Banfield Pet Hospital

My cat had an infected tooth that required complicated treatment. Banfield recommended a Vet Dental Specialist in Seattle, which charged me approximately $700 for a consultation and quoted around $4500 for the procedure, including a tooth biopsy. However, I decided to seek a second opinion from a much higher-rated clinic, which ended up costing me $640. At this point, we prefer to take our pets to reasonably priced clinics that provide excellent care rather than opting for chain veterinary practices that either overcharge or refers us to one. On a positive note, the service at this Banfield was generally good.

This Francise has screwed me over 3 times. Most recently they diagnosed amputation of my GS’s dewclaw after they had stitched it up and said it (their work) didn’t heal right, and said she needed antibiotics before surgery, but refused to treat her any further acter demanding additional fees to remove the stitches, which I had previoudly vonfirmed twice that removal of stitches was included in the $700 cost to stitch her up Here’s the details: When we checked out the day they stitched her up I asked if the follow up appointment was included in the $700 charge for stitches and they said yes. Then at the time I scheduled the appointment to have stitches removed, I confirmed that there would be no additional charge, (they said correct). But after they removed her stitches and said it failed so her dewclaw needed to be amputated (surgery) and she needed more antibiotics before surgery, they insisted I pay an office fee before I left or they wouldn’t give her antibiotics or bandage her up, or give her an eCollar to prevent her from licking her ipen wound that $700 did not repair So I went to Renton Highland vet clinic that diagnosed “no need to amputate” her dewclaw, gave her an eCollar and antibiotics, and it healed in just over a weel. So happy she didn’t have to go under anesthesia and long-term recovery. Super happy I didn’t have to pay Banfield for unnecessary surgery after paying $700 for stitches and getting rejected for not paying $85 to have the stitches remove, smh

Not only do they not explain to you that you are signing up for a 12-month contract for their wellness plan, but even if your pet dies, you're still going to pay an exorbitant amount of money to get out of the contract. I hope there is a class action lawsuit for their practice. Further, when I did have my dog, I scheduled a luxury grooming session, and he didn't receive any of the perks or grooming care I paid for. I couldn't take him back for the services and shouldn't have had to! Stay away from them. They are unethical. **Update**: They keep saying they want me to contact them to help out, but they don’t. Their response is I need to pay them and can’t cancel until they get their money.

They were able to get my cats in for some illnesses that they are having. We are still in the process of figuring out what is causing them to get sick - and having this vet chain where we can call and go in to get them checked and cared for has been very helpful. God bless!

I’m honestly disgusted with this place. Before the vet even gave my fur baby an exam it started at $500…. Hmmm. When you haven’t even seen him or know what’s going on? I told THEM he has an upper respiratory infection. I’m no professional but I’ve had animals my whole life and I KNOW my animals It’s very clean and the front desk girls are so nice but my appointment was at 2:30. We didn’t even see a vet tech till 3, didn’t see the vet till 3:30. And it was all but a 15 min exam.What’s the point of making an appointment? None apparently. Ended up getting out of there because I told them I need to leave at 3:45. Paid the $105 for the exam and some meds and got the hell out of there. Apparently my cat needed all these tests and a chest ex ray , they use a scare tactic that “oh he could have aids or asthma” - he’s 8 months old and perfectly healthy aside from his obvious symptoms of an upper res. infection. I took my cat straight to another vet after leaving and they gave him a shot of antibiotics and some hairball gel for his food , and YOU GUESSED IT, he has an upper respiratory infection! They didn’t need to give him any extra $250 tests or an X-ray- he had TEXT BOOK symptoms. They are truly just in it for the money. I’ll never bring any of my pets back here and I’ll NEVER recommend them.
