Banfield Pet Hospital

I have been taking my dog to this location for 12 years. They have always shown so much care, kindness, and professionalism. In the past couple of years, my dog was diagnosed with cancer and has been receiving treatment remotely for that from another vet in conjunction with the care he receives here. The staff has gone ABOVE and beyond to make sure they are working with me and the other facility regularly so that he receives the highest level of support locally. It's been a much better experience, given the circumstances, thanks to them. I am very pleased with their great team for all they've done for me and my dog. Thanks.

I want to be honest and complete with my review. I have been bringing my pets to the Alabaster Banfield for almost 10 years, and I have been very happy with most of the vets. They are always able to get me in the same day that I call, and have always been very nice to me and my animals. That said, a recent incident has really soured me against this clinic, and I am ending my 3 pet's wellness plans. I have a male cat that has gotten bladder crystals in the past. In the past this clinic has been able to treat him. Last weekend however I paid almost $700 for an xray, bloodwork, and for the vet to tell me that they no longer have staff that are capable of catheterizing him. $260 of that bill was an expert consult for the x-ray because they weren't confident reading it. The consult was never used, as they recommended I take him to the ER. I later was able to take him to Hope animal clinic, who was able to treat him, but not before spending 1400 on first Banfield and then the ER. This was a massive cost that would have been significantly less if I had taken him to Hope to begin with. I'm not happy paying the amount I do for the wellness plans if it seems like the vets there are only confident giving vaccines.

I just wanted to thank and show my appreciation to Dr. Krol and the entire staff at Banfield in Alabaster. I took my dog in for her comprehensive exam and routine vaccines and unfortunately she experienced a reaction. When picking her up she began vomiting but I believed at the time it was her nerves and the vomiting was due to anxiety. We left, and I wasn’t even 5 minutes down the road when I knew something was terribly wrong and that she was in distress. I called to let them know I was bringing her back and upon arriving the doctor was outside waiting for us and immediately got my pup back inside to care for her. The care and concern they ALL showed my girl and the patience they had with me during the entire ordeal was amazing. They kept her for monitoring and I called multiple times to check on her. The doctor thoroughly answered all of my questions each time (I had a lot of them), and not once did he make me feel as if I was a bother to him. He was so patient and very knowledgeable and showed that he truly cares for our fur babies. I just want to say thank you guys so much and I am grateful for the love and care you showed my girl and myself today. Thank you!!!

Banfield Alabaster has been a GODSEND to me and my 2 dogs, Ajax and Mishka. If I could give them a higher rating above 5 stars, I would. Dr. Krol is an extraordinary veterinarian, both caring and compassionate, not to mention highly knowledgeable. His team - Erica, Leigh Ann and every person I have ever spoken to on the phone or met with in person, has always gone above and BEYOND any question or concern or need I have ever had when it comes to caring for my dogs. I have been in some very difficult and challenging times, and to know that I have such a supportive and caring team at Banfield Alabaster has eased my mind tremendously and given me peace that I know we are in the right HANDS - so grateful to God for leading us to Banfield Alabaster and for Dr. Krol and his team of assistants and veterinary technicians. They are simply AMAZING.

Helped a friend with bringing their pet in for a checkup, and I was seriously impressed with the attentiveness the staff showed her and her puppy. Will be getting a Great Dane soon, and will absolutely use this location- Erica, Dr. Krol, and their entire staff are awesome!
