I have brought both of my cats here and my dog for the last 3 years and even paid them $180 a month for their "preventative care plan" (which is a scam) I have had 2 emergency situations and both were handled in my opinion embarrassingly by the staff at banfield First was my cat who was unable to move her neck one day when i got home from work, I called banfield who told me I would need to bring her to the emergency hospital in winston as this was something they couldn't handle, fine, i did that and my cat made a full recovery after a week in the hospital, but when I called to schedule a follow up appointment for bloodwork as recommended by the vet in winston they had absolutely no idea why I would need a follow up or that the cat had an emergency the week before regardless of the fact that I had called and informed them of the situation, so I then again explained everything that happened on the phone with the tech and scheduled the appointment. Then when i showed up for the appointment I heard the girl who checked me in go into the back and start laughing at me and say she had no idea why I brought my cat in for bloodwork??????? I pay you $180 a month and you can't write a note down on my account stating the reason for my appointment and then proceed to laugh at me while i'm sitting in the office???? The second was most recent when my dog was extremely lethargic and would not eat, I knew he had a blockage, still not sure from what but I knew it was an emergency and he needed to be seen immediately- I called banfield who fit me in same day for x-rays (after pleading with the girl on the phone for an appointment) and when i came in they acted as if i was making it up and there had to be some other reason he was acting this way- well- he had a blockage, the vet recommended i go to Reidsville veterinary hospital because I guess the surgeon who works for banfield also works at that hospital, so that is what I did. I spent $5500 on surgery for him and he sadly passed on the table during surgery. I called Banfield to cancel my dogs plan since he had died and they redirected me to call a different number for cancellation. I called on 3 different occasions, each time asked the automated message thing to call me back because the wait time was up to an hour to actually talk to a representative and when they finally called me back they told me I owe $200 if I want to cancel because my dog had just been seen so I would need to pay back those savings. Not a single person in the office or anyone over the phone told me they were sorry for my loss or even batted an eye or showed any kind of empathy for a dog they had treated for 3 years since he was 8 weeks old. Aside from these situations, there was also a time where I brought up the fact that I was pretty sure my dog has bad allergies. The vet tech checking me in got a nasty judgmental attitude and tried to tell me it was because he had fleas- LOL if you haven't guessed, he did not have fleas, and after a referral to an allergy specialist we found out he was allergic to most foods, the environment and his flea and tick medication- and then to make it even more laughable they decided they would “inform me” of his possible allergies during his next wellness exam and prescribed him an anti itch spray as if I hadn’t already told them about his situation multiple times. All of this to say that I have looked into pet insurance which comes with coverage for the same things banfield offers but also includes emergency visits and any medication/ flea and tick for $83 a month opposed to the $180 I was paying for Banfields plan this company scams people out of their money, they do not care about your pets or you and there is no kind of personal customer service experience when dealing with them. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND. The only reason they got 2 stars is because the actual VET who works there is fantastic and if she went to work somewhere else I would follow her. Otherwise I cancelled all 3 plans today and will find a local vet who gives a shit about me and my pets.

Banfield Pet Hospital Introduce

Welcome to Banfield Pet Hospital, located at 1566 Highwoods Blvd A, Greensboro, NC 27410, USA. Serving the local community, Banfield Pet Hospital aims to be a comprehensive resource for your beloved pets' health and well-being. Operating under the platform category of a Pet Hospital, Banfield provides a wide array of services and goods designed to cater to the diverse needs of pet owners and their animal companions.

Banfield Pet Hospital offers a broad spectrum of veterinary services to address various aspects of pet health. Their core services include routine wellness exams, which are crucial for preventative care and early detection of potential health issues. These check-ups often involve physical examinations, vaccinations tailored to your pet's needs and lifestyle, and discussions about nutrition and overall well-being. For unexpected health concerns, Banfield also provides sick visits and diagnostic services, including laboratory work, digital radiography (X-rays), and other imaging techniques to help identify the underlying causes of illness or injury.

In addition to general veterinary care, Banfield Pet Hospital offers surgical services. While specific surgical capabilities may vary, they generally handle common surgical procedures. It's important to note, however, based on customer reviews, that for specialized or complex surgical cases, they may refer patients to other veterinary facilities or surgeons. This highlights the importance of discussing the scope of surgical services directly with the hospital staff.

As a pet hospital, Banfield also operates as a pet pharmacy, providing convenient access to a range of medications, including prescription drugs, flea and tick preventatives, and other essential healthcare products for your pets. This on-site pharmacy aims to streamline the process of obtaining necessary medications after a consultation or procedure.

One of the features Banfield Pet Hospital is known for is its "preventive care plans." These membership-based programs are designed to make routine care more affordable through monthly payments that cover certain services like examinations, vaccinations, and parasite prevention. However, it's crucial for pet owners to carefully evaluate the specifics of these plans to determine if they align with their pet's individual needs and the overall value proposition. Some customer feedback suggests that these plans may not always offer the comprehensive coverage or cost savings expected.

Based on the information available, including direct customer reviews, it's essential to present a balanced perspective on Banfield Pet Hospital. One customer, who had been a client for three years, expressed significant dissatisfaction with their experiences, particularly during emergency situations. The review detailed instances of perceived miscommunication, lack of empathy, and financial concerns related to their preventive care plan and cancellation policies following the loss of their pet. This feedback raises concerns about the level of customer service and the handling of critical situations at this specific location.

The negative review described two emergency situations. In the first, involving a cat with a neck issue, the customer was directed to an emergency hospital elsewhere. Subsequent follow-up communication and in-clinic interaction were described as disorganized and unprofessional. The second emergency involved their dog with a suspected blockage, where the initial assessment and subsequent referral to another hospital for surgery resulted in the pet's passing. The customer reported a lack of empathy and difficulties in canceling their care plan, along with unexpected cancellation fees.

Furthermore, the same reviewer cited an instance where their concerns about their dog's allergies were initially dismissed, highlighting a potential disconnect in communication and proactive care. The reviewer ultimately concluded that the preventive care plan was not cost-effective compared to pet insurance and expressed a strong lack of recommendation for Banfield Pet Hospital, with the exception of one specific veterinarian.

However, it is important to acknowledge that experiences can vary. Another customer shared a positive experience at the Banfield-New Garden Rd location (it's important to note if this is the same as the Highwoods Blvd location or a different one within Greensboro). This review praised the staff and doctors as "exceptional" and highlighted their pet's positive experience, leading them to recommend that particular location. This contrasting feedback suggests that the quality of service and customer experience might differ based on specific staff members or potentially even different locations within the Banfield network.

For local users considering Banfield Pet Hospital at 1566 Highwoods Blvd A, Greensboro, NC, it is advisable to weigh the information presented. The hospital offers a range of standard veterinary services, including wellness exams, vaccinations, diagnostics, and a pet pharmacy. They also provide preventive care plans. However, the detailed negative review raises important questions about emergency handling, communication, customer service, and the overall value of the preventive care plans at this specific location. While another customer reported a positive experience at a different (or potentially the same) Banfield location in Greensboro, the concerns raised in the negative review warrant careful consideration.

Prospective clients are encouraged to conduct their own due diligence. This could include calling the hospital directly at (336) 323-7811 or +1 336-323-7811 to inquire about their services, appointment procedures, emergency protocols, and the specifics of their preventive care plans. It may also be beneficial to seek additional reviews or testimonials from other local pet owners to gain a broader understanding of the experiences at this particular Banfield Pet Hospital. Visiting the facility in person to assess the environment and interact with the staff could also provide valuable insights.

In conclusion, Banfield Pet Hospital in Greensboro, NC, offers a range of veterinary services expected from a pet hospital, including routine care, diagnostics, pharmacy services, and surgical capabilities (though the extent of surgical services should be verified). While some pet owners have reported positive experiences, detailed feedback also highlights potential concerns regarding customer service, emergency handling, communication, and the value of their preventive care plans. Local users are advised to consider all available information and conduct their own research to determine if Banfield Pet Hospital meets their individual needs and expectations for their pet's care.

We just recently switched vets and we loved our experience with Banfield-New Garden Rd. Staff and doctors we exceptional- most importantly, our Phoebe was happy! We would highly recommend this location!

I love Banfield Hospital. Although I’ve heard some negative reviews, I haven’t had any issues with their service. I have two dogs, and the staff always remembers their names when we come in, which is a really nice touch. Everyone there is friendly and welcoming. One thing I especially like is the drop-off service—perfect for people who work and can’t stay at the vet all day. The vet always calls to update me on my dogs’ status and provides a clear breakdown of costs, so I can choose treatments that fit my budget. I’d definitely recommend taking your pets to this vet!

My dog has severe vet anxiety/reactiveness and Dr.Lehman made this experience amazing for us both. Kobe was still on edge, but they were able to examine him and give an injection. This is the first time since he has been experiencing this anxiety (2 years) that a vet treated us with such kindness and patience. I am so grateful for this experience and someone caring for my sweet boy like that! I know with more visits like that, he will lose the anxiety he feels going to the vet!
