Amy and her Co Worker Bre were great with check in and answering all my concerns. Amy use to work with my babies and remember them by name and myself after 12 years. Dr. Andres is hands down the best! She explains everything in terms we can understand. This was my 1st time with the Breed. She worked me into the schedule because we missed our drop off time. She called us 5 times about everything she noticed and then they took time when we arrived at closing to explain everything about Babe Ruth! These 3 are hands down best we encountered since being with Pet Smart for 17 years now! Same Dr. and now Our Newest Edition to our family Mr. Babe Ruth and Poppy! Armani aka Gucci and Taz have gone to Puppy Heaven both at Pet smart and they allowed us to have an entire service for our babies. Long as we needed the room. They still ask about how we doing and send us post cards for Their birthdays and it has been a couple of years. This is why i will always go back. They treat you and your babies as their own! Poppy has stolen all the staff hearts they love to see his little self come in!! Hands down the best place I ever took my babies to!!

Based on the customer reviews, experiences at the Wake Forest Banfield Pet Hospital appear to be varied. One reviewer shared a highly positive experience, commending Amy and Bre for their excellent check-in service and for remembering them and their pets over many years. This reviewer also praised Dr. Andres as "hands down the best," highlighting her clear explanations, willingness to accommodate their schedule, thorough communication, and the caring attitude of the staff towards their pets. This positive account emphasizes a personal touch, thoroughness, and a genuine connection between the staff and the pets and owners.
However, another review presents a starkly contrasting experience, alleging veterinary malpractice. This reviewer detailed concerns about the diagnosis and communication regarding their cat's health, ultimately leading to the cat's passing. The review expresses strong dissatisfaction with the perceived lack of care, honesty, communication, and diagnostic skills, suggesting a focus on financial gain over the well-being of the animals. This feedback raises serious concerns about the standard of care experienced by this particular pet owner.
Considering these two very different perspectives, it's important for local users to weigh these experiences. The positive review highlights a caring and competent team, while the negative review raises significant red flags regarding communication, diagnosis, and overall patient care.
Regarding specific features of Banfield as a larger entity, they often emphasize their Optimum Wellness Plans®, which are designed to make preventative care more accessible through monthly payments. These plans typically cover routine exams, vaccinations, and other preventative services. However, the reviews provided for this specific Wake Forest location do not explicitly mention these plans or any other promotional offers.

Jan 14, 2025 · Shantel JohnsonVETERINARY MALPRACTICE In November of 2024 I dropped my 9 year old cat off at this banfield location for his comprehensive exam. I was called by the Dr. Cringe who did the examination and she told me that everything went well with his exam. Dr. McIntyre was overseeing the care of my cat and she said nothing to me about my cat having diabetes. But when I picked him up towards the end of the day and I met her face to face she said that his sugar was a bit elevated and I should try to help him lose weight, older cats that are overweight can possibly develop diabetes. I didn't think anything of what she said I trusted that my little boy was doing well. I left the hospital with no meds for diabetes. These vets are not trust worthy, they are not honest, they lack good communication skills, they do not properly diagnose. They killed my cat for money, not even caring enough to inform me that he was sick. So in the end they got more money out of me when I had to put my cat down. This place should be shut down and the vets and technicians should be fired for malpractice, lies, non communication with pet parents, causing harm to pets, lack of skills for proper diagnosis and the treatment of animals. THEY DO NOT CARE whether your animal lives or dies, it's all about making money.
Jan 17, 2025 · JA STEDr. Ballard and her male assistant were very rude and pushy. They tried to get my dogs temperature in his ears after I told them he would not tolerate it long enough for them to get a reading. I suggested a rectal temperature reading as that is what my dog is used to. Dr. Ballard refused to get a rectal temperature without giving a reason. They were rough during the physical exam which is upsetting because my dog is 5 with some joint issues starting to appear and you could tell he was not comfortable. Upon asking for the vets name for this review, she refused to give it to me. I could only identify her from the summary email I received after the appointment. Would not recommend seeing her. Treats your animals very poorly and is not willing to compromise for their needs.

Mar 21, 2025 · Jenny IzquierdoGenuinely the worst Pet Hospital around Wake Forest. My dog got dropped off at 8:00am for a simple checkup which ended up taking 8 1/2 hours. He was one of the first dogs of the day. Not only that, but I was informed that he wasn’t fed during that time and was taken out of his cage once to use the bathroom. Staffing shortage can only be an excuse for so many things. The main vet was lack luster and gave no assurances that my dog had been taken care of for the 8 hours he was there. He peed as soon as he got out of the vet. Luckily they told me his paws are only itchy because of allergies. Glad it took 8hours to figure that out. Go somewhere else, the price here is deceiving also. Not worth it, not sure worth it for your dog either.
