AVOID Banfield is predatory veterinary practices with an enticing Optimal Wellness Plan that is well marketed as a stress free all inclusive for people who love their pets. I implore you to read the nightmare stories of people financially devastated/seriously stressed out by Banfields OWP at the Better Business Bureau before you sign up: -When my dog was on the table the vet was distracted - both times with different vets. Both vets tried to upsell me unnecessary care while not prioritizing their opportunity to examine. They feign concern over marginal numbers on bloodwork and implore you to test more. I verified thesse numbers with previous vet, google, and reddit and all said they were fine - they did this to me twice. Unfortunately for me and my dog they missed a heart murmur when she was on the exam table. I paid for the teeth cleaning OWP but you cannot get a senior dogs teeth cleaned under anesthesia with a heart murmur. THEY ABSOLUTELY REFUSED to accommodate me at Banfield Carkeek and I had to go through corporate and the Better Business Bureau to get back the money that was rightfully mine. They tried to tell me she developed the murmur within the last few months which as an obvious lie. It was $600 the owner refused me and this caused me a great deal of stress. SHAME ON YOU CARKEEK. -Serious issues with billing that could have harmed my financial reputation/credit. A mysterious payment went through into my account which knocked my primary card off of default according to Banfield corporate. I went 2 months without a payment and it almost defaulted - no contact from Banfield. Just an oopsie when I called and a we're sorry for almost ruining your credit. -Optimal Wellness Plan is NOT all inclusive. The entire time I was nickel and dimed for things that were clearly advertised as part of the plan and hidden fees and charges were guaranteed. It got to the point where I had to ask: "Is this included in my optimal wellness plan" for basic things like vaccines and preventive care. -You do not save money at Banfield and in the end the costs were equivalent or slightly more compared to other local Seattle vets. It is highly polished marketing. Your first red flag should be that sneaky, last minute $150 signup fee they hit you with after you spend an hour in their portal signing up. The greed continued after this and it never stopped. -The receptionist is unbelievably rude. -They lack attention to detail and were more concerned with upselling than helping me with known issues. I told them about my dogs GI issues and pancreatitis and her inability to eat kibble of any kind. I would get emails about low fat kibble from Banfield! They knew of her diet and need for fresh food. They gave me no advice on how to aid, manage, or prevent pancreatitis whatsoever. I had to google all this myself. They don't actually care about your dog when he/she is on the table and they just want your money. -The 10% discount they advertise in the plan isn't actually included in things like the EKG, as advertised. Carkeek is a wealthy area with people who absolutely love their pets and Banfield is incredible at marketing. I hope my neighbors in this wonderful community read this review before supporting Banfield Carkeek and take your hard earned money elsewhere. Do it for your wallet and most of all do it for your pup.

This might be the best vet we have ever seen. The entire team was incredible and we felt very safe and supported in the hands of Kendall and Dr. Taylor. We were dealing with a somewhat serious issue while traveling and they went out of their way to accommodate us, help us navigate the situation, and ensure that we were appropriately set up for continued care in our next destination. They went above and beyond with their time, efforts and energy to support us, and we could not be more appreciative. We wish we could take them home with us! If we lived here, this would be our vet of choice, without question.

Had to go twice this week for our two dogs' first visit with them, and all the doctors and vet techs were super nice! You can really tell they care for your pup and accommodate to your dogs personality/needs

Staff are always amazing. Vets get to you as fast as they can... when you can get an appointment. Drop-off is sometimes attainable in a somewhat urgent but not emergency situation. The only thing I don't like is the pet-care policy that I'm LOCKED into. I am moving to an area where there is NO Banfield. Yet,I have to continue paying on the plan. Because it's a "year package" that can't be broken off. So, basically, I'll be paying for something I can't utilize.

My dog has been a patient at Carkeek Park Banfield for 10 years. We have had no complaints and most of the staff are kind and understanding. We recently went in to get a nail trim. This is a nail trim that had already been cancelled 3 times due to a lack of staff. When we finally got in for the appointment we were charged $66 and we are normally charged about $20 for this service. I sent an email and did not hear from someone until 6 days later ( 3 emails and 2 phone calls) . I received a call from a very rude front desk person who talked over the top of me and then hung up. We are so disappointed with the lack of communication and the way that we were treated. If you are looking for vet for your loved animal I would suggest going else where.

Banfield Carkeek made an error in my appointment scheduling after they had confirmed my appointment time via text, email, and phone call to be at 9am. The day of, at 8:30, they called to tell me someone on their end had moved the appointment to an 8:15 drop-off without informing me and they wondered if because I missed that window, I could come at 11:30. I accommodated despite the impact on my day (I live on an island only accessible by ferry so scheduling impacts can ripple big on weekends). I arrived at 11:36 (delayed due to an unforeseen road blockade on my route) and they turned me away because I was 6 minutes late. I am angry that I accommodated their error by two and half hours and they would not accommodate my 6 minute delay. The receptionist said they were understaffed. Understaffing and administrative errors impacted my dog’s ability to receive care and I got the impression they wanted to shift the accountability to me for that. We are done with Banfield.
