Everyone here is great! Dr. Manu has been a life saver. He stopped the progression of dementia in our dog! Brilliant!!

My husband brought our 5 month old Australian Shepherd in for her first visit to get her shots and sign up for care plan. Sounds easy, right? You’d be wrong. We saw Dr. Manu and let me tell you, his attitude was inappropriate, rude and disrespectful. He told us that “this dog is over a year old” when we got her in April of 2024 at around 8 weeks old. She is nowhere near a year old. The attitude we received was uncalled for. We were told he “didn’t care about a birth certificate” and that “he knew what he was talking about” and when my husband tried to explain that he was wrong and was not in fact over a year old, THE DR LEFT THE ROOM. This is unacceptable and we will be reporting him to whoever we need to in order to make sure this doesn’t happen to anyone else. It’s very sad because we used to love bringing our other pets here. We will never be back, and we’re going to make sure all of our other furry friend owners do the same. Do better Banfield.

Going to Banfield was the biggest mistake we ever made in our decades of pet parenting. When we sold our primary residence to spend some time seeing this great nation we thought it made sense for us to bring our pooch to Banfield since they have clinics nationwide. That is a gimmick that doesn’t pan out in real life. Before they even saw our dog they pushed their Optimum Wellness Plan on us. Pay monthly and all preventative care and office visits would be covered. We were told if we didn’t buy this plan we would be whacked in the wallet with very large vet bills for our visits. At the visit the doctor seemed less than caring. Our dog has very bad allergies that don’t respond to typical allergy medications like apoquel or cytopoint. After months of trying to figure it out his previous vet landed on kenalog, it’s a steroid so it isn’t the best for him, but at least it is effective. We would take him in once a month and he would get a shot and his allergies would calm. Banfield treated us as though we were abusing our dog, and not just this Banfield, but every one we took him to. She just kept saying “that’s old school” and it “isn’t my standard practice” before pushing cytopoint on us. As in the past it didn’t work at all… About a month later we took him to a Banfield in New Jersey to try to get him some relief, same answer, same attitude of “why would you do that to your dog?!” as though we were willy-nilly shooting our dog up with steroids and didn’t try anything else first. It took forever to reach the conclusion we did and Banfield is not only trying to reinvent the wheel here, they are refusing to make it round. Fortunately for our little buddy, he had an ear infection that required prednisone, and that took care of his allergies also, but once that ran out we were to switch to apoquel. Apoquel doesn’t take care of his allergies completely like kenalog did, but it does slow him down some on chewing his paws and his butt and licking at the air with his tongue. For the last month he has been miserable. He’s back to chewing on himself incessantly. When it was time to refill his apoquel the Banfield near us refused because that particular doctor hadn’t seen him. We weren’t asking them to write a new prescription, we were asking them to fill the refill that the previous doctor put on there when we got it. And here’s the thing about that “Optimum Wellness Plan,” even though it allegedly covered our office visits we somehow left every visit paying more than a usual visit to his previous vet, which is where he is going on today. Banfield might seem like a panacea from the outside but it is built on a pile of lies. They use vet care as a cover to fleece you of your money, and then don’t even give your pet the care they need and deserve! I think it is simple; if you love your pet, choose a different vet!

Dr Williams , Ruth , Lauren, Pam, Jacelyn, Tori, & Tiffany were so loving, kind and professional during my recent visit with my Lasapoo Wyatt. Wyatt was poisoned somehow and he was on his deathbed when I arrived. This team of incredible people diagnosed, treated and performed several follow ups throughout the weekend until my baby was out of the woods. Thank you all very much for the outstanding care you gave Wyatt. He’s made a full recovery. They treat your fur baby just like human doctor office would treat you. They listen to your concerns about your fur baby. They call and check up on them, after certain procedures. I'm grateful to have Banfield Pet Hospital part of my fur baby health plan. ♥️
