This is our first ever visit with Banfield. Experience was great. They were very informative and everyone was so nice and patient. From the receptionist to the doctor. Everyone was amazing. I would like to have those same two team members in the room with my Diamond every time she come.🩷💜.

Banfield Pet Hospital Introduce

Welcome to Banfield Pet Hospital, a well-known chain of veterinary clinics with a location at 13927 New Halls Ferry Road, Florissant, MO 63033, USA. As a Pet Hospital, Banfield aims to provide comprehensive veterinary care for pets. This specific Florissant location can be contacted at their phone number: (314) 837-8282 or their mobile phone: +1 314-837-8282. Based on recent customer reviews, experiences at this particular branch appear to be somewhat varied, highlighting both positive aspects of initial visits and potential challenges related to their national network policies and local interpretation.

One customer shared a very positive initial experience during their "first ever visit with Banfield" at this Florissant location. They described the experience as "great," emphasizing that the staff was "very informative" and that "everyone was so nice and patient," from the receptionist to the doctor. This positive feedback suggests a welcoming and communicative environment during initial consultations. The customer specifically mentioned the desire to have the same two team members present for all future visits with their pet, Diamond, indicating a strong connection and satisfaction with the care provided by those individuals. This positive review highlights the potential for a positive and caring environment within the clinic, particularly during initial interactions.

However, another customer shared a significantly contrasting experience, which sheds light on the complexities of Banfield's national network and its application at this local Florissant branch. This customer's pets are under the care of the Banfield chain and reside in Colorado, emphasizing the benefit of having "all my pet information available and can be seen by all Banfield pet hospitals," which is cited as a primary reason for choosing this veterinary provider. The issue arose when this customer visited the Florissant location while traveling and needed to purchase a "simple joint supplement" for their senior dog, having accidentally left their supply at home. They reasoned that accessing this supplement should not be problematic, given that their dog's long-term use of it for a senior condition would be verifiable within the Banfield system. They correctly pointed out that the supplement was neither a narcotic nor an antibiotic, further emphasizing its non-critical nature.

Despite the customer's established relationship with the Banfield chain and the accessibility of their pet's medical records within the system, the Florissant location reportedly refused to sell the joint supplement. The stated reason was that "your dog and the vet do not have a relationship so he can’t sell you the supplement." The customer highlighted the apparent contradiction with the core benefit of a national chain – the seamless access to care and information across locations. They noted their ability to visit any Banfield nationwide, the coverage of their pet visits under a monthly plan, and their frequent encounters with different veterinarians within the Colorado Banfield clinics due to reported staff turnover. The customer expressed strong dissatisfaction, stating that this location was "NOT being a good provider for a senior dog for a simple joint supplement" and suggested others "steer clear of this location and go elsewhere" due to a perceived lack of "capacity or compassion" in this situation. The reviewer concluded by stating they would give zero stars if possible, underscoring the severity of their negative experience.

Based on these two contrasting reviews, the environment of the Banfield Pet Hospital in Florissant might be perceived differently depending on the nature of the visit and the specific staff encountered. The positive review suggests a friendly and informative atmosphere with caring staff. However, the negative review, while not directly commenting on the physical environment, implies a potentially rigid adherence to local policies that may override the benefits of the national network, potentially leading to a frustrating experience for out-of-town clients already within the Banfield system.

The services offered at this Banfield Pet Hospital likely include a range of standard veterinary care, such as routine wellness exams, vaccinations, diagnosis and treatment of illnesses, minor surgical procedures, dental care, parasite prevention, and nutritional counseling. As part of a national chain, they likely also offer wellness plans that cover certain preventative care services for a monthly fee. The positive review mentions a thorough and informative initial visit, suggesting that these standard services are provided. However, the negative review highlights a limitation in service provision – the refusal to dispense a non-prescription supplement to an established Banfield client from out of state due to the lack of a local veterinarian-client-patient relationship (VCPR). This suggests that while standard medical services are likely available, there might be restrictions on dispensing even non-critical items based on local VCPR requirements, even within the same national chain.

Key features of Banfield as a national chain include the accessibility of pet medical records across all their locations and the availability of pet wellness plans. The positive reviewer seemed to appreciate the informative nature of their visit and the caring staff. However, the negative reviewer experienced a significant drawback related to the interpretation and application of the VCPR requirement within the Banfield network. The inability to access a simple, regularly used supplement despite being a member of the Banfield system and having verifiable medical records accessible to all Banfield vets at this location appears to be a significant negative feature for traveling clients within the Banfield network. This highlights a potential disconnect between the intended convenience of a national chain and the practical application of local policies.

Currently, there is no specific promotional information available for this particular Banfield Pet Hospital in Florissant based on the provided reviews. Banfield as a national chain often promotes their wellness plans, which offer bundled preventative care services at a monthly cost. They may also have occasional promotions for specific services or products. Local users interested in any current promotions at this Florissant location should contact the hospital directly or visit the national Banfield website for any applicable offers.

In conclusion, Banfield Pet Hospital in Florissant, MO, offers standard veterinary services and is part of a national network that allows access to pet medical records across locations. Initial experiences can be positive, with informative and caring staff. However, potential clients, especially those who are part of the Banfield network but are visiting from out of town, should be aware of potential limitations related to local interpretation of veterinarian-client-patient relationship requirements, which may impact the ability to obtain even non-prescription items. While the convenience of a national chain and the availability of wellness plans are features of Banfield in general, the experience at this specific Florissant location may be influenced by local policies and staff interpretation of those policies. Local users should weigh the potential benefits of the national network and the reported positive initial experiences against the potential for restrictive local policies, as highlighted by the negative review, when considering this Pet Hospital for their pet care needs.

My pets are under the care of the Banfield chain but we reside in Colorado. All my pet information is available and can be seen by all Banfield pet hospitals which is one reason I use them. HOWEVER… I came in to this location to get some joint supplements for my dog because I accidentally left mine at home while here visiting. You would think it’s a simple joint supplement and this wouldn’t be an issue as my dog is in the system and all vets CAN VERIFY it’s being used long term for a senior dog. It’s not a narcotic, nor an antibiotic, but simply a joint supplement. This location said, your dog and the vet do not have a relationship so he can’t sell you the supplement. Note, I can go to any Banfield nationwide, all my pet visits are covered under the monthly plan, I see different vet’s all the time in Colorado because it seems Banfield’s can’t keep vet’s long term. Thank you to this location for NOT being a good provider for a senior dog for a simple joint supplement. I’d steer clear of this location and go elsewhere since they don’t have the capacity or compassion to sell some joint supplements to a client in need from out of town, who is a part of the system, who is able to be seen at any Banfield, and who Banfield can confirm is on the supplement. If I could give zero stars I would.

My wife and I took over ownership of Storm. We continued the Wellness-Plan with a dental cleaning. I heard extensive details about the plan while being on hold. (Taped looping recording) Visits are included with the purchase of a plan. However, prescribed medications are additional. Storm received her dental cleaning today. Stephanie, at the front desk, was kind, considerate, and deeply concerned about the wellbeing of Storm. A representative called and gave us an update and provided recommendations for Storm. Dr. Paturi called us personally after the procedure was complete, with details and his recommendations. You do not ordinarily receive special consideration from several people in one establishment. We thank everyone at Banfield Pet Hospital. It was a blessing to feel welcomed and informed about the well-being of our new addition to the family! Storm- named after one of the X-Men! I am a fan!

I’ve been with Banfield Pet Hospital for 12 years. Sadly, I had to put my precious dog, Chico, to sleep due to kidney failure last Thursday. But when I called them on Friday to cancel my plan, I was told that would have to continue paying until the end of the current policy which had just auto-renewed in March (or pay the full price for services rendered). This is highly unethical!! Who continues to pay medical premiums for someone who is decease?!? Not to mention that my dog had not received any services for FOUR years due to the pandemic, but I continued to pay the premiums and no refunds was given for the time period in which they were closed. Hence, if ever I was to get another pet, I assure you that Banfield Pet Hospital will not be my chosen veterinary clinic!

It seems they can treat dogs but not cats at this location. The staff will tell you one thing on the phone and then something different in person. They do not know how to treat cats and will refuse to unless you pay to sedate them.
