No one wants to work here. Come here if you literally want to waste your time. I came in 20 minutes early for an appointment just to be told that the vet is on his lunch break and to come back later. I didn’t remember to bring my vaccination records but I could go and get it and I would make it back for my appointment but I would be 10 minutes late. I was told that the Dr. Nardi won’t see me if I was more than 5 minutes late and I offered to email the paperwork so that it would make it in time for the scheduled appontment. However, the receptionist told me that I don’t need my cat’s phone vaccination records because we wouldn’t need a vaccine today. I’m waiting for the appointment and the vet is 20 minutes late to our appointment and then the nurse or vet tech or whatever she was tells me that the vet won’t see my cat unless I have proof of my rabies vaccine (which i don’t have but could’ve gotten) and says to go elsewhere even though my cat is sick/having an emergency. I said I could go back and get it and she said that the vet won’t see my cat because there’s an another appointment in 15 minutes and to reschedule. I literally just wasted my time and could’ve just gone elsewhere to get better care. Every other vet besides Banfield has always been so helpful, caring, and accommodating. I’ve never been to a veterinary hospital this disorganized and unhelpful and had a vet so unwilling to help.

These typically include routine wellness examinations, which are important for monitoring your pet's overall health and detecting potential issues early. During these check-ups, a veterinarian will conduct a physical examination and discuss any concerns you may have about your pet's health, behavior, or lifestyle. Preventative care, such as vaccinations and parasite control, is also a key component of the services offered. Vaccinations help protect your pet against various infectious diseases, and our team can advise you on the appropriate vaccination schedule based on your pet's individual needs and risk factors. Parasite control is essential for preventing infestations of fleas, ticks, heartworms, and other parasites that can harm your pet's health.

While the provided information does not detail the full scope of services offered at the Watchung location, pet hospitals like Banfield typically provide a range of other medical services. These may include diagnostic services to help identify the cause of illness or injury, such as laboratory testing and imaging (e.g., X-rays). They often offer pet dental care services, which can include routine cleanings, dental examinations, and treatment for dental diseases. Additionally, basic surgical procedures, such as spaying and neutering, may be available. For more specialized or emergency veterinary care, it is advisable to inquire directly with the hospital about their capabilities and whether they offer emergency services or have referral arrangements with nearby specialty clinics.

Customer experiences with Banfield Pet Hospital in Watchung appear to be mixed, based on the limited reviews provided. One customer shared a significantly negative experience, detailing issues with appointment scheduling, perceived inflexibility regarding tardiness and vaccination records, a considerable wait time for the veterinarian, and ultimately being turned away despite their cat having a potential emergency. This customer expressed strong dissatisfaction with the level of organization and helpfulness encountered at this particular Banfield location, contrasting it unfavorably with other veterinary hospitals.

In contrast, another customer reported a positive experience specifically with a billing representative named Arlene. While this customer stated they had not had enough overall experience with the hospital and their pet to make a full review, they highlighted Arlene's professionalism, patience, and the excellent customer service they received during their interaction regarding billing matters. This suggests that while there may be concerns regarding certain aspects of the hospital's operations, some staff members are recognized for providing positive customer service in specific areas.

Given these limited and contrasting reviews, it is difficult to form a comprehensive overall assessment of Banfield Pet Hospital in Watchung. The negative review raises serious concerns about appointment management, communication, and the willingness to provide care in what was perceived as an emergency situation. The positive feedback regarding the billing representative suggests that there may be competent and helpful staff members in certain roles. Local users considering Banfield Pet Hospital in Watchung for their pet's care should be aware of these differing experiences.

When choosing a pet hospital, it is often beneficial to consider multiple factors, including the range of services offered, the hospital's environment, the qualifications and demeanor of the staff, and the experiences of other pet owners. Given the starkly contrasting reviews available for the Watchung location, it may be prudent for local users to inquire further about the hospital's current practices, staffing levels, and protocols, especially regarding appointment scheduling, emergency care, and communication regarding pet health records. Visiting the facility in person, if possible, may also provide valuable insight into the environment and the interactions between staff and pets.

The provided information does not include any specific promotional offers for Banfield Pet Hospital in Watchung. However, as part of a larger network, Banfield often has various promotions or wellness plans available. These plans typically bundle routine veterinary services for a monthly fee and can help manage the costs of preventative care. Local users may wish to inquire directly with the hospital about any current promotions or the details of their Wellness Plans to determine if they would be a beneficial option for their pet's care and their budget.

In conclusion, Banfield Pet Hospital in Watchung, NJ, offers a range of veterinary services for local pet owners. However, the limited customer reviews present contrasting experiences, with one detailing significant issues related to appointment handling and emergency care, while another praised the customer service received from a billing representative. Local users are encouraged to consider these perspectives and to conduct their own due diligence when choosing a pet hospital for their animal companions, including inquiring directly about the hospital's services, policies, and current practices.

I haven't had enough experience with the hospital and my pet to make a review. But I have spoke with Arlene a representative from billing and my experience was excellent. She was very professional and patient. The customer service I've received in knowing has been excellent.

To say that I am frustrated is an understatement. I scheduled an appointment for my cat a few weeks ago. I received a call after scheduling that I need to reschedule because the doctor was not going to be in that day. So I listened and rescheduled the appointment. Received another call to let me know that the day I chose was not going to work anymore so I rescheduled to today. My cat is not easy to put into her pet bag but was able to do so, even after receiving a little scratch. We get to this Banfield and was told the doctor could not see her today because he’s busy all day. The fact that I did not receive a phone call, text or email and I am being told this at the appointment she was supposed to have is unacceptable. It is also not a great look on their part to have a system where you actually schedule an appointment and you show up to only be told that they are busy that day. I did my part in rescheduling a couple different times and it’s quite unfortunate that they cannot do their part in keeping their appointments. This is absolutely ridiculous and only pushes me further into looking for another veterinarian for both my cat and dog.

Will never come back. Would give 0 stars if I could. We have been taking our cats here for over 8+ years. We came in with a concern with our elderly cat suddenly having a large tummy. We knew it could not be pregnancy because we were positive she was neutered and released as a kitten, so we asked if we could do testing or an ultrasound to see if there’s anything else wrong. The vet told us it is likely a pregnancy and we could not do an ultrasound until she was closer to giving birth. Once again, she is an elderly cat (10+ years old) that we have been taking to Banfield for 8+ years and there was no way she was pregnant. They have everything about her on file. We informed them that something is definitely wrong and to see if there’s anything else we can do, they said again it’s likely pregnancy. If you don’t have the equipment to do a super thorough check, tell us instead of dismissing us with false information!! We were super unconvinced, so immediately after her appointment, we took her to an emergency vet clinic on Route 22. Within an hour, they learned it was stage four cancer that develops very quickly and only had a few weeks left to live, if not less. Her stomach getting large was due to fluid from the cancer. Thank goodness for them for actually taking time to assess our cat because if we listened to Banfield, she would’ve lived her last days in pain. That’s not even the worst part. She passed away a few weeks later and we called Banfield to cancel her wellness plan since she passed. They told us we couldn’t and had to continue paying monthly until the yearly plan finished. What do you mean we have to continue paying our dead cats wellness plan?? It was so unreal and unbelievable, we also took our other cat off the plan as soon as it let us. Does all this company care about is money? Never will I ever come to Banfield again. I will be taking my other cat to a vet office who cares. If you have a serious concern for your animals, don’t rely on them at all to care about them or listen to you.

Experienced a long wait for my drop off service. Never spoke with a veterinarian even though I was told that my puppy may have had an ear infection. No follow up on that call! I hope next visit is better.
