This is the Banfield inside Petsmart on FT Jackson Blvd. Their staff is awesome, both receptionist and technicians! Five stars for you. A tech walked out with me to collect urine for my dog's urinalysis. I saw Dr. Brie at Banfield FT Jackson. She is super smart and kind. She did not find Grade III heart murmur by listening to my dog's heart (read my review of the fiasco at PetSmart Two Notch Road Columbia, SC, when the groomer grabbed my dog to have the doctor say she couldn't have her teeth brushed due to hearing a Grade III). In fact, Dr. Brie said it had improved so that she couldn't hear a murmur with her stethoscope. Dr. Brie is a fine, knowledgeable, and caring veterinarian. And she did exactly as I asked with labs. I want to say to Natalie Leppard that gave Banfield one star, I agree you should have been taken into a room, and a doctor should have spoken to you since that is their practice or at least called you afterward. Although I appreciate that Dr. Brie gave me a quick next day appointment; she did not allow me in a room with my dog when she gave me the test results. After my dog was taken to the back for the labs and temperature reading, Dr. Brie came out and explained the test results in that little, small corner by the bench. I also asked for my dog's ears to be cleaned professionally because the groomer said she couldn't get the wax from her ears, although I have them cleaned at least once a week. The notes say, "Client declines." They deny I ever asked, so I was not given any cleanser like they gave another pet parent, and Dr. Brie just showed me that it was not just my dog's pigment on her outer ear, but a little brown matter, which she recorded in the record but didn't remove, except scratching to show me. I asked about foods in her homemade diet she has to eat due to food allergies and dog food prescriptions, making her sick with diarrhea. She had been doing well, but I needed better starches than white rice. She said she wasn't a nutritionist, and she would refer me, but she didn't. There were no referrals at all. I called back and insisted I at least get a referral to CVETS. Dr. Brie had mentioned Georgia and North Carolina Specialty Centers, and I would go to North Carolina, but CVETS Northeast also can handle my dog's specialty needs. After my request, Dr. Brie did call, and she said she had entered the referral. Furthermore, Dr. Brie, while she is a great veterinarian, was a bit insensitive on this visit. But I give her 4 stars because she was 5 star on the next visit. She said it wasn't wax in her ears or dirt, but that a groomer had let hair in the ear, and it became a ball of hair she could only get out by anesthesia if it doesn't come out by cleaning it. She is referred to a dermatologist to get the hair out that the groomer at Petsense has left in her right ear. Dr. Brie also corrected in room visits, letting me be in the room. October 1st 5 stars Dr Brie. She found the hairs Petsense got in Sookie's right and now left ears. This is an updated rating from 4 to 5 stars. I wish Dr. Brie would tell Petsmart my dog can be groomed at PetSmart again on FT Jackson, Blvd, because both managers won't even allow Sookie's teeth to be brushed or ears cleaned. The groomer said she can't override the Vet on Two Notch Road, who said she heard a Grade III, even though it is not true. I do know they wouldn't have gotten hair in Sookie's ears because they never have done this. Maryland PetSmart took Sookie for teeth and ears when I was there, even though this misdiagnosis by Two Notch Banfield is in the record. I know other dogs who are younger but with worse health problems than my dog, but are taken at PetSmart FT Jackson and Two Notch for full grooms.

I will never stop recommending this place! I have tried many other vets in Columbia but I couldn't be happier with Banfield. Both the vets are SO kind, their prices are incredibly transparent and inexpensive compared to everywhere around here and they are really willing to work with your budget. The front desk staff are so wonderful and helpful and it's fast!! Our two girls are pretty special needs and since we started going to Banfield I recommend it to anyone who will listen. My dog loves coming here!

When they say your pet is like another child, believe me..it truly is! My Kiko had loose bowels, so he had to get fecal exams and etc! Another hospital/vet bill! The staff treats him so nice; with so much love! The doctor is so knowledgeable. I am glad I have the wellness plan package to help cut down some of the vet costs! Now I just have to figure out what’s the best food to give my 3.5 year pupchild!
