Everyone is very friendly and quick to help. Unfortunately we had to bring our cat in due to her not eating or drinking and throwing up. We brought her in twice with no positive results. We finally ended up at UW where they found a linear foreign body (string) which involved 75% of her intestines. We could have lost our baby because the vet here did not think that the clumping of our cats intestines was weird. We had the X-rays from badger sent there and their vets immediately knew what was wrong and she was taken to emergency surgery. I am thankful for the nice staff but we could have lost our fur child. Not overly impressed with emergency care but will bring her back for check ups when needed due to location.

Welcome to Badger Veterinary Hospital: Cross Katie DVM

For pet owners in Janesville, Wisconsin, and the surrounding areas, Badger Veterinary Hospital, located at 3113 E McCormick Dr, Janesville, WI 53546, USA, under the direction of Dr. Cross Katie DVM, serves as a local "Pet Hospital" providing veterinary care services. To offer a detailed introduction, it's essential to consider the experiences shared by real customers, which provide insights into the environment, services, and features of this animal care facility. The available reviews present a mixed perspective, highlighting both positive and negative aspects of their care.

The environment at Badger Veterinary Hospital is described by one reviewer as having a "very friendly" staff who are "quick to help." This suggests a welcoming and efficient initial interaction for pet owners seeking assistance. However, the same review also implies potential shortcomings in emergency diagnostic capabilities, as the reviewer's cat, after two visits for symptoms of not eating, drinking, and vomiting, was ultimately diagnosed with a linear foreign body requiring emergency surgery at the University of Wisconsin (UW) Veterinary Care. The reviewer expressed concern that the clumping of their cat's intestines was not recognized as abnormal at Badger Veterinary Hospital, emphasizing a potentially critical oversight in their diagnostic process for emergency cases. While acknowledging the friendly staff, this experience raises questions about the thoroughness of emergency assessments.

Despite the negative experience with the emergency diagnosis, the same reviewer indicated a willingness to return for routine check-ups due to the hospital's location. This suggests that the convenience and perhaps the perceived quality of general wellness care might still be a draw for some local pet owners. However, the potential for misdiagnosis in critical situations remains a significant point of consideration.

In contrast to the concerns raised about emergency care, two other reviews highlight the compassionate and accommodating nature of the staff during a particularly difficult time: the unexpected need for euthanasia of a 14-year-old dog while the owners were visiting family over the holidays. These reviewers, who were not local residents or established clients, were turned away by other veterinary practices in the area but were welcomed by Badger Veterinary Hospital. The staff's understanding and accommodation in a stressful situation far from home were deeply appreciated. The veterinarian is specifically mentioned for making the emotional experience "as comfortable as possible" on the day after Thanksgiving, indicating a sensitive and empathetic approach during end-of-life care.

A particularly touching feature of Badger Veterinary Hospital, as highlighted in one of these reviews, was the personal touch extended to the grieving family. A few days after returning home, they received a handwritten note along with paw prints of their beloved dog, Rosie. This thoughtful gesture meant a great deal to the family, especially their 9-year-old daughter, demonstrating a level of care that goes beyond standard veterinary practice and shows genuine empathy for their clients' emotional needs during loss. This act of kindness suggests a compassionate and caring culture within the hospital.

The services offered at Badger Veterinary Hospital, based on these reviews, appear to include routine wellness examinations (implied by the willingness of one reviewer to return for check-ups), emergency care (though with a noted critical diagnostic failure in one instance), and end-of-life care, including euthanasia with a focus on comfort and compassion. The availability of X-ray services is also evident, as the images taken at Badger Veterinary Hospital were sent to UW for further evaluation. It is reasonable to infer that the hospital also provides other standard veterinary services such as vaccinations, parasite prevention, and treatment for common illnesses and injuries. However, the specific scope of their surgical capabilities, laboratory services, or specialized treatments is not detailed in the provided reviews.

Features of Badger Veterinary Hospital seem to include a friendly and helpful staff, a willingness to accommodate non-local clients in emergency situations (at least for end-of-life care), and a compassionate approach to both pets and their owners, particularly during emotionally challenging times. The handwritten note and paw prints serve as a unique and memorable feature that demonstrates a high level of empathy and client care. However, the potential limitation in accurately diagnosing complex emergency conditions, as highlighted in one review, is a significant factor that prospective clients should consider.

No specific promotional information is mentioned in the provided reviews. It is common for veterinary hospitals to offer introductory discounts for new clients, seasonal specials on certain services (like dental cleanings), or wellness packages. To learn about any current promotions or special offers at Badger Veterinary Hospital: Cross Katie DVM, local residents in Janesville, WI, are encouraged to contact the hospital directly at (608) 754-1888 or +1 608-754-1888.

In conclusion, Badger Veterinary Hospital: Cross Katie DVM in Janesville, WI, presents a mixed picture based on the available customer reviews. The staff is generally perceived as friendly and helpful, and the hospital demonstrates compassion and accommodation, especially in difficult circumstances like pet euthanasia for non-local clients. The thoughtful gesture of sending a handwritten note and paw prints is a notable feature indicating a caring approach to client bereavement. However, a significant concern is raised regarding the accuracy of emergency diagnoses, with one critical case being missed, potentially endangering the pet's life. While the location might be convenient for routine care, pet owners seeking emergency services may want to weigh this experience against the positive aspects of the hospital's general demeanor and compassionate care. It is advisable for local pet owners to consider these varying experiences when choosing a veterinary hospital for their beloved animals and perhaps seek further information on their emergency protocols and diagnostic capabilities.

While visiting family over the holidays our 14 year old dog had to be unexpectedly put down. The staff at Badger Veterinary Hospital were understanding of our situation and accommodating after we were turned away by other vets in the area as we didn't live in Janesville and were not clients already. The veterinarian at Badger Veterinary Hospital made an emotional experience as comfortable as possible while we were 6 hours from home on the day after Thanksgiving. We were pleasantly surprised to receive a handwritten note along with paw prints to remember Rosie with in the mail a few days after returning home. That meant a lot to our family, especially our 9 year old daughter.

Dr Servantes is the absolute best! If you are looking for a vet that truly, truly cares about your animal, this is the one. I work for a local pet store, and he cares about every single animal I bring in there as if it were my personal animal or his. If he can squeeze you in, even in a booker schedule, if it's at all possible, he will do it. He is just the most caring and amazing vet! The staff there is also so incredibly kind! I have never had a bad experience with this place in the 3 years I've been dealing with them. HIGHLY recommend!馃挄

I couldn't ask for a better vet for my fur babies! Dr. Krier was there when we had to help my 12 yr old malamute go to heaven. He helped us treat him, always respected my choices in treatment, and always remained honest with me. They also always make sure we are seen when needed. We now take our husky pup there as well! I love the badger family!
