I had a dental appointment yesterday for my cat Spot with Dr Ede and I can say that I was very satisfied with my overall experience. Dr Ede was very kind and considerate with the whole process, answering the questions that I had regarding his care and taking the time to let me know about his teeth issues. She was very understanding when I didn’t have the funds for the teeth extractions and gave him antibiotics instead and she said that we could plan for that next year. The receptionist are also extremely kind and friendly making it a very easy process to get him in quickly and home just as fast. I appreciate all the staff there for making it so easy to get my boy the care he need. Thank you for truly caring about my boy!

Banfield Pet Hospital Introduce

Welcome to Banfield Pet Hospital, located at 355 Howe Ave, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221, USA. They can be contacted at (330) 928-9860 or via mobile at +1 330-928-9860. Banfield Pet Hospital is a well-known chain of veterinary clinics across the United States, offering a variety of services for pets. The Cuyahoga Falls location aims to provide comprehensive pet healthcare, as reflected in the experiences shared by their customers, which present a mixed perspective.

Environment: One positive review highlights the friendly and efficient nature of the receptionists, suggesting a welcoming and organized front office environment. This can contribute to a smoother and more pleasant experience when visiting the clinic. However, other aspects of the clinic's environment are not detailed in the provided reviews.

Services: Banfield Pet Hospital offers a range of veterinary services, including:

  • Dental Care: As mentioned in one review, they provide dental appointments, including examinations and treatment recommendations for dental issues in pets. This can involve cleanings, and in some cases, extractions, although the latter may be subject to financial considerations for the pet owner.
  • Wellness Plans: Banfield is known for its "Wellness Plans," which are subscription-based packages designed to cover routine veterinary care such as vaccinations, check-ups, and certain diagnostic tests. However, one reviewer strongly advised against these plans based on their experience.
  • General Veterinary Care: The hospital likely offers standard medical care for illnesses and injuries, although specific instances beyond dental care are not detailed positively in the provided reviews. One negative review suggests that the treatment provided for a dog's anxiety and a secondary concern was inadequate, leading to repeated appointments.

The contrasting experiences indicate that while some routine services, like dental check-ups, may be handled satisfactorily, other aspects of their service, particularly concerning diagnosis and treatment of certain conditions, as well as the value of their wellness plans, have been called into question by some customers.

Features: A notable feature of Banfield Pet Hospital is their availability as part of a larger chain, which can offer consistency in some aspects of care and potentially easier access to records if you move. They also offer wellness plans, which are intended to make preventative care more affordable through regular monthly payments. However, as mentioned earlier, the value and implications of these wellness plans are a point of contention based on one of the reviews, which alleges that the plans might incentivize unnecessary appointments and higher medication costs.

Another feature highlighted in a positive review is the kindness and consideration of at least one of the veterinarians, Dr. Ede, who took the time to explain the pet's condition and was understanding of the owner's financial constraints, offering an alternative treatment plan. Similarly, the friendliness and efficiency of the reception staff were also noted as positive features.

Conversely, a significant concern raised in a negative review is the perceived rudeness and lack of connection skills of some of the veterinarians. This reviewer also alleges that their dog's anxiety worsened after visits and that a secondary health concern was repeatedly ignored, necessitating multiple appointments. Furthermore, they claim that medications are priced higher to encourage enrollment in the wellness plan, suggesting a potential conflict of interest.

Promotional Information: The primary promotional aspect often associated with Banfield is their Wellness Plans, which are marketed as a way to budget for your pet's routine care and potentially save money over time. These plans typically include services like regular exams, vaccinations, parasite control, and dental cleanings, depending on the chosen tier. However, based on one of the provided reviews, potential customers should carefully evaluate the terms and perceived value of these plans before enrolling. The positive review mentions satisfactory dental care and a kind veterinarian, which could also be seen as a form of positive promotion through customer experience.

For local users in Cuyahoga Falls, OH, considering Banfield Pet Hospital, it's important to weigh the contrasting experiences shared by other pet owners. On one hand, there are positive mentions of friendly reception staff and considerate veterinarians who are willing to work with pet owners' financial situations. On the other hand, there are serious allegations of rude veterinarians, inadequate treatment leading to prolonged issues, and concerns about the value and potential drawbacks of the wellness plans.

Given this mixed feedback, potential clients might want to inquire specifically about the veterinarians on staff, perhaps requesting appointments with those who have received positive feedback. It would also be prudent to thoroughly understand the details and costs associated with any recommended treatment plans and to carefully consider whether a wellness plan aligns with their pet's specific healthcare needs and their own budget. The claims made in the negative review, particularly regarding the motivations behind the wellness plan and medication pricing, warrant careful consideration and perhaps a direct discussion with the clinic.

In conclusion, Banfield Pet Hospital in Cuyahoga Falls, OH, as a Pet Hospital, offers a range of veterinary services, including dental care and wellness plans. While some customers have reported positive experiences with certain staff members and specific services, others have raised significant concerns about the demeanor of some veterinarians, the effectiveness of treatment, and the value of the wellness plans. Local users should consider these varied perspectives when deciding whether Banfield Pet Hospital is the right choice for their pet's care.

Worst experience with vets I have ever had. My dog has experienced higher levels of anxiety since our first three visits. The techs are AMAZING. Which is why I signed up for the wellness plan. But the vets are rude, and do not have simple skills in connecting with new clients or patients. On the three occasions I made appointment, both vets I visited avoided discussion of my secondary concern - I brought to the attention each visit and on each visit they did NOT treat my dog for it. Therefore causing me to continue making appointments. ALSO, they DO NOT, treat appropriately causing you to buy more medication than you normally would. Further, medications are charged at a much higher price here to help encourage you to keep the wellness plan which forces you to use this vet for care regardless of the veterinarians bedside manner and competencies. DO NOT GET THE WELLNESS PLAN DO NOT USE THIS VET MY dog has only increased in anxiousness as a rescue who has visited vets that don't care to work with the animal. They do things how "they want" because they are the people with the upper hand, Don't trust these folks. Keep your animals away from here.

Last night we lost our beloved dog lulu , our hearts are broken, she was a very special girl . We would like to thank the staff for always taking such good care all these years of our girl, especially Dr. Blair for knowing how to help her with all her special needs that she had. We would like to share some photos of our girl that stole our hearts when we adopted her at one of your PetSmart adoption events, I wasn’t Evan looking for a dog that day , I walked by the dogs and she and I had an immediate connection, I already had two dogs at home but I called my husband and asked him and he came up to meet her and that’s , that she was ours . She was the daughter I never had and stole her daddy’s heart , she oftened had to go to the vet because of her health problem and the staff always treated her so well . Her daddy would always tell her after her doctors appointment she could go shopping and let her get something , so sweet . We will never loose our fond memories of our girl. Forever in our hearts . But thank you again Dr. Blair and staff for all you do and our to our fur baby’s , especially our lulu ❤️ here are some pics of our girl

Banfield is the best animal hospital I have ever taken my cat Jessica for her care. The staff was wonderful. The vet was great. My cat wasn't scared and came home with medicine that made her all better. My cat who is my baby has a new vet, and a new friend . Thank you to everybody at Banfield. Laurie Luff

I’m glad Banfield was able to give me a same day appt since my dog had diarrhea for 5 days. I work long hours during the week and was dreading having to go sit in a pet ER for 10+ hours on a Sat. After getting info in a waiting room, staff took my dog away. The doctor comes to talk to me for about a minute then my dog is brought back as we wait on fecal test results. Staff comes back with results (that were negative), a prescription for expensive Hills food and Pro-Pectalin paste that’s online cheaper with next day delivery - Amazon, Chewy, Walmart etc. In summary, I paid $74 for office visit, $62 to prep, examine and dispose of poop and $24 for Pro-Pectalin paste - $160 total. Plus, I have been a dog owner for 14 years and never had an experience where my dog was allegedly examined without me present. Since I wasn’t in the room, I don’t know if he was examined or not. For a $74 office visit, pet owners should be able to stay with their pet the entire time.
