Been going here for 9 years. Always greeted warmly. Techs are normally friendly and pleasant except 1 which was my most recent interaction. She was not very personable. Love how the vet explains things on the phone. She seems to really care. A couple times it seemed that the drop off process took longer than normal or what I was use to. It took almost 30 minutes but still love the service they provide. I also have to mention that I was very impressed with the Faithful Companion service/business they use when a pet passes away. Will continue to bring pets here.

Welcome to Banfield Pet Hospital
Welcome to Banfield Pet Hospital, located at 1101 Doral Dr in Poland, Ohio. As a part of a larger network of veterinary hospitals operating within the Pet Hospital category, this location aims to provide a range of medical services for pets in the Poland and surrounding communities. With a history spanning several years for some clients, Banfield Pet Hospital seeks to be a consistent provider of pet healthcare. However, customer reviews present a mixed perspective on the overall experience, highlighting both positive aspects and areas for potential improvement.
Based on the available customer reviews, the environment and staff interactions at Banfield Pet Hospital in Poland, OH, appear to have both positive and negative elements. One long-term client of nine years consistently experienced warm greetings and generally found the veterinary technicians to be friendly and pleasant. This suggests that for many, the initial interactions and the overall atmosphere can be welcoming. The reviewer also specifically praised the veterinarian's communication style during phone consultations, noting her apparent care and thorough explanations. This indicates a positive aspect of the veterinary team's engagement with pet owners, particularly in providing information and demonstrating concern for the animals' well-being.
However, the same reviewer noted an inconsistency with one recent interaction involving a technician who was perceived as "not very personable." This highlights a potential variability in the staff's demeanor. Additionally, the reviewer mentioned occasional delays in the drop-off process, sometimes taking up to 30 minutes, which could be an inconvenience for pet owners with busy schedules. Despite these minor drawbacks, this long-term client expressed continued loyalty due to the overall service provided, also commending the "Faithful Companion service/business" utilized when a pet passes away, indicating a supportive approach during difficult times.
In contrast, another review presents a more critical perspective, describing the overall experience as "inconsistent and very unhelpful." This client reported significant difficulties in contacting the hospital by phone, often only being offered drop-off appointments. This limitation in appointment scheduling and communication accessibility can be a major frustration for pet owners seeking timely care or wanting to discuss their pet's condition directly. Furthermore, this reviewer drew a negative comparison with their dog's experience at this Banfield location compared to another veterinary office (including a different Banfield), noting excessive anxiety at the Poland location. This was attributed to the clinic's policy of not allowing owners in the back to comfort their pets during examinations or procedures, which can be a significant concern for owners of anxious animals.
The second reviewer also expressed dissatisfaction with the front desk staff, describing them as "unhappy" and making clients "feel like an inconvenience." Such negative interactions with administrative staff can significantly impact the overall client experience and perception of the hospital's professionalism and care. Based on these concerns, this reviewer stated they would "never recommend this office to anyone that actually cares about their animals," indicating a strong negative sentiment towards the clinic's practices and environment.
As a Banfield Pet Hospital, this location likely offers a range of standard veterinary services, including routine check-ups and wellness examinations, vaccinations, parasite prevention, dental care, and potentially more advanced medical and surgical procedures. Banfield is also known for its Optimum Wellness Plans, which are membership programs designed to make preventative care more affordable through monthly payments. However, the conflicting customer experiences suggest that the quality of service delivery and the overall client experience may vary.
Given the mixed reviews, it is challenging to ascertain specific promotional information for this particular Banfield Pet Hospital location in Poland, OH, based solely on this data. Banfield as a corporation often has various promotions and wellness plan options that may offer cost savings on preventative care and other services. To obtain accurate and up-to-date information on any specific promotions or wellness plans available at the Poland, OH, location, it is recommended to contact the hospital directly at (330) 629-6221 or +1 330-629-6221. Their staff will be able to provide details on any current offers and help you understand the costs associated with their services and wellness plans.
In conclusion, Banfield Pet Hospital in Poland, OH, presents a mixed picture based on the available customer reviews. While some long-term clients appreciate the warm greetings, the veterinarian's communication, and the availability of services like the Faithful Companion program, others have raised significant concerns regarding inconsistent service, difficulty in communication, restrictive appointment policies, the handling of anxious pets, and the demeanor of some staff members. Prospective clients should carefully consider these differing experiences and contact the hospital directly to inquire about their specific needs, policies, and any available wellness plans or promotions to determine if this Pet Hospital is the right fit for their animal companion's care.

Mar 30, 2025 · Janet PippinThis place is inconsistent and very unhelpful. It’s impossible to get a hold of anyone on the phone and when you do they only ever have drop off appointments. After taking my dog to a different vet office (even the Banfield in Cranberry Township) I realized it is not normal for my dog to have so much anxiety at the vet. They never allow us in the back to comfort our dog. The girls at the desk are unhappy and make you feel like an inconvenience even though it’s their job?? I would never recommend this office to anyone that actually cares about their animals.
May 16, 2025 · Cailin GrayI believe this company has predatory policies. this is not against the doctors and front desk clerks at my local PetSmart Banfield Hospital. This has to do with the company that’s headquarters is in Canada. .I experienced a customer service representative from Banfield Pet hospital that was very unprofessional and not focused on taking care of their clients who pay a monthly premium to this company. whether our pet is seen or not . This company would not be Operatable if no clients paid the monthly wellness plan fees. This is my personal experience and I would not recommend Banfield to any pet owner. Look at the multiple one star reviews for this company.
May 22, 2025 · Ceyaire MilonFirst I called it was maybe like 9:15 talking to the receptionist she immediately started to give me numbers to a different clinics that were really far from me because they were closing at 10. After seeing more of my cat condition I made it a point to me just take him up there. it's only like 10 min from my house. It was like 10 min till 10 and the lady in the reception office didn't say a word just looked at me with my cat in my arms and hurry up to run out if the office ignoring me. I took him home I tried the fry next day again to bring him up there this time barley breathing I was told there wasn't a doctor till noon I then drove to a vet doctor on market by then he had died in my arms. Com see to find out all he needed was a catheter p you t in an do his blatter drained. The people who work and run this clinic don't belong in the position of running a hospital. This place is for emergencies but the only thing important to them is their own priorities and have no commitment to being of service or have any integrity to the field they chose as a career. Money is probably the only thing that is motivating this place of business. We need another clinic one that is a bit more passionate towards saving our pets. Especially when they are connected so deeply to our lives and family I lost one of the most important parts of my life and a little more of my faith in humanity. I can only hope that one day they get treated that way so they know how it feels to be treated with such disregard to like there lives have no value
Jan 29, 2025 · Joseph RudolphiStaff is really friendly, clean facility, doctor takes time to talk to you and our kittens don’t get anxious showing up! They treat our kittens really nice and we get excellent care for them here. Highly recommend
