We are incredibly grateful for the exceptional care our beloved Bruiser received over his 16 years with us. Beyond the routine checkups and vaccinations as part of the Banfield program, we were continually impressed by Dr. Byrd and the team at the Capitol Hill location, especially as Bruiser’s health began to decline in his final year. They always made him a priority, fitting him into the schedule whenever we had concerns, and guided us with care, knowledge, and options, allowing us to do everything possible to support his quality of life. Though we are heartbroken over losing Bruiser, we are comforted by the compassionate and thoughtful experience we had at the clinic in our final moments with him. We couldn’t have asked for a better team to help us say goodbye. Thank you for the kindness and support during such a difficult time.

Nov 02, 2024 · Jason SuydamMy dog and I just had our first experience with Banfield and I was really impressed. When I called to check if they accepted the certificate for a free exam that the shelter gives you upon adoption it was easy to reach a person and get an answer! (yes). It was easy to confirm my appointment, Banfield is easy to find and there's a parking lot. When we arrived (Monday midday) the lobby was not busy, we were helped right away and shown to a room. My dog is a rescue and this was her first vet visit with us. She was super anxious and her adoption file had some notes about fearful and aggressive behavior with the vet at the shelter and Maddie and Dr. Stephenson were both so kind and very patient. They allowed me to set the pace of the visit and we came up with a plan together to make her next visit go more smoothly. They both took the time to introduce themselves to me and Stella and answered a few questions that I had. Checkout was smooth and everything was gone over together before payment unlike some places where they just tell you your total and that's it. I'm impressed with the care and humanity of the Cap Hill Banfield; it made me feel like I was starting a long term relationship instead of being shuffled through a service. Thank you!
Jan 08, 2025 · Courtney McLaughlinCan’t say enough good things about Banfield. The staff is always so kind and patient with my anxious dog. They help make every visit so much easier for the both of us. A special shout out to our vet Kayla who we’ve seen a few times - she is always so sweet and caring. I recommend Banfield to all my friends! Thank you for all that you do!
Jan 18, 2025 · Stephanie RadollThe associates are kind but the turnover and lack of attention to detail in reading notes and preparing pups and practitioners for the dogs makes me reconsider the reason I started using Banfield ( loyal Mars Vet Customer ). Banfield really needs to think how they better care for their vets and pets in order to keep both !
Feb 01, 2025 · Heather PfahlI've been skeptical of the Banfield plans after my cat passed away 3 months into the contract and I had to pay the rest out, but decided to give it another shot with my 16 year old dog when he didn't qualify for insurance and I've had an excellent experience at this location. The staff is so friendly and once they saved me a sticker after weeks between visits that looks just like him! Last week we had to say goodbye to Jasper and Dr. Byrd and Abby made it such a more positive experience than I expected. They gave us the time we needed with him before and after the procedure, with dim lights and a little fountain for white noise. They made sure we took care of payments and paperwork before we came in so we didn't have to linger afterwards. Dr. Byrd explained everything she did and what was happening medically with excellent bedside manner. I want to thank Dr. Byrd explicitly for taking such good care of him on his last day. It was a great run with you buddy. Can't wait to see you again someday.
