Based on the available online reviews, experiences with Auburn Veterinary Hospital Inc appear to be contrasting. One customer expressed a very positive initial impression, stating they "normally despise going to new vets but this one has been amazing." They specifically praised the receptionists, describing them as "wonderful" and highly recommending the hospital.
However, another customer shared a deeply concerning and negative experience regarding the care of their hyperthyroid cat with a history of pancreatitis. This long and detailed review outlines a situation where the owner felt their cat received the "bare minimum of care" despite years of patronage. When the cat presented with emergency symptoms (vomiting, lethargy, rapid weight loss), the reviewing owner reported that the doctor only performed a thyroid blood test and administered a Solensia injection, without conducting a full bloodwork panel or thoroughly investigating other potential issues. The owner felt their concerns about the correlation between good thyroid levels and the worsening symptoms were not adequately addressed.
Five days later, when the cat's condition further declined, the owner called the clinic and was informed it was "moving day" for their newly remodeled clinic's grand opening. An appointment was offered for the following week. Expressing the urgency, the owner was then referred to an emergency clinic. At the emergency clinic, the cat was immediately placed in oxygen and diagnosed with severe dehydration, extreme underweight, and a distended abdomen, with the emergency doctor describing the breathing as "end of life." Further investigation revealed late-stage cancer with fluid in the lungs and abdomen, and a palpable mass that the emergency doctor was surprised had not been noticed previously. The emergency doctor also noted severe dehydration, which was reportedly not mentioned by the Auburn Veterinary Hospital. The reviewing owner expressed profound disappointment and sadness, feeling that a lack of thorough examination, failure to listen to their concerns, and the delay in diagnosis at Auburn Veterinary Hospital prolonged their pet's suffering and ultimately led to a situation where euthanasia was the only option. They felt the clinic had failed in multiple ways, including not listening, not thoroughly examining their pet over several visits, and failing to make proper diagnoses and recommendations.
Given these starkly different accounts, it is difficult to objectively describe the environment, services, and features of Auburn Veterinary Hospital Inc. Typically, a Pet Hospital provides examination rooms, diagnostic equipment, and areas for treatment and potentially surgery. The environment is usually intended to be clean and professional.
The services generally offered by a Pet Hospital include routine check-ups, vaccinations, parasite control, diagnostics (blood work, imaging), medical treatments, and surgical procedures. The positive review suggests a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, particularly with the reception staff. The negative review, however, raises serious questions about the thoroughness of examinations, diagnostic protocols, and communication with pet owners, especially in complex or emergency situations.
Features of Auburn Veterinary Hospital Inc that can be inferred include friendly receptionists (based on one review) and the fact that they were in the process of a clinic remodel and grand opening at the time of the negative review. However, the negative review also highlights a significant concern regarding the level of care and diagnostic diligence provided in at least one instance.
There is no information available regarding any specific promotional offers at this time. To inquire about potential promotions or the full range of services, it would be best to contact the clinic directly.
For local users in Auburn, WA, Auburn Veterinary Hospital Inc presents a complex picture based on the limited online feedback. While one customer had a very positive experience with the staff, another detailed a deeply troubling experience with the veterinary care provided to their seriously ill cat. Potential clients may want to carefully consider these contrasting perspectives when making decisions about their pet's care and perhaps seek further information or clarification from the clinic directly.
To gain a more comprehensive understanding of Auburn Veterinary Hospital Inc's current practices, services, and approach to patient care, we recommend contacting them directly using the provided phone numbers. This will allow you to ask specific questions and make an informed decision based on your pet's individual needs.
In summary, Auburn Veterinary Hospital Inc in Auburn, WA, has received positive feedback regarding its reception staff, but also a very serious negative review concerning the diagnostic care and communication provided in a critical situation. Local pet owners should be aware of these differing experiences when considering this clinic for their veterinary needs.

Mar 13, 2025 · Traci ReedIt’s a veterinarians job to care for their patients. To recommend and run the proper tests. Listen to their client when they explain what symptoms are occurring and come up with a treatment plan moving forward. I have been taking my cats here for years and I believed they were receiving proper care the whole time. It has recently come to my attention that one of my cats that is hyperthyroid and has a history of pancreatitis has had the bare minimum of care. I brought my cat in last week for an emergency appointment since he had been vomiting, lethargic and has been rapidly losing weight. Doctor opted to do a thyroid blood test, ultimately changing the dosage of his thyroid medication and giving him a solensia injection. He did not do a full bloodwork panel. In fact there was no conversation about there being a potentially different issue going on with my cat. His conversation with me that the thyroid levels are within range and to just let him know if my cat keeps vomiting. He did not run additional tests, he did not question how the good test results would correlate to weight loss, vomiting and lethargy. I called back into the clinic 5 days later, explaining that my cat was declining even further. They informed me that it was “moving day” for their upcoming Grand Opening of their newly remodeled clinic. They offered me an appointment the following week. I then informed them, that I felt he needed to be seen asap. They referred me to an emergency clinic. I rushed my cat to the emergency clinic with what I perceived to be labored breathing. He was immediately placed in an oxygen chamber. In the Doctors words it was “end of life” breathing. His diagnosis was that my cat was severely dehydrated, extremely underweight, and his abdomen was clearly distended. When I told him my cat had been examined 5 days prior, he was very surprised. For two days, bloodwork, radiographs and fluids were the treatment plan, as well as plural effusion(pulling some of the fluid out of his abdomen) I had to wait through the holiday weekend to get my cat an ultrasound. The ultrasound results revealed that my cat has late stage cancer, and has fluid in his lungs and abdomen. The doctor located a mass within moments of touching my cat and couldn’t believe no other Doctor had mentioned it before. They stated that he was severely dehydrated. Another thing our doctor at this clinic did not mention. It makes me sick to know that I put my pets care in the hands of a vet that didn’t communicate other possible reasons for his symptoms. Didn’t offer me additional treatment or tests. In fact it appears he did not do a thorough examination of my pet when I brought him in just days before he passed away. This clinic has failed in so many ways. Failed to listen to my concerns, failed to thoroughly examine my cat over the several visits in in the last few months, failed to make proper diagnosis and recommendations. In conclusion, due to the delay in diagnosis my pets suffering was prolonged. Given the diagnosis, our only option was to have our pet put to rest. Had my pet been diagnosed in the early stages of his disease, when the decline was first noted (weight loss, frequent colds, vomiting) we could have explored all available options and made an informed decision.

Mar 16, 2025 · Fernando RubioWe want to thank Dr Schneider, Dr Jow and Dr Cullen, along with the entire staff for the excellent care you consistently provided us for our standard poodle, Elli for the past 14 1/2 years, not to mention Frosty, our Dalmatian, who you also gave excellent care to for the previous 13 years. I would not want to ever use another Clinic to care for our animals. You are all amazingly compassionate, excellent doctors and always expedited our needs whenever possible. Elli even enjoyed your fun staff and was never difficult to take her to appointments, she was ready to visit her friends. Thank you all, it meant the world to us. Sincerely, Ann Thompson
