Although a comprehensive list of services isn't detailed in the provided reviews, we can infer several key areas of focus and expertise at Banfield Pet Hospital. This suggests a deep understanding of the emotional bond between pets and their owners and a commitment to facilitating these difficult moments with dignity and compassion.
Beyond end-of-life care, the effective communication from veterinarians, mentioned by a client whose dog receives regular treatment, implies a commitment to keeping pet owners informed and involved in their pet's health. This transparency builds trust and ensures that owners feel confident in the care their animals are receiving. As a Pet Hospital, Banfield likely offers a range of other essential services such as routine check-ups, vaccinations, diagnostic procedures, treatment for illnesses and injuries, and potentially surgical services. Feb 19, 2025 · Daniel SteigelmanDuring two of the most difficult moments our family has faced, we've turned to Banfield Pet Clinic to help us say goodbye to our 13 and 14-year-old pets. Each time, the staff there displayed incredible sensitivity and compassion, not just towards our animals but also towards us as a grieving family. The professionals at the clinic took us through the end-of-life process with great care, allowing us to understand what was happening every step of the way. We never felt rushed, which allowed us to focus on our farewells. Besides the emotional support, we were pleasantly surprised by the affordability of their services, which is one less worry at a time like this. Though it's always painful to part ways with a cherished family member, Banfield Pet Clinic offered the kind of supportive and understanding environment that helps ease the distress. For those unfortunate moments when you have to say goodbye, I can't recommend their services highly enough.
Aug 29, 2023 · Jamie WatsonI took my dog Myka here because her urine has blood in it. Dr Mckenzis did both urine analysis and sending urine culture to a lab. One method should be sufficient to determine if Myka has UTI. My bill came to about 550 dollars but I was ok. We went home with 2 weeks of antibiotic and waiting for the urine culture result from lab. A week later her nurse called us with lab result. She said Myka has bacteria in her urine and that her antibiotic should take care of it. Dr McKinszi wanted us to come back for a follow up urine culture lab. Four weeks later I took Myka back for a followup urine lab. I asked front desk person to tell me and send me the first urine lab result before I sign some papers for 2nd urine lab. He read the result to me. It was no bacteria was found. It was marked "remarkable" meaning no issue found. I asked if no issue found in urine culture why do we need to redo same test?? He went back inside and talked to Dr Mckenszi. He said the doctor said "just to make sure there's nothing there" . The first test shows nothing no bacteria so what's the point of repeating same test twice within 3 weeks period. Why wasting my hard earned money? Myka had same issue back in September but was cured by Mission hospital in September. I wanted to save some money therefore I brought her here and ended up costing me more. One important note here is her nurse lied to me when she told me on the phone that the lab result shows Myka has bacteria. This was not true.
Dec 19, 2024 · D CI live in McAllen and I am costumer since 8 years ago….I came to San Antonio to Banfield Village Blanco to have a second opinion for my 12 year old Irish setter. It was a good service. Dr. was good with her diagnosis and recommended new food we hadn’t tried. People in the front desk need to have a much faster program they stare at their computer like forever 💤 It takes them more than 45 minutes to check you in every time. I don’t like the fact that they are so pushy selling you more and more services or products, I don’t like that and I don’t appreciate it. I always end up buying more things than I need, but I know better now….. example, my other dog needed a urinary test which is already included in the program I pay for monthly. So the Front guy insisted in selling me an extra service that was “ recommended” so they can make a more accurate test and be sure they could extract the P and blah blah blah, anyways he just tried to sold me a $36 thing that supposedly made the urinary test better, which I don’t really get ….. they should be able to take the test and get results, so I said NO , he was kind of pushy, I said NO again he seemed not happy …. and at the end we didn’t ended up needing that thing he was trying to sell me. The urinary test came fine and did its job as it should. Also, they wanted to sell me two packs of pet pads for private areas …when I only really need it one pack ……..things like that I don’t like and appreciate . Veterinary services are expensive and are not as regulated as humans… it is very expensive nowadays to have a pet.
Aug 10, 2024 · Alexis MalcolmDO NOT RECOMMEND!!!! I have been taking my dogs here for a few years now BUT TODAY, my 4 year old healthy, sweet, happy go lucky american bully is fighting for his life. What was supposed to be a wellness visit turned into a hospital stay at a different vet. 10 minutes into picking my dog up, he was panting with what sounded like a dry cough, as we walked into the house he started peeing along with peeing blood, he threw up, his tongue was turning purple, had a 108 fever, and needed immediate assistance. luckily we got him to the ER vet in time. He needed to be sedated and intubated. So far he can not be released because his oxygen levels will not stabilize. We called banfield off of 1604 and blanco to ask them what was given to him and they state nothing he hasn’t had before. which is clearly not the case since he needed to be admitted to the hospital. Dr. Harlin was the doctor that was conducting his wellness. save yourself, dog, and money and find another vet. I will keep this updated with his progress.
