I had dropped off my cat earlier today to try a new vet. She received vaccinations and some medication for an ear infection. My cat loves people and is super affectionate even with strangers, always has been great at vets in the past. However when I went to pick her up today since I had to drop her off to go in the back where I couldn't see her, they told me she wasn't good and was borderline aggressive and misbehaving. My cat has never had an issue before this with people at all, not even other animals. On the car ride home she always meows her head off because she hates car rides, and she didn't make a single sound which I found very odd. After getting her home her ears were tucked low and she seemed scared and very sad in a way I cant explain. MY SWEET BABY WAS NOT WHO I PICKED UP TODAY. I also noticed she had dried blood on her back leg near the top of her paw that matted her fur. With a vaccine appt and an ear infection there shouldn't be any reason for her leg to be bloody with fur matted. My cat has been acting so scared and sad ever since I picked her up, I'm worried that my baby might have been mistreated horribly by staff and I would never bring her or any of my other pets back to this place again. I have also seen similar reviews saying that pets were scared and acting differently when they were picked back up from this vet. I am afraid there is some SERIOUS ISSUES with staff being aggressive with these animals however no one can be sure since your pet has to be dropped off and taken back to an area where you cant see them. These vaccines and a simple ear check took over 5 hours? Why is my cat completely different from her normal self? Why have I seen so many reviews saying animal behaviors changed for the worst after coming here? I am very upset and hope no one ever decides to take their pet here. I just hope my poor baby is okay after god only knows what she went through today.

Banfield Pet Hospital Introduce
Welcome to Banfield Pet Hospital, your local Pet Hospital Near You, located at 1450 Spring Meadows Dr in Holland, Ohio. As a national chain, Banfield aims to provide a range of veterinary services for pets. However, it is important for local users to be aware that recent online customer reviews for this specific location raise significant concerns regarding the care provided and the customer service experience.
The environment at this Banfield Pet Hospital is described indirectly through negative experiences. One customer was troubled by the fact that pet owners are not allowed to accompany their animals to the back for treatments, leading to uncertainty about what occurs. The report of a cat returning home scared and with unexplained blood suggests that the environment or handling procedures may be distressing for some animals. Another review highlights a lack of helpfulness and a rude demeanor from a veterinarian when a pet owner sought guidance on a related product.
At this Banfield Pet Hospital, the services offered include routine vaccinations and treatment for conditions like ear infections. However, one customer reported a seemingly long wait time of over five hours for these services and expressed concern about the handling of their cat during this time. Another customer sought advice on an over-the-counter product related to their puppy's ear infection but was met with a dismissive and unprofessional response from a doctor. These experiences suggest potential inconsistencies in the quality of care and a lack of comprehensive support for pet owners' needs.
A concerning feature highlighted in the reviews is the policy of taking pets to an area where owners cannot observe treatments, which has led to suspicion of mistreatment in at least one instance. The reported behavioral changes in pets after visits, along with the specific incident of a cat returning with unexplained blood, are significant red flags. Additionally, the unprofessional and unhelpful behavior of a veterinarian towards a concerned pet owner raises serious questions about the clinic's customer service standards. Local users should be aware of these negative experiences when considering this Banfield Pet Hospital for their pet's care.
Currently, there is no positive promotional information available for this specific Banfield Pet Hospital location. The recent customer reviews strongly suggest caution, and potential clients may want to seek veterinary care elsewhere based on these reported experiences.

Mar 19, 2025 · Lauren SmithI liked this vet up until today. 2/15/25. My golden retriever puppy goes here. The first lady I talked to was super nice answered all of my questions and concerns with lots of detail. My puppy has a ear infection and I was told that I needed to get something to clean her ear (besides the antibiotics I paid for) PetSmart had multiple solutions and I wasn't sure which one would be the best. So I went up to the desk rang the bell and waited for someone to come out (which one no big deal I was in no hurry) I waited about 5 mins no one came out so I rang the bell again. The actual doctor came out all in a huff and was screaming and yelling at me telling me she couldn't help me it wasn't her problem and she was going into emergency surgery. That it was a PetSmart product and I needed to find someone who worked at the actual store to help me and slammed the door to the office! Which I found very rude and uncalled for. I understand that her job is life and death and also very stressful. But she also needs to learn customer service. Once my dogs plan is up in September she will NEVER be going back to that vet!
Feb 15, 2025 · Kimberlee StuardI’ve been a Banfield client for going on 20 years. The staff at Springfield Meadows is amazing. It’s the only place our anxious dog will go without barking her head off. They say she’s always a model patient! I was a Banfield client in California and just continued with them when we moved to Ohio. But this Ohio team exceeds my expectations. I could not be more satisfied with any vet practice. Here are photos of two of our babies, Carson and Phoebe.
Jun 27, 2024 · Carol Reece FarrellI’ve been taking my pets to Banfield Pet Hospital for about four years now and have never had any issues. Last October, I rescued a Husky-Golden Retriever mix and started taking her there because we’ve had great luck with our other dog. Yesterday, when I took her for her comprehensive exam, everything seemed fine at first, but when I came to pick her up, things went south. For starters, the vet was condescending when talking to me. I get that I am younger, but that is no excuse. She began by telling me how “aggressive” and “mean” my dog was, which is not the case at all. She is the biggest cuddle baby and wouldn’t hurt a fly. The vet then told me that I needed to work on crate training, even though she has been crate trained since she was 6 months old (she’s now 16 months). She told me it was necessary to look into things to get her “under control.” So, my experience at the vet was not pleasant. The only good thing was the vet techs and receptionist, who talked to me and explained things clearly. After getting her home, she was not acting like herself. She was flinching when I went to pet her and was acting very sad. She is usually a very playful dog, but she wanted nothing to do with playing last night. This morning, she was still acting very skittish and just not herself. The way I see it, pets are family and should be treated as such. I feel as if my fur baby was not treated with respect; in fact, she left in utter fear. Needless to say, I will not be taking my dog back here.
Oct 29, 2024 · Madelin DuShaneThe Drs and staff do a great job, but the pharmacy mark-up is insane. They wanted $80 for two prescriptions, I got the scripts and got the prescriptions filled elsewhere for $15. This price gouging is ridiculous in these economic times... Just get the script and go somewhere else and get them filled.
