: Guidance and products for preventing and treating fleas, ticks, and heartworms are essential components of preventive care.
Given the nature of a "Pet Hospital," these foundational services would form the backbone of their offerings, addressing common pet health needs comprehensively.
The primary distinguishing feature of Bella Vista Animal Hospital, as evidenced by positive customer feedback, is the compassionate and kind approach of its staff and veterinarians towards animals. Feb 10, 2025 · Bethany Clay-StampsBella Vista Animal Hospital is fantastic. Their staff is extremely nice and helpful. They are so kind to my animals. Dr. Gillespie takes the time to explain what the treatment is for my animal. They care and it shows! Thanks.
Jan 05, 2023 · Allison JudsonI can not recommend Dr. Gillespie and her staff enough! I spent 2 days calling vets to see my very ill cat, when google finally recommended BV animal hospital. The second one of the vet tech’s answered the phone I was met with kindness and a same day appointment. My cat is very sick and they all treated her with so much kindness, full itemized cost transparency before resuming treatment, & spent so long answering my questions even being so close to closing time. I’m hopeful my senior cat will make a full recovery and feel so relieved knowing she has a team of compassionate people to care for her if we need further treatment. Thank you so much!
Mar 16, 2024 · ChelsAfter my 4 year old hound dog, Boone, had an apparent eye injury, I needed to find a new local vet. I had recently moved to the area, and they got me in same day. The staff were all very sweet to him, and professionally direct with me that he would need to have it removed. We scheduled the surgery (which went well), and created a recovery plan. They called many times checking in on him as he recovered. Unfortunately, his recovery didn’t go as planned. About a month after the surgery, he began to lose motor control in his back legs. He lost roughly 15 pounds in a week, and the swelling around his eye was getting worse and unusually firm. I called back, and again they got me in quickly. After some non-invasive tests, it became apparent that he was most likely fighting cancer in his brain. Dr. Gillespie and the staff were very compassionate, but also direct, about the options. Given his rapid deterioration, lack of appetite, and dramatic weight loss, I decided it was in his best interest to end his suffering humanely. Though I know this is unfortunately a common procedure for them, their compassion for him and for me was very obvious. The next day, they called me with an update that they had investigated some bleeding we noticed from his mouth. It turns out that he had a large mass at the back of his mouth that all but confirmed the presence of cancer. Though I felt confident that I had done the right thing for Boone, it was very comforting to have it confirmed. This was not something I expected them to do, but it was very appreciated. Though the circumstances were difficult, it was a trustworthy and comforting experience working with the staff.
Sep 29, 2023 · Robert CummingsHad a wonderful experience here during a heartbreaking time. Adopted a sweet puppy who ended up having a life ending birth defect. When symptoms began to ruin his quality of life, we had to make the decision to end his suffering. Dr. meet us on her day off to help put him to rest. Never been there before. She was kind and compassionate and went above and beyond for our sweet little guy. Sent a sweet card after. 10 out of 10 for all she did to help our sweet Chance.
