I would give them a 0 if I could. I brought my bird here due to her toe being bit by a cage mate and she just needed the nail to get cleaned up and get her some pain medication. She was taken to the back where I couldn’t see her and they “trimmed just her nail” according to the medical notes and she in-fact got half of her toe taken with it and it seems to have been cauterized.And for this they gave her absolutely no pain medication prior to it only some for me to give at home. When I got her back, she was panting (probably from the pain) and in shock and looked worse then when I took her in so I gave her the meds right then to help easy the pain from all the trama this practice has given her. Although now she’s doing good she is now traumatized to go into her medical carrier for regular vet check ups with her normal vet . It breaks my heart I could not have been there to stop it from happening before my poor girl was abused. Here’s a picture of her healed toe and from when she first got it removed where you can clearly see it was not just the nail that was taken off.

100% the best clinic. I had to put down my loving dog of 17 years. They were so kind, understanding, and made the whole process special ... as I held my little Toby Doggy in my arms and he drifted away to begin the new chapter and adventure of his life into the next realm. They understand -- the bond between a man and his dog is sacred. God bless ya'll! Still, years later I keep this kind letter they sent me in condolences.

Our initial appointment with Beach Pet Hospital was a positive one. However, every interaction since has been strained. Our dog requires RX food which was prescribed at this clinic and ordered through their site. Without notice from the clinic our food auto ship was canceled. The auto ship is timed so that she doesn’t go without food. Without any notice of cancellation and a decline of my immediate request to renew she’s days away from having no food. Her food is medically necessary and cannot be purchased without RX so I can’t just run to the store and pick up a bag. This is truly terrible. I don’t know how any vet can feel good about any animal going without food. I’d definitely recommend going elsewhere for anything that requires follow up.

Beach Pet is the BEST vet office in the area in my opinion. I’ve been to many different local offices and even traveled to Chesapeake once in search of the best vet for my dog. I have now seen 3 different doctors since being with beach pet and I am more than pleased with all of them! I have had only fantastic experiences from the front desk, vet techs, and the doctors. They all are so knowledgeable and really take time to answer all of my questions. They also are SO good with my dog. She gets real nervous at the vet as I’m sure many do, and they have the best vibe which makes her way more relaxed. I recommend them all the time! I also should mention they are very timely— this is a very important factor to me! I have not had to wait long at all to be seen with an appointment.

After 15+ years of having my pets taken care of by Beach Pet veterinarians I am done. No complaints of the veterinary care but the manager and front office have disappointed me for the last time. Their new policy is a charge for using credit cards…unknown to me because when I called for the appointment, I wasn't Informed. I wasn’t going to pay an extra $15 for the $386 bill so I said I’d take 5 minutes to drive home in the pouring rain to call in with my debit card info. The front desk person had to check with a higher up lol….were they going to hold me hostage ? I have paid THOUSANDS to this group and have paid in full each visit ! I returned in five minutes with cash. There are a few other reasons why I’ll find a better vet practice but I’ll end this now. UPDATE: just received a phone call from a staff member basically telling me everyone charges for credit card use, I should have known because they had this policy since this summer ( my dog has an appointment every January), they are too busy to tell people on the phone when an appointment is made, and the policy is listed on their website…she will send me the records for my dog 😀
