Welcome to Banfield Pet Hospital

This introduction focuses on Banfield Pet Hospital, located at 62 Veterans Memorial Hwy, Commack, NY 11725, USA. As a facility within the Pet Hospital category, Banfield aims to provide veterinary services for pets. While this specific hospital is in the United States, this overview can help local users in Singapore understand the range of experiences and services that a pet hospital might offer, allowing you to make informed decisions when choosing veterinary care for your animals.

Please remember that this contact information is for the Commack, New York location. For pet hospital services in Singapore, you will need to search for local veterinary clinics.

The customer reviews for this Banfield Pet Hospital present contrasting experiences. One review expresses profound gratitude for the compassionate and kind care provided by Dr. K and the staff during the difficult time of having to euthanize a 16-year-old dog named Maisy due to a collapsed trachea. The reviewer specifically mentions the loving support during Maisy's final moments and acknowledges the years of caring service Banfield provided. This testimonial highlights the hospital's capacity for empathy and long-term care.

In stark contrast, another reviewer recounts a very negative initial experience when bringing a puppy to Banfield, based on a family member's recommendation. This customer describes the receptionist as cold and feeling ignored. When asked to put the puppy on a scale, the puppy became scared. The staff then allegedly asked the owner to muzzle the puppy or put a collar around its throat, labeling it as having a "behavior problem." The reviewer felt unsupported, claiming that staff did not offer help with the scared puppy and were focused on a $200 charge associated with a potential contract. This individual strongly advises against visiting this Banfield, suggesting they are "deceiving" and primarily motivated by money, with a lack of care for the animal's well-being. They also mentioned a vet not coming into the room to help calm the situation and feeling ignored when asking for assistance.

A third very brief review advises against donating to this specific Banfield location in Commack, suggesting instead to donate to a "good rescue." This implies a negative perception of the hospital's priorities or how they utilize resources.

Considering these diverse perspectives, we can analyze potential aspects of Banfield Pet Hospital in Commack:

Environment: The reviews offer limited insight into the overall environment of the hospital. One negative review mentions the puppy being scared on the scale and the request for a muzzle or throat collar, which might suggest a potentially clinical or perhaps not entirely comforting environment for a nervous animal. However, the positive review focusing on end-of-life care implies a compassionate setting for such sensitive moments. A typical pet hospital should aim for cleanliness and functionality, but the perceived atmosphere can vary based on individual experiences and the specific circumstances of the visit.

Services: Based on the reviews, Banfield Pet Hospital in Commack offers at least the following services:

  • Euthanasia with compassionate support for the pet and family.
  • Vaccinations (mentioned in the context of the negative review's $200 charge).
  • Initial consultations and check-ups (implied by the negative review's experience).
  • Potential long-term care (as suggested by the 16 years of care mentioned in the positive review).

As part of a larger network, Banfield Pet Hospitals typically offer a range of other services, including routine wellness exams, dental care, microchipping, and treatment for illnesses and injuries. However, these are not explicitly detailed in the provided reviews for this specific location.

Features: Key features that can be inferred from the feedback include:

  • Compassionate End-of-Life Care: The positive review strongly highlights this aspect.
  • Potential for Contract-Based Service Models: The negative review mentions being "supposed to make a contract."
  • Varied Reception and Handling: One reviewer found the receptionist cold, and the handling of a scared puppy was perceived negatively.
  • Focus on Charges: The negative review emphasizes the cost and perceived lack of value in the initial interaction.

Promotional Information: The positive review, while not a formal promotion, serves as a strong testament to the compassionate care provided, particularly in sensitive situations like euthanasia. It implicitly promotes the hospital as a place that values the bond between pets and their owners. Conversely, the negative review actively discourages potential clients.

For local users in Singapore seeking a pet hospital, these reviews underscore the importance of considering various aspects, including the clinic's approach to handling animals (especially those that are anxious), the clarity of their consultation processes and associated costs, and the overall empathy and support demonstrated by the staff. It is often beneficial to seek recommendations from other pet owners and to look for clinics with consistently positive feedback across a range of services.

In conclusion, Banfield Pet Hospital in Commack, NY, appears to be a place where some pet owners have found compassionate care, particularly during difficult times. However, other experiences suggest potential issues with initial interactions, handling of nervous animals, and perceived cost transparency. When choosing a Pet Hospital in Singapore, it is crucial to research and consider multiple factors to ensure you find a clinic that aligns with your pet's needs and your expectations for veterinary care. Reading local reviews and perhaps speaking with the clinic beforehand about their procedures and costs can be helpful steps.

I was suggested to take my puppy to Banfield recommended by a family member It was a nightmare The receptionist Lori was very cold and ignored me. Finally, she said, put him on the scale. He got scared. They asked me to go into the room being that the puppy was scared they wanted Me to muzzle him or put a collar around his throat Said he had a behavior problem they they have the behavior problem They鈥檙e gonna charge me $200 when I was supposed to make a contract with them This Banfield is very deceiving. They weren鈥檛 there to help me. They didn鈥檛 care about this little puppy. I asked him could you help me they wouldn鈥檛 help me pick him up. They shouldn鈥檛 be in business they really shouldn鈥檛 I would never never recommend anyone to bring their dog there and to charge me $200 for some shots and half the stuff she was telling me the tech I don鈥檛 even know what she was talking about The vet never came into the room, never calmed the situation. The poor little thing was running around, and I asked somebody to help me. None of them help me totally ignored me. I finally picked him up. It was severely raining out. I put the blanket on him, I covered him up and in waterproof jacket and I put him in my car. They鈥檙e a disgrace they all out for the money and deceiving. They should be Investigated I hope they have a video of my situation Do not donate to this Banfield.Commack Donate to a good rescue. Anything you have give to a good rescue? Not them!

This Banfield is the absolute best! My dogs have been coming here for years because of the excellent service they receive and the friendly and knowledgable staff! Jenelle is an amazing Vet Tech who always goes above and beyond and Dr. Kremelbein is always so thorough in her examinations and has an excellent bedside manner! Thank you for caring as much about my pets as I do.
