I have never had any problems with baker house, until we came to say goodbye to our beautiful fur baby. I understand the buildings old, but when I'm trying to say goodbye I don't want to hear about the staffs messy life drama. They were in the room next to us, and the door said "Cat Euthenasia". It was hard enough as it was, we didn't need that. The rest of the process was normal as it can be.

Baker House Animal Hospital Introduce
Welcome to the local introduction of Baker House Animal Hospital, a facility listed under the Pet Hospital category, located at 5038 Appaloosa Cir, Morrow, OH 45152, USA. Baker House Animal Hospital can be contacted at (513) 899-2300 or via mobile at +1 513-899-2300. As a local pet hospital, they are expected to provide a range of veterinary services for pets in the Morrow, Ohio area. However, the publicly available customer reviews present a mixed and concerning picture of the experiences at this clinic, which necessitates a careful and objective introduction based solely on the provided feedback.
One customer recounted a negative experience during the difficult time of saying goodbye to their pet. While acknowledging that the building might be old, they expressed discomfort at overhearing "staff's messy life drama" from an adjacent room, the door of which reportedly had a sign reading "Cat Euthanasia." The reviewer felt this detracted from the solemnity of the moment. They did note that the rest of the euthanasia process was "normal as it can be," indicating that the clinical procedure itself was adequate, but the surrounding circumstances caused distress.
In stark contrast, another reviewer stated unequivocally, "I will NEVER recommend Baker House to anyone!!" They cited a lack of empathy from the office manager and alleged that their dog's veterinarian "did not do what was right at all." This strongly negative sentiment raises significant concerns about the level of care and customer service experienced by this particular pet owner.
A detailed and highly critical review described a situation involving a mass found at the base of their dog's tail. During a check-up approximately one month after the dog's annual wellness exam (where no mass was detected), the reviewing pet owner brought their dog to Baker House for evaluation. The veterinarian reportedly felt the mass and, in their opinion, did not believe it was cause for concern. When the pet owner's wife inquired about a biopsy, the vet allegedly responded, "Well, I can do a biopsy if you really want to." Trusting the veterinarian's initial assessment, they declined at that time.
Tragically, within one to two weeks, the mass ruptured. Baker House was reportedly unable to provide immediate care, leading the pet owners to seek emergency surgery elsewhere. During this surgery, necrotic tissue was found, and a biopsy revealed the mass to be a cancerous tumor. Upon contacting the office manager at Baker House to discuss the situation and request a refund for the annual wellness plans (given the proximity of the initial exam to the cancer diagnosis), the reviewer described a "complete lack of empathy." The office manager allegedly did not inquire about the dog's well-being, refused the refund, and merely apologized for the "displeasure in the services provided."
This deeply negative experience led the reviewer to strongly advise others against taking their animals to Baker House, claiming that conversations with neighbors revealed "quite a few folks who have had bad experiences here as well!" While acknowledging that the vet techs were perceived as "great," the reviewer's overall experience, particularly the alleged lack of investigation into the tumor and the perceived lack of empathy from the office manager, resulted in their firm decision never to return.
Given the serious nature of the allegations in these reviews, particularly the potential misdiagnosis and the handling of the subsequent emergency and customer service interaction, it is challenging to objectively describe the positive aspects of Baker House Animal Hospital based solely on this feedback. The environment, based on one comment, is described as an "old building," which may or may not impact the quality of care but is a point noted by a customer during a sensitive time.
The services that Baker House Animal Hospital likely offers, as a Pet Hospital, would typically include:
- Routine wellness examinations
- Vaccinations
- Diagnosis and treatment of illnesses
- Surgical procedures (as implied by the reference to emergency surgery performed elsewhere due to Baker House's unavailability)
- Dental care
- Laboratory services
- Euthanasia services
- Potentially wellness plans (as mentioned in the refund request)
However, the quality and thoroughness of these services, particularly in diagnostic situations, are called into question by the negative experiences shared in the reviews.
The features of Baker House Animal Hospital that can be gleaned from these reviews are primarily negative:
- Potential for perceived lack of empathy from administrative staff.
- Concerns regarding the thoroughness of veterinary examinations and diagnostic acumen in at least one instance.
- Possible issues with appointment availability in emergency situations.
- Allegations of negative experiences shared by other local pet owners (though these are second-hand accounts).
- The building is described as "old," which may be a factor in the overall perception of the facility.
- Positive feedback was limited to the vet techs in one review, suggesting a potential discrepancy in the perceived quality of care or customer service among different staff members.
There is no promotional information available in the provided text. Given the overwhelmingly negative sentiment expressed in the detailed review regarding a serious health concern and the handling of the aftermath, any potential positive features or services are overshadowed by these critical accounts. Local users considering Baker House Animal Hospital should carefully weigh the information presented in these reviews and potentially seek additional feedback or consider other veterinary options in the area.
In conclusion, the publicly available customer reviews for Baker House Animal Hospital in Morrow, OH, paint a concerning picture. While the facility operates as a Pet Hospital offering a range of veterinary services, the feedback highlights significant issues related to perceived lack of empathy, potential diagnostic oversights with serious consequences, and difficulties in accessing timely emergency care. The environment is described as an older building. Given the gravity of the negative experiences shared, local users are strongly advised to consider these accounts carefully when making decisions about their pet's veterinary care and may wish to seek further information or explore alternative providers in the area.

Nov 04, 2024 · Cheyenne GinterI will NEVER recommend Baker House to anyone!! The office manager lacks empathy and our dogs’ vet did not do what was right at all. We found a mass at the base of our dog’s tail and brought him in for a check (about a month after his annual checkup, where no mass was felt). The vet felt the mass and said she did not feel there was anything to be concerned about. She told my wife “Well, I can do a biopsy if you really want to.” My wife replied with “You’re the dr, if you think it’s nothing to worry about, you know best.” 1-2 weeks later the mass ruptured. Baker House could not get our dog in immediately so we took him somewhere else, where emergency surgery was performed to remove anything left of the mass and clean up the tissue around it. Necrotic tissue was found and the tissue was biopsied. Pathology reported that the mass was a cancerous tumor! I called the office and spoke to the office manager, who displayed a complete lack of empathy. Not once did he ask how our dog was. I had asked for a refund of the cost of the annual wellness plans for both of our dogs since they were in just about a month before this occurred. The office manager refused a refund, and just apologized for our displeasure in the services provided. My personal recommendation… do not take your animals here!! After talking to other neighbors, there are quite a few folks who have had bad experiences here as well! Go somewhere else. The vet techs have been great, but after the lack of empathy and the vet’s lack of investigation into the tumor, we will NEVER be back!
Oct 24, 2024 · Brad NiehausWillie's first vet visit was very nice! Staff was very friendly and helpful. The Doctor was knowledgeable and kind! Office was easy to find and you can park right in front of the entrance. The best part is that Willie was never traumatized or nervous. I love the Baker House Animal Hospital!
Aug 29, 2022 · Diane VasiliadisDr. Craig is very knowledgable and really cares about my animals. I really appreciate the transparency when it comes to billing, they will send an estimate for any procedure a week in advance so you can decide if you want to continue with the procedure. I also appriciate when I call because my dog has another UTI that they don't require an appointment and just call in medicine for her. Great vet for your pets!
Aug 29, 2024 · Ashley BrownBeautiful people who truly love and respect animals. The veterinarian's performed emergency surgery on a Sunday evening after my puppy swallowed over a dozen staples. I have never met this kind of kindness in doctor's. Coming in on a day when the place was closed. That's love for your pet and for it's anxious owner. Thank you so very much ❤ Debi Carpenter and little Elvis
