I have one of the optimum wellness plans through Banfield and let me tell you it is so helpful it how covers routine visits, illness appointments, vaccinations and dental cleanings for my cat. But what I really love about this location is the staff. The front desk girl I usually see is very sweet and takes her time, she is always so helpful. And I absolutely love Dr Riley! She is such a sweetheart, very knowledgeable, insightful and just personable; a genuine person and her passion and compassion for animal care gleams from her. I really appreciate how Dr Riley takes her time with me, hearing any concerns I have and doesn't rush with me, and she gives great advice. I am so grateful for the good holistic care she gives my Kiva. I've taken Kiva another Banfield location and coming home she was not her usual happy, carefree self afterwards, but I take her to this location and she's immediately chirping, she's happy, playful, and purring, I know she had a good time regardless of it being a strange place for her--and this speaks volumes of the kind of care she receives especially considering she's a cat. Finding a good veterinarian and vet tech staff can be a difficult thing to do, as I have personally experienced, and I just have nothing but amazing things to say about them! I trust my baby with them 100%!

We’re choosing to share our experiences with the veterinary staff at Banfield in hopes that no one experiences the same negligence and ultimately, loss of a pet, while receiving care from Banfield. The facility is managed less like a veterinary care facility and more like a cash-grabbing machine that has no regard for the lives they're entrusted with. We’d invested in the "Optimum Wellness Plan" for our dogs because we know surprise vet bills are common and we actively stay on top of our pets’ medical care. The wellness plans are marketed as if they were created to help pets receive best practice veterinary care, yet when the time comes when the animal is unwell and needs extra attention to return to a state of wellness, Banfield, Dr. Barto, Dr. Riley, and their staff neglected offering additional care options for our pup. Was this because his care would have been covered at a cheaper cost and thus, they couldn’t bill the full amount for it? This is a thought I will have to live with. We had 2 visits to Banfield where warning signs of potential disease were present, but never disclosed. The first visit was in April 2024 for a comprehensive check up, the second visit was in August 2024 for GI issues. There were elevated levels found in his blood tests on both occasions that inferred underlying disease might be at play. However, these elevated levels were never disclosed to us - not in April, nor in August. When his GI issues persisted, we expected something might have been missed, but our voices were ignored. We went to an emergency vet for care and a second opinion as his symptoms were progressing. The vast difference in care and compassion at the other facility was immediate and evident. After receiving this second opinion at a non-Banfield facility, it was confirmed our pup had intestinal cancer, a lethal oversight by Banfield, Dr. Barto, and Dr. Riley. Less than 2 weeks after confirming that large, cancerous masses were present, our pup's condition had deteriorated so rapidly and his suffering was so imminent that we had to put him down. Not only did we have to incur thousands of dollars in bills from the emergency vet where we received our second opinion, we lost our pup due to negligent veterinary care. While Banfield has verbally recognized the errors in their treatment stating his case will be used to develop their staff moving forward, they refuse to take 100% accountability for the life lost at their hands and the financial hardship we endured since they refused to provide quality medical care to our dog. We also requested our care plan be cancelled as we felt Banfield wasn't providing the services promised when we contracted the plan. Initially, they refused to cancel our "Optimum Wellness Plan" and stated we owed the difference in the remainder of our plan. We had to go to great lengths to get the charges with Banfield dismissed - which they eventually did dismiss (after we had to file multiple complaints with their corporate office). Our release from these charges was noted as their recognition of the treatment they failed to provide. They don't believe they're accountable for the additional costs we had to take on to get a second opinion. The same second opinion we were forced to seek due to negligence from Banfield staff. I would never recommend Banfield (or their staff) to anyone. The lack of proper veterinary care and negligence ultimately cost us our pet. I hope by sharing the story of our experience, others can learn from our misfortune and loss by finding alternative care options for their pets.

*Edited* after speaking with the practice manager today, my positive opinion of this location has been restored. She validated my experience, apologize profusely, and assured me that the matter was being resolved with the vet tech and question. She set a great example for what good customer service following a negative experience can look like. Up until today, I’ve had a great experience with this particular location. The doctors have been super helpful and understanding as I’ve had to bring in my 14-year-old black lab more often due to recurring UTIs and overall health issues brought on by aging. Today, however, was an extremely negative experience. After being on a third round of antibiotics this year for recurring urinary tract infections, my sweet lab stopped eating and was acting lethargic. I called Banfield and asked if I should make an appointment to have her looked at, and they confirmed that they like to have her back in. Today, as I got her checked in, the vet tech taking her back treated me with unbelievable disrespect and coldness. When she asked me if my dog’s poor appetite could’ve been the result of getting into something, I tried to explain the timeline of events leading up to this visit. Her symptoms were similar to those I saw last summer and it felt pertinent to me to offer that information. The vet tech interrupted me several times, and at one point, literally scoffed at me as I tried to clarify our experience over the last year. I’m shocked at the lack of compassion and empathy offered to someone bringing their very old, unwell dog in for care. I’m really hoping this is a one off experience, as the last thing I want to do is try to find a new vet for my 14-year-old dog who is clearly living her final months.

Booked an appointment for my dog, for 1030 for a I room visit. I was contacted a couple hours before letting me know it’s a drop off and that don’t know what to tell me it’s no longer in room. When I told them that’s not what was booked or confirmed she continued to say idk what to say. Awful experience, never had this happen with a banfield before. We take all three of our dogs to Banfield and pay for wellness packages.
