My experience is consistent with the other 1 star reviews. I asked the front desk Casey for a very specific tick exam and she assured me the Vet would inspect and comb out any ticks. I waited 4 hours to be told by the Vet “No we don’t comb out ticks, buy your own comb and do it your self”. Banfield Please tell your customers upfront so they can be honestly informed. The service quality at this location is very unpredictable.

Welcome to Banfield Pet Hospital
Welcome to Banfield Pet Hospital, located at 26761 Aliso Creek Rd, Aliso Viejo, CA 92656, USA. As a Pet Hospital, Banfield aims to provide a range of veterinary services for your animal companions. Based on the available customer reviews, experiences at this location appear to vary, and it's important for local users to consider these different perspectives when choosing a veterinary care provider.
As a Pet Hospital, Banfield likely offers a variety of services, which typically include routine check-ups, vaccinations, spaying and neutering, dental care, and treatment for illnesses and injuries. One positive review specifically mentions the spaying of a one-year-old Labrador named Callie, where the owner expressed happiness with the care and love Callie received from the staff. They also noted that the staff answered all their questions and provided helpful advice on aftercare, indicating a positive experience with surgical services and post-operative support.
However, another review presents a contrasting experience regarding a specific request for a tick exam. The customer stated they asked the front desk for a "very specific tick exam" and were assured that the veterinarian would inspect and comb out any ticks. After waiting for four hours, the veterinarian reportedly told the customer that they do not comb out ticks and advised the customer to buy their own comb. This discrepancy between the information provided by the front desk and the service ultimately delivered led to dissatisfaction. The reviewer described the service quality at this location as "very unpredictable."
The environment at Banfield Pet Hospital in Aliso Viejo, based on these reviews, seems to have aspects that are appreciated, such as the caring nature of some of the staff, particularly those involved in post-surgical care. The owner of the Labrador who was spayed felt comfortable leaving their pet there, suggesting a level of trust in the team's attentiveness. On the other hand, the inconsistency in service delivery and communication, as highlighted by the tick exam experience, might lead some pet owners to perceive the environment as potentially unreliable in meeting specific needs.
Key features of Banfield Pet Hospital, as gleaned from these reviews, include the availability of surgical procedures like spaying, which at least one customer found to be handled with care and provided with good aftercare guidance. The staff involved in Callie's spay were described as caring about pets and their owners. However, a potential drawback, as pointed out by another customer, is the unpredictability of service quality and potential misinformation from the front desk regarding the scope of services offered by the veterinarians.
The prompt asks to include information about goods for sale, aligning with the "Pet Hospital, which provides corresponding services or goods for sale" category. Banfield Pet Hospitals often have an in-house pharmacy where pet owners can purchase medications, preventative treatments (like flea and tick control), and nutritional products. While not explicitly mentioned in these specific reviews, it is reasonable to assume that this location also offers such products. The negative tick exam review indirectly touches upon this, as the vet suggested the customer buy their own comb, implying the potential availability of such items for purchase, although the service of combing itself was not offered.
Currently, there is no promotional information provided within the text of these reviews. Banfield as a national chain often has various promotions or wellness plans. For specific details on any current offers at the Aliso Viejo location, it would be best to contact them directly at (949) 360-0807 or +1 949-360-0807, or visit the Banfield Pet Hospital website.
In conclusion, Banfield Pet Hospital in Aliso Viejo has received both positive and negative feedback from customers. One pet owner was very happy with the care their Labrador received during a spay procedure, highlighting the caring staff and helpful aftercare advice. However, another customer experienced a significant discrepancy between the information received from the front desk regarding a tick exam and the service provided by the veterinarian, leading to dissatisfaction and a perception of unpredictable service quality. Local users should consider these differing experiences when making their decision about veterinary care for their pets.
For those in the Aliso Viejo, CA area looking for a Pet Hospital, Banfield is one option. We encourage you to consider the varying experiences reported by other pet owners and perhaps contact the clinic directly to inquire about their services and how they can meet your specific needs. Understanding the full scope of their services and their approach to communication can help you make an informed decision about your pet's care.

Apr 07, 2025 · Adam McNicolMy 1 year old Labrador , Callie, recently got spayed with Banfield Aliso, and I couldn’t be happier with the care and love she received from the staff! They very much care about pets and their owners, and I felt very comfortable with my pup being there. They also answered all my questions and were very helpful advising on her after care. Thank you all!
Feb 26, 2025 · Jale GoztepeUpdate Mar 2025: I have contacted Banfield a number of times over the last year to sort this bill out and have received no help. Save your money, your mental health and your pet’s well being and do not use Banfield. Sadly I have several other pets and have happily paid for their fair, high quality and itemized vet services at Niguel Animal Center, but this was not the experience I had with Banfield at all. My visit itself was okay, but to say you pay for a subscription and get care for your pet is a lie. I had a dog I was adopting from a friend and took her for ONE visit for a dog I had for three days. I not only paid for the subscription, but they had me pay an additional 250 for the visit. The dog ended up attempting to kill my other pet and had to go back to its original family, I had the dog a total of three days. When I called they refused to let me terminate the contract and said I either needed to pay for an entire year or pay over 500+ for the first visit, when all that was done was checking for a bug and an antibiotic. Overall very criminal and if you have to cancel for any reason you’re screwed, in addition to having to pay for more than the “subscription” in the first place. I use another vet for my other pets and recommend using someone who gives you honest pricing upfront and allows you to cancel instead.
Mar 04, 2025 · Milan SpilDO NOT TRUST this location! It is filled with inadequate, misleading information and ignorant management. After forcing my (minor) child into signing a "Health Agreement" in my absence (apparently they get some sort of reward for signing people up), they decided to deny their violation of the Fair Consumer Act and denied removing the account. Needless to say, their supervisor is not educated nor capacitated to understand the legal implications of their actions, especially when I am the ONLY owner of the account. She stated she didn't care and that I would have to sue in order to get the account off my record.
Dec 02, 2024 · NicoyyaThe staff and doctors provided the gold standard of care for my little pug! She always gets itchy skin and smelly ears during the summer and fall months, and they helped us find a solution that works for us.
