Dr White is our version of Dr Pol. He has years of experience and knowledge. He really cares about the animals and their people. He listens carefully to my dog's problems and even to my suggestions, and he never makes me feel like he is in a hurry to get to his next appointment. He has been spot on with his diagnosis and treatment, and I've brought in some difficult problems. His staff is also super friendly. In case you might think I don't know what I'm talking about; I'm 78 years old and have been involved in the dog world since 20, showing in both conformation and obedience. I've finished 7 champions and earned multiple obedience degrees. In those years, I've dealt with many many vets, and Dr White is by far my favorite. He knows what he is doing. And I consider him a friend. The only problem.... he may eventually retire while I still need him! đŸ˜±

Welcome to Bayview Animal Hospital Layton

For pet owners in Layton, Utah, and the surrounding communities, the platform category "Pet Hospital" serves as a crucial resource for finding local veterinary care dedicated to the health and well-being of their animal companions. Among these options is Bayview Animal Hospital Layton, located at 2215 W Gentile St, Layton, UT 84041, USA. You can reach their office at (801) 784-5800 or +1 801-784-5800 for appointments and inquiries regarding the medical needs of your pets.

Based on the available customer reviews, Bayview Animal Hospital Layton offers a practice led by Dr. White, who is highly regarded by at least one long-term client. This reviewer, identifying as a 78-year-old with extensive experience in the dog world (including showing in conformation and obedience, finishing seven champions, and earning multiple obedience degrees over 58 years), describes Dr. White as their "version of Dr Pol" due to his "years of experience and knowledge." This analogy suggests a veterinarian with a practical, hands-on approach and a deep understanding of animal health.

The positive review emphasizes Dr. White's genuine care for both the animals and their owners. The reviewer appreciates that Dr. White "listens carefully" to their dog's problems and even considers their suggestions, indicating a collaborative approach to pet care. Furthermore, they note that Dr. White "never makes me feel like he is in a hurry to get to his next appointment," highlighting his attentiveness and dedication to each patient. The reviewer expresses strong confidence in Dr. White's diagnostic and treatment abilities, stating that he has been "spot on" even with "some difficult problems." This level of trust from an experienced pet owner speaks volumes about Dr. White's competence and expertise.

The friendly nature of the staff at Bayview Animal Hospital Layton is also commended in the positive review, contributing to a welcoming and supportive environment for pet owners. This positive interaction with both the veterinarian and the support staff can significantly enhance the overall experience of seeking veterinary care, making it less stressful for both the animals and their human companions.

However, another customer review presents a contrasting perspective, highlighting a significant limitation of Bayview Animal Hospital Layton: the absence of emergency room (ER) services. This reviewer recounts a situation where their dog became sick and, despite having received "exemplary service" previously, they were unable to secure an immediate appointment due to the hospital being fully booked. The reviewer expresses concern about their dog's well-being while waiting for an available appointment, conveying a sense of urgency and disappointment with the lack of immediate care options. The reviewer interprets the situation as a lack of care and suggests they were advised to seek services elsewhere, leading to a negative overall experience and a decision not to return.

Considering these two reviews, the services offered at Bayview Animal Hospital Layton likely include routine check-ups, vaccinations, diagnosis and treatment of illnesses, and potentially surgical procedures, given Dr. White's described expertise. The positive review suggests a strong focus on thorough examination, careful listening to owner concerns, and accurate diagnosis. However, the lack of emergency services, as pointed out in the negative review, is a crucial aspect to consider for pet owners who may require urgent care outside of regular appointment hours.

Features of Bayview Animal Hospital Layton appear to include the extensive experience and knowledge of Dr. White, who has earned the trust of long-term clients through his accurate diagnoses and caring approach. The friendly and helpful nature of the staff also stands out as a positive feature, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. However, the lack of emergency services is a significant limitation that potential clients should be aware of when choosing a primary veterinary care provider.

Promotional information is not explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews. It is common for veterinary practices to promote their services through various means, such as their website, local advertising, or special offers for new clients or specific services like vaccinations or dental cleanings. Bayview Animal Hospital Layton may have such promotions in place, but they are not detailed in the given feedback. Pet owners in the Layton area may want to contact the hospital directly or visit their website (if available) to inquire about any current promotions or wellness plans they might offer.

In conclusion, Bayview Animal Hospital Layton in Utah offers veterinary care characterized by the extensive experience and caring approach of Dr. White, along with a friendly support staff, as highlighted by a long-term, experienced pet owner. Dr. White is praised for his thoroughness, diagnostic skills, and genuine concern for animals and their owners. However, a critical limitation is the lack of emergency services, which may be a significant factor for pet owners needing urgent care. Potential clients should be aware of this limitation when considering Bayview Animal Hospital Layton for their pet's healthcare needs and may want to inquire directly about the full range of services offered and any available promotions.

Hospital without an ER, my dog has come down sick, they have always provided exemplary service up til now, but we’ll have to wait and see if she doesn’t die before I can get an appointment, not much care, “sorry we’re booked”. As if they were saying, “ You’re a regular patient, But we really don’t care too much about you or your Toy poodle“, guess they have plenty of customers. Gal basically told me to ‘take my business somewhere else!’ Good Friday morning to y’all!! Won’t be back!!

I came into Get my dog chipped & updated on shots in March 1, 2025. Crane was so amazing as always and will only go to this location for my animals. However, they told me I would get an email right away to register my dog online after his appt. After two weeks of waiting for the email which never came, I called today only to find out he was never registered in their system. If he went missing I would’ve never found him because his chip was never registered. So frustrating. I called today and Polly was amazing! She explained what happened and addressed my issue right away. She fixed the problem & updated my dog in their system. She apologized and made it right. Please give this woman a raise she s amazing and goes out of her way for everyone to make sure they’re happy. If you get your dog/cat chipped here please make sure it’s registered right away so you don’t run into an issue like I did.

The staff was super friendly and the facility was clean. However, my experience with Dr. Carlos Clavijo was disappointing. I brought my dog in to check for a possible ear infection. Dr. Clavijo briefly asked when I noticed the issue, then took my dog to the back without explaining what would be done. When he returned, he immediately attempted to administer a shot without informing me what it was for—I had to stop him and ask. He then handed me a prescription and asked if I had any questions, but had not explained what was wrong, what treatment had already been given, or what the prescription was for. I was not told whether it was an infection, if it affected one or both ears, or what symptoms to watch for in the future. Ultimately, they did a treatment to both ears, a steroid injection, and a prescription—none of which were discussed or explained beforehand. While I appreciate that my dog was treated, basic communication and informed consent were lacking throughout the visit.

Upon arrival, we had a very positive experience. The facility was very clean and the front staff, along with Amber, was very attentive. The technician was kind to our pet, but I was surprised that no one initially checked our pet’s temperature or assessed his condition based on his symptoms; we had to remind the staff to do so before we left. Dr. C made a poor initial impression with his curt demeanor. He seemed short and almost dismissive of our pet’s situation. For instance, he did not introduce himself when he came in and after a brief greeting, he pointed to the table for our dog and began his assessment without allowing us to provide input. He was halfway out the door before he finally asked if we had any questions. However, It came off as more of a formality versus actually caring if we had any questions and addressing them. The initial interaction, lasting less than two minutes, felt rushed and impersonal, reflecting poor bedside manner. However, Dr. C significantly redeemed himself when he returned with the medications and was very polite and more attentive. Additionally, a gentleman named Alex was extremely kind and helpful, answering many of my questions and putting my mind at ease in the reception lobby. Overall, our experience mostly positive and if I had to point out any areas of improvement , it would be the overall bedside manners that the doctor provided with patients. With that being said, I would return.
