It is crucial to note that the information presented here is derived solely from the provided customer reviews and aims to offer an objective introduction based on these specific experiences. The customer reviews for the Banfield Pet Hospital at the Cedar Falls location in Portland, OR, paint a concerning picture regarding the overall customer experience and business practices. Several reviewers express significant dissatisfaction, citing issues related to billing, sales tactics, and the perceived prioritization of financial gain over the genuine health and well-being of pets. These accounts suggest potential challenges for pet owners considering this particular Banfield Pet Hospital for their veterinary care needs.
One reviewer describes their experience as "the worst customer experience ever," alleging that the hospital engages in practices aimed at maximizing charges, such as enrolling customers in unwanted plans and then creating difficulties in canceling these plans. This individual strongly advises against taking pets to Banfield, particularly the Cedar Mills location (which is understood to be the Cedar Falls location based on the address), claiming that the hospital will exploit the owner's care for their animals to inflate their financial burden. This review raises serious concerns about the transparency and ethical conduct of the hospital's financial interactions with its clients.
Another reviewer echoes these sentiments, stating that Banfield appears to prioritize sales and maximizing charges over the actual health of pets. This perception suggests a potential conflict of interest where financial incentives might influence the recommendations and treatment plans provided by the veterinary staff. Such concerns can erode the trust that pet owners place in their veterinary care providers, making it difficult to feel confident in the necessity and fairness of the services being offered.
A particularly alarming account details a situation where a pet owner brought their dog in for a routine bordatella vaccination. According to this review, the veterinarian allegedly presented a "laundry list of symptoms" that were later found to be nonexistent by another veterinary clinic. These purported symptoms included dental abscesses and skin disease, and the reviewer even claims that the vet attempted to fabricate evidence of fleas. The pet owner, feeling that the initial assessment was dishonest, declined same-day care and sought a second opinion, which contradicted the initial diagnoses. This experience led the reviewer to conclude that the behavior was a "predatory attempt to scare and upsell a patient," resulting in a vow never to return to Banfield. This narrative raises serious questions about the integrity of the diagnostic process and the potential for unnecessary and costly treatments being recommended.
Based solely on these customer reviews, a potential local user considering Banfield Pet Hospital at the Cedar Falls location should be aware of the reported negative experiences. These include allegations of aggressive upselling tactics, a focus on maximizing charges, potential misrepresentation of a pet's health condition to inflate treatment costs, and enrollment in unwanted financial plans. The reviews suggest a pattern of behavior that some pet owners have found exploitative and detrimental to their trust in the veterinary practice.
It is important to reiterate that this introduction is based exclusively on the provided negative customer feedback. Mar 04, 2025 · Zachary MichaelBanfield seems to care more about sales and charging people as much as possible more than they care about the health of your pet. I brought my dog in for an updated bordatella vaccine. The vet took him into the back and when she came back she had a laundry list of symptoms that "were worrisome". She claimed that he had abscesses on his teeth, that he had skin disease and even went as far as to pick a nonexistent flea from his body. I denied same day care because i felt like she wasnt being entirely honest with me. Weeks later, it turns out nothing that she diagnosed my dog with is actually wrong with him per another vet clinic. This was an awful attempt to scare and upsell a patient. I will never return to banfield because of this predatory behavior.
Mar 03, 2025 · Rhea RBanfield has slowly been going down hill with their customer service over the last few years. They constantly are under staffed and no one is ever available to speak with on the phone. I recently sat on hold for 20 min after I was told by an actual human I was third in line. 21 min into being on hold, I was hung up on. All I’m trying to do is schedule an appointment for our dog which is part of the plans we pay for. It’s never been so difficult to communicate, but Banfield is happy to take our money for plans we aren’t benefiting from.
Oct 29, 2024 · Josh BernardMy go to place when it comes to taking care of my pet. Compared to other branches, this one is far more organized and responsive to me as a customer. Also, they keep track of my pet's care schedule and notify me, which really helps. Staff is always friendly and helpful so I can confidently recommend this branch for your pets' wellbeing.
Oct 11, 2024 · C TI am writing for Banfield at 11800 NW Cedar Falls Dr #100, Portland, OR 97229 There is a nurse in this Banfield with braided hair and a sword tattoo back of arm. So she accused us of lying for getting more "Simparica trio" (Our plan includes Simparica trio). I mean she literary said that to my wife. I went out (cause their place never have net) and found my receipts to show them that it is their fault. Eventually they accepted that it was their fault. Fun Fact: that day I took my dog there for dental cleaning and guess what happened 2 days later while my dog was crying and resting in home all those 2 days!? She got giardia! How she got it? I believe she got it at their facility! To me, Banfield do not care about pets. They are there to sell you Royal Canin products and there is no sincere care for your pet. And I am experiencing all these while I pay almost 100 bucks a month! I am not positive at all about Banfield.
