I cannot recommend strongly enough to avoid Banfield Pet Hospital's wellness plans. After the heartbreaking loss of my beloved dog, instead of showing compassion, Banfield made an already difficult situation even worse. Despite my dog not receiving any care from them during this time, Banfield continued to insist that I owed them money for an entire year. We had properly cancelled our plan, yet they persisted in sending bills. The situation escalated to the point where they threatened to send us to collections - all while we were grieving the loss of our pet. Their aggressive billing practices and complete lack of empathy during such a sensitive time were shocking. What should have been a period of mourning turned into constant stress dealing with their billing department's harassment. Their wellness plans may seem appealing at first, but they can quickly turn into a nightmare if circumstances change. Save yourself the added stress and choose a traditional veterinary practice that bills for services actually rendered. There are many compassionate veterinarians who will provide excellent care without locking you into problematic payment plans.

Banfield is just so over priced compared to other places. Everything has a fee and I feel like they over medicated my dog. The staff in the vets are actually really great and seem to really care about their work but the end of the day it is a for-profit business and they will try to upsell you on that Wellness plan as many times as possible. What really did me in is when my dog needed to get neutered and the bill came out to $1300! In comparison another smaller dog clinic would’ve done the procedure for about $200. They added all these unnecessary exams and tests, such as fecal and oral testing that wasn’t needed and already performed. They will say that this is included in the wellness plan, not telling you that it comes in an additional charge that you’ll pay out for MONTHS. LISTEN TO ALL OF THE REVIEWS BECAUSE IT IS TRUE.. The reason I gave them two stars is that I do blame myself for not learning the difference between a private pet hospital and a regular clinic because Banfield is a private hospital. They charge way more for all of their services. I was even getting charged for disposal of bio?!?!

My dog had an appointment for simple routine vaccinations that would take about 10 minutes. The blue route was horribly backed up and I arrived less than 15 minutes late because of this. They cancelled me within this timeframe, didn’t even call to see if I was still coming, just cancelled it outright. They refused to squeeze my dog in for this and were very obstinate and rude. I typically come here when I’m up seeing my parents, but I think I’ll just wait for when I’m in my home area because the lack of flexibility and understanding was outrageous.

Please take this advice and do not take your pets here. Banfield is as corporate as it gets, they are only concerned with money, not your pets health! And do NOT buy their pet insurance!!! Read on! Digging deeper: the receptionists are usually pleasant. The rest of the staff however, not so much. No bedside manner, no concern for your feelings or the comfort of your pets, just money money money. They will suggest test after test, while barely looking at you while they speak about your dieing animal. Dr. B was the only good thing about this place, she was as compassionate as they come. I wish she'd leave here and start her own practice! As far as the insurance, I purchased insurance at the suggestion of staff, for my older dog whose health was failing him. I was told I could cancel the insurance at any time. I was also told before purchasing the insurance, that my bill would be substantially cheaper. Well, I was lied to on both accounts. After spending the extra money to purchas the insurance, my bill was a whopping $6 cheaper. Yes, I spent something like $150 MORE dollars to save $6. What a bargain. Then, unfortunately about 2 months later, my dog sadly passed away. Following his passing, I called to cancel the insurance. I was then told that while I could cancel the insurance at any time, I was UNDER CONTRACT (which was never once told to me), and that if I canceled, I'd still have to pay for the remaining yearly balance. So, I ended up paying pets insurance for an additional 9 months for a dog that had already passed. Insult to injury. Having to deal with my dogs declining health, the cold hearted nature of some of the veterinary doctors and vet techs, then being mislead and lied to about the "savings" with purchasing the pet insurance, THEN still having to pay insurance for an animal who had already passed, and not being told the insurance was contractual but instead being told I could cancel at any time. An absolute horrible experience.

The Banfield standard of care has decreased significantly since Covid. Quite a few of the locations are dramatically, understaffed, inexperienced, and overall lacking in care. I brought my deceased pet to this location for cremation with a return of ashes. I was quoted one price over the phone and double the amount when I arrived. My dog was hastily taken from my arms. Once I finally received my ashes and clay imprint, I noticed that the imprint was sloppily taken and filled with ink and what appeared to be dark colored cat hair. My dog was all white. I took a picture of a previous imprint from another vet and the one that I received from this location. Do yourself a favor and take your pet to a private vet. I will never visit this location again.
