Please take your pet to see Dr Erika Nelson. My dog, Bexley, had shakey legs for a couple of years and every vet I took him to told me it was "normal old dog stuff." Our first appointment with Erika was going over his entire history. I've questioned whether or not his records were getting passed on to new vets, cause most never seemed to know anything about his history. But Erika was prepared, and patient with me as I dug deep into every bump and bruise my dog ever had. I felt listened to, and taken serious. She examined Bexley and was able to pinpoint where the issue was. He was having pain the entire time, but Erika was the first to really look for it. We started doing acupuncture and and a herbal regimen, he started gaining muscle back and the shaking almost completely subsided. For that alone, I am forever grateful to her. Bexley's belly started to grow. She was feeling his abdomen and said she thought his spleen was swollen. We got an ultrasound and sure enough his spleen and liver were enlarged. Our primary vet where we got the ultrasound done, didn't aspirate either one. I love our primary vet. Mosts veterinarians that I've talked to since then said there was no reason to aspirate at the time. But Erika knew. She saw the ultrasound and thought his liver needed checking out. I was struggling because my boy was so tired of being at the vet, so we decided to trust our primary vet didn't get it done. Not too long after he hurt his shoulder, and we had him on some pain meds and a sedative to try and heal him up. He has some side effects from the meds and we ended up in the ER one night. That night we were told he had cancer and a month to live if we didn't do chemo. Of course I couldn't do that to him, just being at the vet so often already was taking away his quality of life. I immediately messaged Erika. For the next month she kept my crazy at bay. She went above and beyond using all of her resources to make sure we were doing everything we could for him. Bexley has passed on now. Because of Erika I can take comfort knowing we did all we could. She created an environment where she can take her time with every patient. Where she caters the appointment to her patient, so they can truly be comfortable. She never stops paying attention, she is so perceptive of how the animals are feeling. She made me feel like we were her only patient. I was continuously impressed by Erika. She is so knowledgeable, but was never too proud to look something up or ask a colleague. Now I'm just rambling....but I will miss taking Bexley to see you, Erika. Having him pull me into your office to eat one million treats while you made him feel better is a cherished memory of mine. Thank you for everything

One reviewer mentioned that Dr. Nelson "created an environment where she can take her time with every patient...where she caters the appointment to her patient, so they can truly be comfortable." This suggests a calm and unhurried atmosphere, likely designed to minimize stress for the animals. The successful treatment of a dog with shaky legs through acupuncture and a herbal regimen indicates that these alternative therapies are integral to her practice. While they likely offer standard veterinary services such as examinations and diagnostics (as evidenced by the ultrasound for the dog with an enlarged spleen and liver), the integration of holistic approaches like acupuncture and herbal medicine appears to be a key feature. The reviews also suggest a commitment to thorough follow-up and support, especially during challenging times, such as the care provided to a dog with cancer.

One reviewer even described her as "an outstanding vet and a particularly compassionate human being" who is "affordable and accessible," "professional, timely, intelligent, and organized."

LOVE LOVE LOVE Ericka! She is an outstanding vet and a particularly compassionate human being. Would recommended her without a second thought. She deeply cares about animals and proves it every time we see her. She goes above and beyond her call of service. She has been a rare gem of a delight and a wonderful blessing to the vet community. My service dogs have been all the better for meeting her. I trust her wholeheartedly. She is both affordable and accessible. She is professional, timely, intelligent, and organized. I am so grateful we have her wisdom and insight into both routine care and acute emergencies. 10/10, 5 stars, gold medal. A true hero.

Dr. Erika is a very wise, compassionate and well informed practitioner. She was instrumental in spotting and supporting more serious neurological issues than we were aware of and helping to provide compassionate support during the unfortunate last few months of care for our 2 year-old Jaxx’s inoperable brain tumor. Jaxx was able to enjoy his favorite things: the beach, walks at the dog park, and charming people with his joyful trot and spirit a bit longer with the support of her prescribed herbs, general guidance, and initial acupuncture treatments. Forever grateful. 🐾💛

Dr Erika is the absolute best! She has helped me care for and rehab my 15 1/2 year old Blue Heeler Foster Pepper! She is attentive and so responsive when you have questions or need answers. She is definitely the “calm” in my storm when things aren’t looking good for my old pup. The best part is that she loves him up every time he sets foot in her office. We absolutely love you Dr. Erika! Thank you! ❤️🐾
