Banfield Pet Hospital

Overall, we had a great experience at this location. Waited approx 15 mins, but it was worth the wait. Dr. Howell was friendly, professional, and genuinely showed interest in our furbaby, Louie the Shiba. The front desk associate was also very nice, she was welcoming and friendly.

I previously used Banfield while living in Tennessee and had a good experience, so I decided to continue with them after moving to Fairfax. Unfortunately, this location has been incredibly unprofessional, particularly the older receptionist. When I brought my dog in for a cytology test, I was met with rude comments and a complete lack of professionalism. She struggled to understand that the phone number I provided was linked to my account and even made unnecessary remarks about how much my dog eats—despite the fact that her diet (1 cup, twice a day) is perfectly appropriate for an elderly dog. When I requested an estimate for my dog’s surgery, I was shocked to see additional charges that increased the bill by $700–$1,300. When I asked for clarification, the receptionist became extremely defensive instead of providing a clear explanation. To make matters worse, when I checked my pet’s online account, the surgery appointment was incorrectly listed as a dental checkup. I would not recommend this Banfield location. They are unprofessional, disorganized, and seem to add unnecessary costs to major procedures. Save yourself the stress and take your pet elsewhere.

Legit the BEST Bannfield in the area. I used to go to Potomac Yards (absolutely a great Vet) but when I needed a Vet “TODAY” they came thru for me. They have been so phenomenal. I won’t take my Baby anyplace else because of the staff and their Vet.

Banfield hospitals receptionists are usually no good, but this location (Fairlake) has great CSRs who are kind and helpful.

One of the vet technicians named Kierra was phenomenal. She took the time to speak with me about my boyfriend's dog named Zoey, who we sadly had to send to the Rainbow Bridge several months past. Kierra was one of the attending personnel during the euthanasia. She truly cares about pets. I bought white roses for Zoey, and we took one rose with us to the vet on her last day. The white rose was placed beside her face after she passed away. She saved the rose and ensured it was placed inside Zoey's bag. She gave Zoey a kiss and whispered, "I'm sorry this happened to you." (Kierra knew Zoey's illness progressed rather quickly). When Kierra shared her story with me, it truly warmed my heart. She also shared with me her tragic, recent loss of her own dog named Venus. After our heart to heart convo, she asked if she could give me a hug. I trust her to take care of my pets both while alive and after they pass away before they're cremated. She deserves to be acknowledged for her sincere love and devotion to animals, as well as their pet parents. Thank you for being such a lovely person, Kierra!!!!!
