This place is absolutely terrible. If you want your animal to receive proper care, I recommend going elsewhere. Dr. Dana Robinson specifically is extremely rude and judgmental. She is highly unprofessional. I do not recommend this place at all.

My recent experience at the Banfield Hospital in Biltmore was deeply disappointing and concerning. I brought my five-month-old puppy in for treatment of diarrhea, the only symptom she was exhibiting. Instead of focusing on her immediate needs, the veterinary technician immediately pressured me to sign up for their $50 monthly wellness plan, before even examining my pet. This aggressive sales tactic felt inappropriate and prioritized profit over patient care. My concerns escalated when, despite my puppy displaying only one symptom, the hospital suggested a series of tests, beginning with a $75 snap test for parvovirus. While this test thankfully came back negative, they then recommended a further $75 fecal test for Giardia. The significant delay in receiving the results – two weeks, despite being told it would take one to three days – was unacceptable. The nonchalant response from the veterinary technician, "no news is good news," was particularly troubling. Only after I personally returned to the hospital and pressed for the results did I discover the test had been positive for Giardia two weeks earlier, with no notification from Banfield. This lack of timely communication and follow-up is deeply concerning. Furthermore, I later learned from two other veterinarians that neither test was necessary, as my puppy's symptoms were consistent with the normal developmental stages of a growing puppy and the presence of common parasites in young animals' immune system development. This strongly suggests that Banfield Hospital engaged in unnecessary testing, resulting in an unwarranted $150 expense. The entire experience left me feeling that Banfield Hospital prioritized financial gain over ethical and compassionate care. The difficulty in obtaining the lab results, requiring an hour of persistent requests, further compounded my frustration. My subsequent attempts to contact Banfield corporate to address these issues have also been unsuccessful, with no return call after three weeks. Manager at this location has never offered me any type of professional refund, especially for the fecal test which I received two weeks late. I strongly urge potential clients to consider alternative veterinary options in the Arcadia-Biltmore area. My experience highlights a significant lack of empathy, professionalism, ethical conduct, and transparency at this particular Banfield location. The over-billing and delayed reporting are unacceptable and raise serious questions about the quality of care provided. Run don’t walk from Banfield Animal Hospitals.

Previous experiences with Banfield have been hit or miss with the rotating cast of veterinarians that provide pet care, resulting in a lack of consistent treatment, but my last experience here has been the determining factor in me having to write this review. I am moving out of the state and needed a health certificate for my cat in order to fly with him. I visited this location about 3 weeks before I left and Banfield said they could only issue the certificate on the week of travel. When asked, they said the certificate costs $60 which was fine by me. When I returned to Banfield on the week of my flight, I was told the visit would cost $200. I had already brought my cat in 3 weeks prior in which they gave him a clean bill of health but said they needed to do ANOTHER exam on him. At this point, I had 2 days left in the state and was out of options, so I had no choice but to shell out three times as much money as I was originally quoted. Had they been upfront about the need to perform another exam 3 weeks after they said my cat was in perfect health and that it would amount to $200, I would have explored other options, but I am of the belief that I was deliberately quoted a lower price and then told I had to pay $200 without time to explore other options. Banfield refuses to make things right or admit that they either miscommunicated or deliberately misrepresented the amount that it would cost to get the certificate. I can not recommend this vet due to their incredibly shady and seemingly predatory business practices.

DO NOT sign up for banfield. All the wellness plans don't matter because the 'vets' (salespeople) still charge you hundreds of dollars every visit. We signed up for the initial year commitment and every vet visit was a battle because they just try to sell you on unnecessary treatments. I literally never complain about businesses but I will go out of my way to tell everyone I know never to use this chain. also, we cancelled this plan months ago and just realized they have still been charging me $65 a month on one of my backup credit cards. Now I'll be spending the morning trying to get a hold of them and a refund (not likely).

The staff here are great, front desk to the doctor in charge. We took in a stray cat and getting him checked on was very short notice. After being declined by a couple other Banfield locations, this location took us in no problem. They were more than happy to help as much as they could. Very thankful for the effort they put in to help us with figuring out what to do with the new cat and getting him the treatment he needed. I highly recommend this location. They truly care about your pets.
