If I could give 0 stars I would! They asked for me to drop off my dogs sample…. Only to lose it! I had to call and ask for an update just to be told that they’re short staffed and nobody knows what happened to the sample which was the sole purpose of me making an appt there. The only solution they gave was to bring it in again and then tried to sale me another test like I would ever trust them again. She then told me I should get care asap with them and not delay with switching vets LOL - when they lost it to begin with? Care wouldn’t have been delayed if they actually were aware of what’s going on. Long story short, we switched the NEXT day and got answers almost immediately for half of the cost elsewhere. Idk about other locations by this one made me not want to ever trust Banfield again. Oh also- that wellness plan is BS! The only reason I signed up was for all of the testing she needed/ what I was told she needed would be included! Only for them to tell me that it wasn’t TWICE! I literally had to show them where in her plan it was included & the other test they tried to sell me was supposedly not included either when I was told it was TWICE. So yeah This location is the worst .

If I could give negative stars I would. We went to this location back in August to get an estimate on extractions for my dog’s teeth. They then signed me up for a wellness plan and explained that it would be cheaper than paying for everything out of pocket. I was told that they would call me asap to get her scheduled for a cleaning and then schedule extractions after that. I NEVER received a call from them. Last Monday I called the number online to cancel the wellness plan and I explained that I did not want to pay any additional fees since they are the ones that never scheduled what needed to be done so I was essentially paying monthly for nothing. The person I talked to told me to call the clinic and they would be able to waive the fees for me. I then called the clinic and they gave me a different number to call so I did. This person I talked to was EXTREMELY rude and not helpful talking over me. I called the clinic back after this and they explained that their manager was not in and she would give me a call back next week (this week). Again, I NEVER received a call back from them. I called today (Friday) and the manager was already gone for the day. So again, there has been a note left for her to call me but I doubt that will happen. They really enjoy giving people the run around. Now I am out money that I could have used at an actual vet hospital to get my dog’s teeth extracted. Unless you want to be scammed and ignored by management I would not suggest this location. I am now out money for services I never received. The wellness plan is absolutely a scam for pet parents and I would not suggest anyone go to this location unless you want to just throw money away. Update: It has now been 2 weeks without this being resolved. They clearly do not care about their customers. Only money. I have emailed with no answer back.

I have been taking my toy poodle Willow to the Banfield vet in Smyrna for several years. This location is closest to where I live in Antioch. Vets Dr. Costilla and Dr. De Martin at this Banfield have significantly contributed to the decline in my dog Willow's health. Below are key events demonstrating substandard care from these vets: ISSUES WITH DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT OF CUSHING’S DISEASE - Willow diagnosed with Cushing's disease in 2021 after bloodwork showed elevated liver enzymes, but Banfield did not recommend treatment despite ultrasound showing disease - Over next year, Willow experienced periodic 1-2 minute episodes where she would stumble, tilt her head, then recover. Banfield vets labeled these as "nausea" but did not relate to Cushing's diagnosis - Following months of taking Willow to the Smyrna location, Franklin’s Banfield vet said episodes sounded like strokes and to see a neurologist if happened again. When next episode occurred, Smyrna Banfield vet made no mention of strokes. - Next episode was severe - couldn't walk for 4 days, permanent limp. Neurologist put her on blood thinners, stopping episodes- evident Smyrna Banfield vets failed to recognize condition and adjust treatment FAILURE TO COMMUNICATE KEY DIAGNOSTICS RESULTS - July 5th records show Banfield vet recognized Willow had suffered "another" stroke but did not inform me, refer to neurologist, or express urgency - Willow rapidly losing weight over 18 months but vets insisted weight loss was because not enough calories, not because of conditions. Said would refer to specialist if kept losing weight - Weight declining but vets insisted she was gaining weight, despite clear documentation of 7 lb weight loss over 18 months - Dr. De Martin became impatient when I questioned the inaccurate weight gain claim and refused to refer me to an internal medicine specialist. - the next day I made an appointment and took Willow to Franklin’s Banfield where vet expressed alarm at weight loss and immediate need for internal medicine workup. Willow was 5.8 pounds - Specialty vet found inflammatory bowel disease, gallbladder disease, heart murmur that Banfield records showed existed earlier but owner was never informed and Willow was never treated for the murmur. Murmur documented and went from 2/6 to 5/6. INTERACTIONS WITH BANFIELD DIRECTOR - Director admitted numerous missed signs by staff and doctors, said they would reeducate Smyrna location staff - Declined to provide corporate contact info when asked -Never offered any type of restitution, no real accountability -This call was recorded SUMMARY - I have spent thousands on Wellness Plan, but neglect by Smyrna staff resulted in weight/quality of life loss, avoidable health declines - Care disparities: Franklin location more patient, thorough, better quality of doctors; Smyrna rushed, impatient, lack of knowledge, socioeconomic differences in care quality. - Concerns that Smyrna Banfield provides lower quality care compared to Franklin’s location in more affluent area Smyrna services primarily Smyrna and South Nashville/Antioch residents.
