I’ve been taking my pets to Banfield for over 15 years. I used to take them to Dr. Liu, in Federal Way, WA. She was the BEST! When I moved to the Puyallup, WA area, I had to switch to the clinic there. 10309 156th St E, Puyallup, WA 98373 HUGE mistake!!! They’ve routinely dropped the ball on just about everything. At first, 9 yrs ago, we saw a different Dr. ever visit. With Dr. Liu, that was who we saw everytime we went in for an appointment. She referred us to oncologist for my golden retriever, she was right, brain cancer. She had to put down my dozen, in office, due to a severe back injury. She kept her comfortable until my friend could be there to be with me. When she passed, Dr. Liu gave me time, did not rush me. She showed true empathy. At the Banfield in Puyallup, it’s been bad from the get go 9 yrs ago! Yes, I paid the monthly fee on time every month & did every scheduled checkup, shot, teeth cleaning, etc..I DID MY PART! It is impossible to reach anyone by phone. They either say hold & hang up on you, leave a VM & they never call you back or they just don’t answer the phone. My English bulldog, Mia, should signs of VERY HIGH liver enzyme #’s approx 2 yrs ago. Dr. Burke put her on a (what I now know, was just a very expensive supplement) medication. Mia had to go in for blood work every few months. The #’s we’re going down a bit, but we’re not even close to being normal. Out of nowhere in 10/24, Dr. Burke told me to stop the med on 12/31 and come back for blood work in March 2025. I took her in to get it done. After a long wait, a new Dr. came out and said we need to talk. She was a young Dr., new & floated between clinics. She showed me 2 pages, that she had written out by hand, Mia’s liver #’s. She showed me & explained to me how bad Mia’s #’s were that day. Doubly as bad as when the liver problem was detected almost 2 yrs prior. She asked why Dr. Burke told me to stop the med & why she had me wait so long to have labs done? I had no idea, Dr. Burke had said that she wanted to see what #’s were going to be after going of med. No labs 10/2024-first week of April. Couldn’t get me in any sooner, they never can! This Dr. was amazing! She asked if she could do another type of blood test, not covered at all under stupid plan, I said of course. When she came back out about 20 mins later, I could tell by the look on her face that it was bad. And it was, VERY BAD. She suspected liver cancer! I was devastated! I have been a Banfield customer for over 8 years and the unprofessionalism this hospital and their staff displays towards customers is insane. Alex (front desk), Shannon (front desk) and Ali (Manager) are clueless when it comes to basic customer service. Lack of professionalism, accountability, and urgency around our appointments were lackluster. Randomly terminating appointments with zero explanation or notice. Requested basic vaccines and were forgotten on multiple occasions making us come back another day. I can’t say enough negative things about this hospital. Sad thing is… their corporate is trash too. Took over 2 weeks to even contact me regarding my concerns. Don’t trust this site or company with your animals.

Jul 03, 2024 · Desirae SilviaDr Burke is our veterinarian. She is great with our 8 year old Siberian Husky. Our dog is very scared to go to see the veterinarian. The staff are very well trained and are very able to calm our dog during our visit. This also includes Dr Burke who always is kind and compassionate towards our dog. She is also able to calm me as well and reassuring as to our dog’s condition and prognosis. I highly recommend the South Puyallup clinic as well as Dr Burke and the amazing staff that works there!
Apr 03, 2024 · Erik BakkeSo new puppy, bought plan and 3 weeks later and 3 doses if deworm, brought in stool sample and now they say wrong medicine. To make matters worse, have to wait 4 days for them to get it in. Now they say it is a tapeworm. My son's puppy and he will continue there but I certainly would not. I would not reccomend a vet clinic that can not properly diagnosed a tape worm issue in a puppy and did not question why after 3 doses, they don't follow up. They seem very inept. Would not recommend at all. UPDATE: Banfield reached out and made things right. ❤️
