Dr McGuire literally saved my dog's life. She is kind, understanding, and not judgmental. It is really expensive to care for a dog with an ongoing medical issue, but she works with me to find the best medication and care for my dog while not taking advantage of us financially, which I cannot say for other vets. The staff always greets my dog by name and are always pleasant to work with. We go monthly so we see them more than the average person, and I've never had a bad experience. I drive out of my way to come to this office because of the level of care we receive.

Banfield Pet Hospital Introduce

For pet owners in Brentwood, Tennessee, Banfield Pet Hospital, located at 4900 Thoroughbred Ln Ste B6, provides a variety of veterinary services as a part of the "Pet Hospital" category. Reviews offer mixed perspectives on the clinic experience.

One customer shared a highly positive experience with Dr. McGuire, stating that she saved their dog's life and is kind, understanding, and non-judgmental. They also appreciated Dr. McGuire's willingness to work with them on managing the costs of ongoing medical care and noted that the staff always greets their dog by name and are pleasant to work with. This suggests a caring and attentive veterinary team.

However, another recent review described a negative experience with the front desk staff. This customer reported being given incorrect information over the phone regarding a walk-in visit and then being treated rudely upon arrival, particularly by a staff member named Betty. The issue centered around the lack of immediate proof of rabies vaccination for a dog the customer was sitting. While the need for vaccination records was eventually explained by a nurse, the initial interaction was described as unhelpful and confrontational. This review highlighted a significant issue with customer service at the front desk.

Overall, Banfield Pet Hospital in Brentwood appears to have dedicated and compassionate veterinary professionals like Dr. McGuire. Sharing my recent experience as it was absolutely atrocious. I called in advance to confirm if I could bring a dog in I was sitting for gland expression because the night before she had started leaking (dogs normal vet was closed over the weekend, which I disclosed) The woman on the phone was very nice & confirmed I could just walk in no issues and get on the list to be seen that day. When I arrived, Betty, the front desk woman, was less than kind to me. She asked if I had an appt, I told her no, what I was there for and that I had called & was told I didn’t need an appt. Her tone was rude from then on. She asked me for my number, when nothing pulled up rudely asked if I “had ever even been there before” when I told her no, in her continued rude tone, shortly asked if I had paper proof of the dogs rabies shot. I told her I didn’t have anything on me because she wasn’t my dog and I was told I could just come in. She sighed and rudely said “I guess I can ask them but they’re gonna need proof of rabies” as she walked away I did comment towards her that she could be a little nicer (however I was not upset yet, just confused why she was being so sassy) When she came back out, she said “yeah sorry nothing we can do until you have it” and attempted to move on to the next customer completely ignoring me. I tried to let her know that the dog had a rabies tag and we really needed this to be done but she didn’t give anymore time to me. So understanding that proof of rabies is obviously important and clearly having a tag isn’t proof enough for this establishment, I sat down to call the owners to see what we could do. I was very stressed, and it took me a while to get ahold of the owners so I was sitting in the waiting area, tears streaming down my face trying to hold it together. While I was there, another patient came out and Betty again, very rudely, said “ma’am you’re gonna need to move to the other side” (zero explanation of why) the patient said “oh it’s okay, I’m sorry my dog can just get kind of grumpy with other pups”. So I said no worries I can definitely move farther away. Later on, I’m finally speaking with the owner again trying to discuss what I’m going to do with the dog, I was crying and also told the owner that I was just stressed and the woman at the vet was being rude and I was just at a loss. In the middle of my conversation Betty took it upon herself to yell across the waiting area “excuse me ma’am, I was not being rude to you”. That was the final straw that escalated me. I 100% reacted and she told me “that’s just you’re opinion” and grabbed a nurse to come talk to me (I’ll disclose I was angry and cuss words did leave my mouth) The nurse was amazing, and explained that the reason they needed the paperwork is because the dog had never been there before & would need a routine exam. (Makes sense, why Betty couldn’t have just said that from the get go and been kind about it I’ll never know) while talking to the nurse she was rolling her eyes and saying things like “I am just sooo sorry about this” to another patient checking in. Betty chose violence that day and was escalating the situation on purpose. She must’ve missed her customer service and empathy training day. Needless to say, despite the reasoning being valid of why I wasn’t going to be able to utilize their services, Betty made the experience so awful that there isn’t a chance in hell I would recommend this hospital. I can admit I definitely reacted to the situation, but not until after Betty pushed my final button. The nurses seem great, you’ll just have to get through the wrath of Betty beforehand.

Dear Banfield Pet Hospital Management, I am writing to express my profound disappointment regarding a recent visit to your Brentwood, TN location at 4600 Thoroughbred Lane. My experience fell drastically short of the standard of care I expect, and I believe it warrants a thorough investigation. Initially, I felt rushed and disregarded by the veterinary technician. The lack of engagement and apparent prioritization of a personal break over patient care left me deeply concerned. Witnessing this technician seemingly prioritize her lunch over attending to my pet's needs was particularly unsettling. This lack of attentiveness created a stressful environment from the outset. My concerns were further exacerbated by my interaction with Dr. Anna Winsor. The doctor's demeanor was unprofessional and alarming. Her aggressive and frantic behavior, characterized by raised voices and a rushed approach, created an atmosphere of intense anxiety. This level of stress was detrimental to both my ability to communicate my pet's needs effectively and, I fear, to my pet's overall well-being. The lack of calm and professional conduct was completely unacceptable. The complete absence of empathy and professionalism from both the technician and Dr. Windsor was deeply disheartening. Veterinary care requires a delicate balance of skill and compassion; this visit lacked both. My pet’s well-being was compromised by the rushed and stressful atmosphere. I left feeling profoundly dissatisfied and anxious about the quality of care my pet received. This was not my usual Banfield location, but its proximity to my new home made it a convenient choice. However, after this appalling experience, I will be seeking veterinary care elsewhere and will strongly advise others to reconsider visiting this particular branch. I urge you to address these serious concerns to ensure that other pet owners do not endure a similar ordeal.

15 years ago, this place was good, but lately all there has been is mistake after mistake. The staff confused an eight year old female cat with a three month old male cat with one eye. I brought my animals three times for teeth cleaning, it wasn't put on the schedule as such, wasting my time and stressing out my animals, as I had to reschedule every time.

Dr. Herman has been my doggies vet for all the years of their lives and he cares for them like family. The entire staff is kind, efficient and you can tell they love pets. They go out of their way to welcome them and make them feel loved.
