Made an appointment a week or so in advance, we were running late and I called twice and left a message to inform the office. We arrive maybe 10 minutes after scheduled appointment and we were informed everyone was about to go to lunch... the only option was drop off and pick up. But this was supposed to be her first vet visit. How heartless would I be to leave my scared baby alone her first time?

Welcome to Banfield Pet Hospital

Banfield Pet Hospital in Danvers, MA, located at 104 Andover St, Danvers, MA 01923, USA, is part of a large and established network of veterinary clinics operating under the "Pet Hospital" category. This particular Banfield location, like others in the network, aims to provide comprehensive and accessible veterinary care to pets, focusing on preventive medicine and general health maintenance. With a phone number of (978) 774-2359 or +1 978-774-2359, the clinic offers a point of contact for pet owners seeking veterinary services in the Danvers area.

The environment at Banfield Pet Hospital is typically designed to be functional and efficient, catering to a high volume of patients. While specific interior aesthetics for the Danvers location are not detailed, Banfield generally strives for a clean, professional, and relatively standardized clinic setup across its locations. This usually includes a reception area, multiple examination rooms, and dedicated spaces for diagnostics, treatment, and sometimes surgery. The atmosphere aims to be welcoming to pets and their owners, though customer experiences can vary, as reflected in the provided reviews. One review highlights a positive experience, noting "Staff are friendly and professional," indicating a positive and supportive environment for the pet and owner. However, another review describes a challenging experience involving delays and a lack of accommodation for a first-time vet visit for an anxious pet, suggesting that while the physical environment may be consistent, the operational flow and staff interaction can significantly impact the perceived comfort and heart of the clinic on a given day. Banfield, as a corporate entity, emphasizes sustainability initiatives within its operations, which might indirectly contribute to the clinic's overall environment through practices like waste reduction and energy efficiency, though these are more behind-the-scenes aspects than direct client-facing features.

Banfield Pet Hospital offers a broad spectrum of veterinary services, primarily centered around preventive care and general practice. These services are often bundled into their signature "Optimum Wellness Plans®" (OWPs), which are designed to provide affordable, year-long packages of preventive care. Typical services available at Banfield include comprehensive physical examinations to assess a pet's overall health, routine vaccinations (such as rabies, distemper/parvo, feline leukemia, and bordetella), and parasite control programs for both internal and external parasites. They also offer in-house laboratory diagnostics for quick results on blood work, urinalysis, and fecal exams, aiding in the early detection and management of various conditions. Diagnostic imaging, including digital radiography (X-rays) and dental digital X-rays, is available to further investigate internal health and dental issues.

Beyond preventive care and diagnostics, Banfield Pet Hospital provides general dentistry services, including professional dental cleanings, and in many locations, dental extractions and oral surgery. General surgery services are also offered, including routine spay and neuter procedures. Some locations may offer more complex soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries, though this can vary by clinic. Additionally, Banfield provides behavior evaluations, coat and skin care treatments, gastrointestinal illness diagnosis and treatment, nutrition advice, and orthopedic evaluations. They also offer microchipping, pharmacy options for prescribed medications, and end-of-life services, aiming to support pets throughout their life stages. A notable feature of their service model is the integration of virtual care options, such as Virtual Visits with their veterinary team and 24/7 access to veterinary professionals through "Pet Chat™" for OWP members, enhancing accessibility to advice and support.

A key feature of Banfield Pet Hospital is its emphasis on the Optimum Wellness Plans®. These plans are a subscription-based model offering various levels of preventive care tailored for puppies, kittens, dogs, and cats. The OWPs typically include unlimited office visits, comprehensive exams, routinely recommended vaccinations, diagnostic testing (like blood work and fecal exams), and often include professional dental cleanings or additional diagnostic tests depending on the plan chosen. The plans aim to make preventive care more affordable and predictable for pet owners, providing discounts on many services not explicitly included in the plan. This model encourages regular veterinary visits, which is crucial for early detection and management of health issues. Another feature is the interconnectedness of their network; pet medical records are accessible across all Banfield locations, allowing for seamless care if a pet owner travels or visits a different Banfield hospital.

Regarding promotional information, Banfield Pet Hospital frequently offers incentives for new enrollments in their Optimum Wellness Plans. For instance, common promotions include waived enrollment fees and even one month free with a new OWP enrollment, making it an attractive option for pet owners looking for a comprehensive and managed approach to their pet's health. They also provide discounts on various services and products for OWP members. Specific discounts, such as military discounts, are often available. Promotional codes and coupons can be found online, offering percentages off wellness plans, pet medicine, healthcare products, and services. Free exam and consultation coupons are also commonly promoted to encourage new clients to experience Banfield's services. These promotions are designed to attract pet owners to their wellness plan model, which emphasizes proactive and preventive veterinary care as a means of maintaining long-term pet health and providing cost savings over individual services. The clinic's phone number, (978) 774-2359, serves as the primary contact for inquiries about services, appointments, and current promotions.

Excellent service to my yorkie Sharly. Staff are friendly and professional can't ask for a better veterinarian. Thank you for your hard work and dedication.

Twice they made my dog's documents with the wrong microchip, this caused me huge problems with immigration when returning to the USA, and they don't want to redo the documents for free, they want me to pay again to make new documents, I don't recommend this clinic to anyone

I would NOT recommend Banfield, or their wellness plan to anyone. My dog passed last week, he had a large mass on his spleen. Under the plan my pet was seen twice per year. Banfield never noticed this mass on my dog, even after he lost 30 lbs. in 3 years, and they never shared any concerns about this rapid wait loss.

The best Banfield in the area! we've been going here for a few years and no complaints. Big thanks to the front desk staff for keeping an eye on the cancellations this week and getting my dog in asap to get his injury looked at. The vet here is super nice and friendly, the nurses are all great too
