I brought my cat in today to get fixed , when I arrived to pick her up they had her sitting at the door still under anesthesia in her crater with her paperwork sitting on top of her. I kept calling out for someone to speak to and nobody came. This is literally some sort of garage & I’m filled with so much guilt for even taking her here. She didn’t come back to until almost 3 hours after the fact we left and once she did she was choking on her throw up , it’s been almost 5 hours sense we been home she cannot walk , they didn’t give me any kind of formal instructions. I keep trying to call no answer. She wasn’t given any sort of pain medication . I’m posting a picture to show how she’s been for the last 3 hours so I apologize in advance for this image . I’m beyond scared and cannot afford the vet . Exactly why I brought her here my friend brought all her cats here & didn’t explain to me what kind of chop shop this is

Welcome to Attica Veterinary Associates

Welcome to Attica Veterinary Associates, a Pet Hospital located at 116 Prospect St, Attica, NY 14011, USA. Serving the Attica community and surrounding areas, Attica Veterinary Associates offers a range of veterinary services, with a notable focus on their spay/neuter program. As a local Pet Hospital, they aim to provide accessible veterinary care to pet owners in the region. However, the limited information available, consisting of contrasting customer reviews, suggests a need for a balanced and objective understanding of the clinic's environment, services, and overall approach.

Based on the customer reviews, the environment of Attica Veterinary Associates appears to be a point of contention. One reviewer describes the facility as "literally some sort of garage," which raises concerns about the professionalism and suitability of the clinical setting. This description contrasts with the expectations one might have of a standard Pet Hospital, which typically includes designated examination rooms, surgical suites, and recovery areas designed for the safety and comfort of animal patients. The absence of a waiting room, as mentioned by another reviewer ("be aware there's no waiting room"), further suggests a potentially unconventional setup. Prospective clients may want to consider this information when choosing a veterinary care provider and perhaps inquire directly about the clinic's facilities.

The core service explicitly mentioned in the reviews is a spay/neuter program, particularly for cats. One reviewer who utilized this program described it as "wonderful." This suggests that Attica Veterinary Associates actively engages in providing these essential surgical procedures, which are crucial for pet population control and can offer various health benefits for animals. The positive feedback regarding the program itself indicates that the surgical aspect may be performed competently. However, the overall experience seems to vary significantly among clients.

In contrast to the positive feedback on the spay/neuter program, another reviewer recounted a deeply concerning experience following their cat's spay surgery. This individual reported finding their cat still under anesthesia and unattended at the door upon pickup. The lack of immediate staff response when the owner called out, the prolonged recovery time at home, the cat choking on vomit, the inability to walk hours after the procedure, the absence of formal post-operative instructions, the lack of pain medication, and the difficulty in contacting the clinic afterward paint a troubling picture of the post-surgical care and communication provided in at least one instance. This review raises serious concerns about patient monitoring, discharge procedures, and follow-up care.

Features of Attica Veterinary Associates, based on the limited information, include the availability of a spay/neuter program that some clients have found to be wonderful. The fact that a friend of one negative reviewer brought all her cats to this clinic suggests that the clinic may have a history of providing these services to the local community, possibly at an affordable price point, as alluded to by the concerned reviewer ("Exactly why I brought her here my friend brought all her cats here & didn’t explain to me what kind of chop shop this is"). The absence of a waiting room is a notable logistical feature that potential clients should be aware of.

The contrasting experiences highlight a significant divergence in customer satisfaction. While one client felt prepared for taking home a sleepy cat and received written instructions, another reported a complete lack of formal instructions and difficulty contacting the clinic post-surgery. This inconsistency in care and communication is a critical point for prospective clients to consider. The description of the facility as a "garage" by one reviewer, if accurate, could also be considered a feature of the environment, though not a positive one in terms of professional veterinary settings.

Promotional information is not explicitly provided in the given text. Spay/neuter programs are often offered at lower costs to encourage pet owners to have these procedures done, so affordability might be an implicit aspect of this service at Attica Veterinary Associates. However, the negative reviewer's comment about not being able to afford another vet suggests that while the initial cost might have been a factor in their decision, the subsequent lack of care and potential complications could lead to further, unforeseen expenses. To inquire about specific pricing for their spay/neuter program or any other services, it is recommended to contact Attica Veterinary Associates directly at (585) 591-2660 or +1 585-591-2660.

In conclusion, Attica Veterinary Associates in Attica, NY, is a Pet Hospital that offers a spay/neuter program, which at least one client found to be wonderful. However, another client reported a severely negative experience involving inadequate post-operative care, poor communication, and a concerning facility description. The absence of a waiting room is another logistical aspect to note. Prospective clients should carefully consider these contrasting experiences and perhaps seek additional information or clarification from the clinic regarding their facilities, procedures, and post-operative care protocols before entrusting their pets to Attica Veterinary Associates.

Wonderful spay/neuter program! Yes you take home a sleepy kitty and have to wait there (just be aware there's no waiting room) but they prepare you for this and tell you what to expect and give written instructions of what to expect when you take your cat home.

Extremely helpful and just as loving of animals as my wife and I are. And I don't know why but, they didn't charge us for taking care of my furry son. God bless this veteran!!!

I set up a neuter for my dog in last August. My wife and her mother had to take him because I was out of town for work and were never sent home with paperwork, a cone, no regular things that a dog is usually sent home with. I called today to get paperwork and I was rudely told that they are a large animal vet only… how can this be if my dog had his nuts chopped a few months ago at this location. Thoroughly disappointed, I would give zero stars if I could.
