Everyone is so wonderful with animals here. I've had experience with all of the docs, and I've never been disappointed. They've been there for my dog in an emergency late on the weekend. I use the kennel when I'm away for my cat and dog. I highly recommend them!

Environment at Bartlesville Animal Hospital & Boarding Kennel

The environment at Bartlesville Animal Hospital & Boarding Kennel serves two primary functions: a medical facility and a boarding facility. As a "Pet Hospital," it would maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic setting crucial for medical procedures and overall animal health. This typically includes:

  • Clean Examination Rooms: Spaces for veterinary consultations and examinations are kept sterile to prevent the spread of illness.
  • Treatment and Surgical Areas: Dedicated areas equipped for medical treatments, diagnostics, and surgical procedures, adhering to proper veterinary standards.
  • Waiting Area: A reception and waiting area for clients and their pets, designed to be as calm and comfortable as possible.

For the "Boarding Kennel" aspect, the environment would include:

  • Individual Kennels/Runs: Safe and secure spaces for pets to stay during boarding, typically with adequate ventilation and cleaning protocols.
  • Exercise Areas: Designated spaces, either indoors or outdoors, for dogs to get exercise and relieve themselves.
  • Separate Areas for Cats: Often, boarding facilities will have separate, quieter areas for cats to minimize stress from dogs.

The dual nature of the facility implies careful management to ensure that the medical side maintains its sterility and calm, while the boarding side provides a comfortable and secure temporary home for pets. The positive feedback about how "Everyone is so wonderful with animals here" suggests a generally nurturing and caring atmosphere within the clinical and boarding spaces, contributing to a positive experience for the animals.

Services Offered

As a combined "Pet Hospital & Boarding Kennel," the facility offers a comprehensive range of services tailored to meet both the health and temporary lodging needs of pets. The services typically include:

  • Comprehensive Veterinary Medical Care: This encompasses a wide range of medical services from routine preventative care to advanced diagnostics and treatment.
    • Wellness & Preventive Care: Regular check-ups, vaccinations to protect against various diseases, and parasite control programs are fundamental to maintaining a pet's long-term health.
    • Diagnostic Services: This includes in-house laboratory testing (blood work, urinalysis, fecal exams) and imaging services (X-rays) to accurately diagnose illnesses and injuries.
    • Surgical Procedures: Common surgeries, such as spaying and neutering, as well as other soft tissue surgeries, would be offered.
    • Dental Care: Professional dental cleanings and other necessary dental procedures.
    • Emergency/Urgent Care: The review specifically mentions them being "there for my dog in an emergency late on the weekend," indicating a strong capability and responsiveness to urgent medical situations, even outside of regular business hours. This is a crucial service for pet owners.
    • Internal Medicine: Diagnosis and management of various internal medical conditions.
    • Pain Management: Strategies for alleviating both acute and chronic pain.
  • Pet Boarding Services: Providing a safe and caring environment for pets when their owners are away. This includes:
    • Dog Boarding: Accommodation for dogs, typically with daily feeding, exercise, and monitoring.
    • Cat Boarding: Dedicated spaces for cats, often separate from dogs to reduce stress. The client explicitly states they use the kennel for "my cat and dog," confirming this service.
    • Supervised Care: Staff monitors pets for their well-being, including appetite, waste, and general demeanor.
Features of Bartlesville Animal Hospital & Boarding Kennel

The facility exhibits several key features based on client feedback:

  • Consistent Quality of Veterinary Care Across Veterinarians: A significant feature is that clients have "had experience with all of the docs, and I've never been disappointed." This indicates a high and consistent standard of medical care across the entire veterinary team, fostering trust and reliability regardless of which specific doctor sees the pet.
  • Responsive Emergency Care: The ability to be "there for my dog in an emergency late on the weekend" is a critical feature that provides immense reassurance and value to pet owners, demonstrating their commitment to urgent patient needs.
  • Integrated Pet Services (Vet & Boarding): The convenience of having both comprehensive veterinary care and boarding services at one location is a major benefit for pet owners, streamlining their pet care needs.
  • Caring Interaction with Animals: The phrase "Everyone is so wonderful with animals here" highlights a pervasive culture of kindness and genuine care for pets throughout the staff. This creates a positive experience for the animals, which is paramount.
  • High Client Recommendation (with reservations): One client "highly recommend them!" indicating strong satisfaction with the core services.

However, it is crucial to also address concerns raised in the reviews:

  • Inconsistent Administrative Staff Experience: A significant negative feature highlighted is the unprofessionalism and rudeness experienced with the "lady at the front desk," leading to a client stating they "will definitely not be going back." This suggests a potential inconsistency in client service quality, particularly at the administrative level, which can significantly impact overall client satisfaction regardless of the medical care provided.
  • Service Request Oversight: The failure to trim nails as requested also points to an issue with attention to detail or communication within the staff regarding client requests.
Promotional Information

For local users, Bartlesville Animal Hospital & Boarding Kennel would aim to promote its dual benefits of comprehensive veterinary care and convenient boarding services. Key promotional messages would likely emphasize:

  • The high and consistent quality of medical care provided by their entire team of experienced veterinarians, capable of handling routine wellness to emergency situations.
  • Their responsiveness to urgent and after-hours pet emergencies, providing critical support when it's most needed.
  • The convenience and peace of mind offered by their integrated vet and boarding services, providing a trusted place for pets to stay while owners are away.
  • The generally wonderful and caring interactions that animals experience with the hospital staff, creating a comforting environment for pets.

However, in light of the negative feedback, it would be prudent for the hospital to internally address issues related to administrative staff professionalism and ensuring all client requests are fulfilled. While promoting the strengths of the veterinary team and emergency responsiveness, managing client expectations regarding all touchpoints of service, including the front desk, is important for sustained positive reputation. The existing strong positive reviews about the medical staff and emergency care are powerful testimonials, but the administrative issues, if not addressed, can significantly undermine these strengths. For new clients, the choice may depend on whether the core veterinary and emergency services outweigh concerns about potential administrative issues, based on their personal priorities for pet care.

They have always taken great care of our doggo. This time though they didn't trim his nails like we had requested. The lady at the front desk was very rude and acted like an ass to my wife and I. We will definitely not be going back.

I love this place because they handled my little dog very well. We had an emergency, she needed eye surgery right away and they were able to fix her up and help with weight management; However, this is the most expensive place I have found. My puppy needs services again, and I would love to go here and have their team do the surgery but I simply can’t afford it. We just paid off our pup’s first surgery, and an exam is $70. This is comparison to other places charging $54. To add, the staff is hit and miss with customer service. The vets at practice are sweet as can be, and very compassionate but their front desk needs work. I have talked to amazing people when my dog was seen, but everytime I have called I get a very unwelcoming conversation. It was the unwelcoming conversations that finally pushed me to look somewhere else for services. I’m fairly upset about looking elsewhere, and I’m even more upset with the lack of care and compassion I received on the phone. I love the veterinarian’s, but they really need to think about who they’re hiring at that desk. There is plenty of potential, just needs adjustments.

We had the unfortunate opportunity to need the services of Dr. Jeffery Williams & his staff at near closing time on a Monday night after traveling 10 hours with our two precious fur babies. Our 16.5-year-old boy couldn't stand up or even hold up his head & we knew we had to get his help. I immediately googled "veterinarian clinic near me," and Bartlesville Animal Hospital was still open for 20 minutes. I called and explained our traveling situation and was told to "come on." Once we arrived, the entire staff went into action and took our boy back; sadly, the outcome was not what we'd wanted, but he didn't die in pain; he wasn't alone, and he was surrounded by kind, caring & compassionate individuals that cared for us as much as they cared for him. They took their time, we never felt rushed, they allowed us to say our goodbyes properly and they ensured that our boy was taken care of to the best of their abilities. They could have charged us thousands of dollars, but they were honest and told us that at his age and with a ruptured spleen, there wasn't much to be done except to make him comfortable. They arranged for him to be cremated and then arranged to have his ashes sent to us at our home in Texas. We couldn't have asked for a kinder, more compassionate staff. Dr. Jeffery Williams would be our veterinarian if they were 10 hours closer to home.
