I had the BEST visit at this location! The staff was very kind and answered all of my questions/concerns thoroughly (without trying to up sell me on anything), and were kind enough to offer discounts and advice where possible. They were wonderful with my pets and made their experience as stress free as possible. Finally found a long term veterinarian for my two babies Moon & Pluto!!!

After a heartbreaking first visit, Banfield has been supportive, kind and compassionate every visit. While working through a potential health issue Dr McDonald has been informative, and listened to every question or concern I have to provide the best care for my boy. You can tell she truly cares, is honest, and concerned for the patient and the pet parent!

I was a new pet parent in 2014 and trusted Banfield Smyrna to care for my male Morkie puppy on their Wellness Plan. I signed up when i got him and made sure he got all the recommended shots and treatments. I started to notice some differences in his health back in April 2024. Weight gain, excessive thirst and panting. Shortly after that the vet who had been taking excellent care of my beloved and was also very communicative on details left the practice and moved to another area. I was stuck with the pompous, arrogant, and dismissive "WG" who was treating my dog and told me I had to "make an appointment" to talk to him about my dog and his care. I had his annual teeth cleaning and nothing out of the ordinary was discovered, even though we had to wait on some blood work to do this procedure because his liver enzymes were off. By this time, there were several more prevalent issues with blood in my baby's stool, sometimes with constipation causing him to strain extremely hard. When I called for advice from him I was told that it didn't seem serious and gave him recommended meds and "watch him for more concerns" Shortly after I then met "JG" who was much more helpful and concerned. Based on my dog's symptoms of panting, excessive thirst, and pot (tight) belly, they were sure it was Cushings disease and started doing testing and medicating my dog accordingly. She assured me the type of Cushings was not cancerous. Fast forward to September 26, the day after the second blood test to confirm Cushings, my dog was struggling to breathe. After the hurricanes, the regular staff wasn't in Smyrna so I took him to a very concerned Dr R in Kennesaw who advised that Radiographs were necessary to find out was was going on suggesting it may just be pneumonia. Well it wasn't pneumonia, and although the Cushings diagnosis was accurate, my dog had aggressive lung cancer. A mass that started in his chest and metastasized to his lungs. I suggest if your dog is having symptoms of anything that isn't on Banfields ABC's that you take your beloved fur baby somewhere else. Banfield's Wellness Plan was an expensive and heartbreaking mistake!

Efficient and quality pet care. Beyond superb customer service. Each time I call, my request are met with grace (I have called a lot due to my dog's ear infection Lol). They will even call to check on your animal after treatment and/or regular visits. I would recommend this location to anyone with pets.

I’ve taken my dog, Moose, here since he was a puppy. I go out of my way to go to this location even though I live in Mableton because the service is that good. My experience today was a testament to how great the team here does. The receptionist who checked us in was extremely friendly. Tristan, the vet tech who met with us in the room before I dropped him off, was so understanding, patient, and positive even though I had some anxiety about what my dog was experiencing. Dr. McDonald called me to walk me through her recommendations and was flexible based on our various limitations. This location has the big corporate logo on the door but gives a small, local vet clinic feeling. I cannot recommend them enough!
