Welcome to Banfield Pet Hospital
Banfield Pet Hospital, located at 1717 PA-228 Suite D, Cranberry Township, PA 16066, USA, is a veterinary care provider operating within the platform category of a Pet Hospital. This facility offers a range of corresponding services and goods for sale aimed at addressing the health and wellness needs of pets. For inquiries and appointments, Banfield Pet Hospital can be reached by phone at (724) 779-1070 or via mobile at +1 724-779-1070. As a prominent name in veterinary care, Banfield facilities typically aim to provide accessible and standardized services.
The environment at Banfield Pet Hospital in Cranberry Township presents a mixed perception based on client experiences. On one hand, there are accounts of staff being "consistently great" and handling "precious pups with great care," suggesting a positive and attentive atmosphere for routine visits. The mention of receptionists like Diane being "exceptional" further indicates a welcoming and professional front-office environment, which contributes to a positive initial impression and helps in the overall client experience. This suggests that the facility aims to provide a pleasant and efficient setting for pet owners and their animals. However, another client's experience paints a significantly different picture, describing a situation where a puppy was left "laying on the cold room by himself," which points to an environment that, in certain critical situations, may not have met the client's expectations for continuous comfort and companionship for their pet. This discrepancy suggests that while routine interactions might be positive, the environment during highly stressful or critical moments could be perceived differently by various clients.
As a Pet Hospital, Banfield offers a variety of veterinary services. A prominent feature highlighted by satisfied customers is their "wellness program." This program is described as "really great" and allows pet owners to receive significant care, potentially costing "over $500 of work or more," with minimal out-of-pocket expenses. This indicates a focus on preventive care and comprehensive health management through a subscription-based model, which can be beneficial for consistent pet health. Standard veterinary services, such as routine check-ups and shots, are implied by the nature of their wellness plans. The ease of making appointments is also noted as a positive aspect of their service. However, a contrasting review raises serious concerns regarding diagnostic thoroughness and focus during critical situations. The client's experience suggests a potential overemphasis on financial aspects ("all they cared about was money") and a failure to perform comprehensive diagnostics, specifically for a "blockage" in a puppy, leading to a tragic outcome. This indicates that while they offer structured wellness programs, the depth of diagnostic investigation in urgent, non-routine cases might vary or be perceived as inadequate by some clients, potentially leading to missed diagnoses. Therefore, while services cover a range of preventive and routine care, the quality and scope of emergency or critical care diagnostics appear to be a point of divergence in client experiences.
The features of Banfield Pet Hospital, Cranberry Township, can be viewed through contrasting lenses. On the positive side, a key feature is their structured "wellness program," which provides a convenient and potentially cost-effective way for pet owners to manage their pets' preventive healthcare needs. The "easy to make appointments" system is another operational feature that enhances client convenience. Furthermore, the presence of "helpful, caring, and excellent staff members like Diane" highlights a strength in customer service, with individual team members making a significant positive impact on client experiences. The consistent "great care" for "precious pups" suggests a dedication to gentle handling during routine visits. Conversely, a significant feature, albeit a negative one from a client's perspective, is the perception of a strong financial focus, potentially overshadowing comprehensive diagnostic efforts, especially in critical scenarios. The failure to "check him for blockage" when a puppy was "getting into stuff" implies a potential gap in thoroughness or a reliance on initial assumptions rather than exhaustive investigation. The emotional impact of a pet passing away after a perceived lack of comprehensive care represents a critical area of concern, suggesting that while their wellness model might be appealing for routine care, their approach to urgent, complex medical issues could be a point of weakness for some clients.
Promotional information, as gleaned from customer reviews, is twofold. Positive promotion stems from the endorsement of their "wellness program," which offers a clear financial benefit and structured approach to pet health. The praise for "exceptional" staff members like Diane and the general sentiment of "consistently great" care for "precious pups" contribute to a positive image, highlighting their commitment to caring and efficient service for routine visits. This type of feedback likely attracts clients seeking a reliable and structured approach to ongoing pet care. However, there is also counter-promotional information, albeit unintentional, derived from a highly negative experience. The strong warning of "Never again" and "Don't go there" serves as a powerful deterrent. This review, highlighting a perceived lack of thoroughness in diagnostics and a focus on money over comprehensive care during a critical situation leading to a pet's death, acts as a significant cautionary tale. Such critical feedback, particularly when it involves the loss of a pet and concerns about diagnostic diligence, can severely impact a facility's reputation and potential client base. Therefore, while Banfield actively promotes its wellness plans and consistent service, the online landscape also carries a strong counter-narrative from clients whose experiences were profoundly negative, particularly regarding critical care and diagnostic integrity.
In summary, Banfield Pet Hospital in Cranberry Township, PA, positions itself as a comprehensive Pet Hospital with a notable emphasis on preventive care through its wellness programs, which are highly valued by some clients for their convenience and cost-effectiveness. The facility is praised for its friendly and helpful staff, particularly during routine appointments, and aims to provide an efficient and consistent service. However, an objective introduction must also acknowledge significant negative feedback concerning critical care scenarios, where a client experienced a perceived lack of thorough diagnostics and an overemphasis on financial considerations, leading to a tragic outcome. This dichotomy suggests that while Banfield may be a suitable choice for routine and preventive care for some pet owners, those facing complex or emergency situations might have varied experiences regarding the depth of diagnostic investigation and the perceived prioritization of medical needs. Therefore, potential clients are advised to weigh these diverse experiences when considering Banfield Pet Hospital for their pet's healthcare needs.

Apr 20, 2025 · Thomas KvederisNever again. Took my puppy there and all they cared about was money. Has the amount they stated then they wanted more had to leave him there to run to the bank said they would hang out with him came back he was laying on the cold room by himself. Said we caught it early he had a good chance. He passed away this morning. Never will use them again. Puppies get into stuff never checked him for blockage just assumed it was something else. Don't go there
May 17, 2025 · Laurie WintersI’ve been using Banfield services for 11 years. I’ve always gone to Tarentum. Most recently, my 17 year old needed care. Tarentum had no openings. I contacted Cranberry. Diane answered. She triaged me so that she could relay what my concerns were. Dr Skiba called me back. She saw my Benny the next day. His condition had worsened. Dr Skiba and I spoke about Benny’s care. She was very compassionate. A couple of days later I ultimately had to lay my Benny to rest. This was an agonizing decision. Dr Skiba and her staff treated us with kindness and gentleness. They prepared a very comfortable warm environment for Benny and me. When the time came Dr Skiba and her tech (I apologize I don’t remember her name) sat right down on the floor with us. I laid Benny in the cozy little bed. I was allowed ample time and space to sit with my Benny. Dr Skiba and her staff made my extremely difficult situation as comfortable as possible. Thank you so very much for your comforting words and gentle compassion. 4/29/24
Oct 25, 2024 · Antoinette GasiorowskiNov 7th was a horrible day for me and my husband. We had to say goodbye to our 17 year old cat, Missy. She was our baby!!! I can not say enough about Banfield in Cranberry from the minute we walked in to start the process to the minute we left.... the compassion they had was beyond words... 2 weeks after we pick up her remains we received a sympathy card signed by the staff... THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!!! ❤️❤️
Dec 02, 2024 · mary crisciThey were very accommodating to my exotic pet bunny. She was at risk of GI stasis and they got her in the same day. I like that they offered various treatment options with prices. They were short on my medication but had more the next day to pick up. They lost a star for putting a diagnosis in the paper receipt (dental issue) and not mentioning it to me and also not calling/emailing to follow-up. My other vet always called to see if things had resolved which means alot to me that they care. Banfield is great and affordable in a pinch but not as thorough if you can wait.
