Despite other reviews on this location, I have had great experiences with Dr.Aiken and the vet techs here. This is a long review, but I think parents who are on the fence about care for their babies will appreciate it. Some things I do keep in mind that may differ is that I have the puppy package with Banfield, so all his appointments, shots, and his neuter are covered, which I highly recommend if you have a puppy or kitten. Another thing is that I researched this company before I chose it, and know I can use their app to ask the vet questions or seek medical treatment for my puppy if it’s after hours. THIS IS NOT YOUR STANDARD VET CLINIC. I worked at plenty of them to know there is much more hand holding, prompting and individualized care at small vet clinics/hospitals that aren’t under a big corporation. This is basically retail animal care, meaning you get the basics. If you have a healthy animal and just need the basics, and can’t afford standard vet prices, I highly suggest Banfield in Kennesaw. I’m saving hundreds of dollars compared to quotes from other local hospitals. If you can afford it, prefer something individualized and need more guidance for care with your animals, maybe this isn’t the place for you. I use Banfield for my puppy, because he’s generally healthy and it fits our needs with him. But I do take my cats somewhere else that cater more to their individual needs. Now, onto their staff. I have had a generally great experience, but there is no “hand holding”. They won’t call you if you need to set up an appointment, and the front desk takes awhile checking out (I’ve waited 20 minutes before). Neither of these things are a deal breaker personally, but it’s something to be aware of. You also kind of get what you get when it comes to doctors. The same one isn’t there everyday like at small hospitals. Otherwise, they’ve always treated my puppy kindly, and the techs always listen to my concerns.

Mar 10, 2025 · Britani WebbI’ve been a loyal Banfield Pet Hospital member for five years, and I’m incredibly disappointed with the care my dog LunaRiver received during a recent visit. My dog was scheduled for a dental procedure, but when we arrived, I was informed that the blood machine wasn’t working, and they couldn’t perform the procedure. While I understand that technical issues are out of their control, what I don’t understand is the lack of care that followed. My main concern is that my dog was left without food or water for over six hours while under their care. When I asked why, I was told it was "against protocol" because they didn’t know her allergies. This reasoning is completely illogical and frankly, unacceptable. She’s been a patient at this location for years — her allergy information should have been in their system, especially for situations like this. The fact that they didn’t even offer her basic care during such a long period is inexcusable. This location has completely lost my trust, and as much as I’ve valued my relationship with Banfield over the years, I will not be returning to this particular one. I expect better from a veterinary practice that I’ve been so loyal to. My dog deserves better, and frankly, so do all the other pets that come through their doors.
Feb 04, 2025 · Chelsea BertrandI took my puppy to Banfield Hospital on December 27th because I noticed she was scratching her ears since I got her. At the appointment, the nurse diagnosed her with an ear infection and prescribed an ear wash and ear drops for two weeks. However, after completing the treatment, my puppy was still scratching her ears to the point of crying. I took her back this past week, and they informed me that she still had bacteria in her ears. The staff explained that toy poodles like her normally need their ears plucked and mentioned they typically administer medication on the first visit, followed by educating the pet parent. When I expressed my concerns about this not being done during the initial visit, the manager told me they normally don’t do ear plucking for puppies at a young age—but this was never communicated to me. If this had been explained upfront, it could have saved my puppy additional discomfort and spared me the extra $150 for testing and medication. After this experience, I will not be returning to this location. As a pet parent, I trust providers to prioritize the best care for our fur babies. Seeing my puppy suffer due to incomplete care and inconsistent communication is disheartening.
Jan 17, 2025 · Cenne AndersonPoor treatment of my cats and neglect. The last occurrence was the last straw for my babies. There is no way to contact Banfield outside opening hours and that is concerning if there is an emergency. Expressed concern to Banfield and no one reached out to me. Kennesaw location has not even reached out regarding making an appointment that is included in the plan. My cats and family now suffer anxiety going to this location. It really should be zero star.
Feb 18, 2025 · MinnieBanfield will scam you out of extra money if you do not sign up for their plan. My kitten went into heat early and we went in for a checkup with Dr. Sanford, who confirmed she was in heat but said we could go through with the spay surgery. I got an estimate of $500 for the surgery that day. I went in to drop off the kitten the next morning, again receiving an estimate of $500. The morning of the surgery they required bloodwork and a heartworm test for around ~$150. After they had completed all tests I got a call saying it would be another $100 for the surgery because my cat was in heat. They put me in a position to lose more money no matter if I had chosen to postpone the surgery. It's ridiculous that Dr. Sanford failed to include the extra fee in the two estimates I received before the procedure. It's clear that I was informed late for their financial benefit, there is no excuse for it. Very disappointed.
