I cannot say enough good things about Argo Animal Clinic! The staff are so friendly, knowledgeable, compassionate, and understanding regarding our fur babies. Our blue heeler Deuce used to require sedation going to the vets office until we relocated here and found Argo Animal Clinic. They are great with him and he has no issue walking to the back with them without sedation. I recently had my pills, Stella (Yorkie-poo) spayed here, they provided education prior to her surgery as well as a follow up call to update me on her status and provided more education regarding her post op care. They never make us feel rushed or unwanted. But most importantly, starting with the front desk, to the techs and ending with the Dr’s, they ALL seem to absolutely love what they do making it easier to leave our pets there and follow any recommendations they may have regarding their care. All 4 of our pets are seen here. Highly suggest this wonderful place. STAFF @ ARGO ANIMAL CARE - WE APPRECIATE YOU! Thank you for loving our fur babies like we do.

Argo Animal Clinic Introduce
Welcome to the local introduction of Argo Animal Clinic, a Pet Hospital located at 8916 Gadsden Hwy in Trussville, AL 35173, USA. Serving the Trussville community and surrounding areas, Argo Animal Clinic aims to provide comprehensive veterinary care for your beloved animal companions. As a Pet Hospital, they are positioned to offer a range of services, from routine check-ups to more specialized treatments, and potentially provide related goods to support your pet's health and well-being.
While specific details about the clinic's environment are not extensively available online, customer reviews offer some insights. One reviewer highlights a friendly, knowledgeable, compassionate, and understanding staff, suggesting a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for pet owners. The positive experience of a pet who previously required sedation for vet visits now being comfortable at Argo Animal Clinic indicates a gentle and patient approach within the clinic environment. This suggests an environment where staff prioritize the comfort and well-being of the animals.
However, another review presents a contrasting perspective, describing a negative interaction with the veterinarian and raising concerns about potentially unnecessary prescriptions. This suggests that while some aspects of the environment, particularly the staff, may be perceived positively, individual experiences with the veterinary professionals can vary.
Based on the available information, the services offered at Argo Animal Clinic likely encompass a range of essential veterinary care for pets, which typically includes:
- General Wellness Examinations: Routine check-ups are crucial for maintaining your pet's health, allowing for early detection of potential issues and the establishment of a baseline health record.
- Vaccinations: Protecting your pet against common and potentially serious diseases is a cornerstone of preventative care. Argo Animal Clinic likely offers a range of core and non-core vaccinations tailored to your pet's species, age, and lifestyle.
- Parasite Prevention: Prevention of fleas, ticks, heartworms, and other internal and external parasites is essential for your pet's comfort and health. The clinic likely offers or recommends various preventative medications and treatments.
- Spay and Neuter Services: These routine surgical procedures not only prevent unwanted litters but also offer various health benefits for your pet. One positive review mentions a Yorkie-poo being spayed at the clinic, with thorough pre- and post-operative education provided.
- Dental Care: Maintaining good oral hygiene is vital for your pet's overall health. Services may include dental examinations, cleanings, and treatment of dental diseases.
- Diagnostic Services: When your pet is unwell, accurate diagnosis is crucial. Argo Animal Clinic likely offers diagnostic tools such as laboratory testing (bloodwork, urinalysis, fecal exams) and imaging (like X-rays) to help identify the cause of illness.
- Treatment of Illnesses and Injuries: The clinic would provide medical treatment for various illnesses and minor injuries affecting pets.
- Prescription Medications: Veterinarians at the clinic can prescribe medications necessary to treat various health conditions. However, one negative review raises concerns about the necessity of some prescribed medications.
- Client Education: Providing pet owners with information and guidance on their pet's health, care, and treatment options is an important aspect of veterinary practice, as highlighted by the positive review mentioning pre- and post-operative education.
One of the key features highlighted in the positive customer review is the exceptional quality of the staff, described as friendly, knowledgeable, compassionate, and understanding. Their gentle approach with a previously anxious dog is particularly noteworthy. The emphasis on providing education to pet owners also stands out as a positive feature. The fact that one reviewer trusts Argo Animal Clinic with all four of their pets speaks volumes about their positive overall experience.
However, it is crucial to acknowledge the concerns raised in the negative review. This review details allegations of potentially unnecessary medication prescriptions, a perceived rude and hyperactive veterinarian, and dissatisfaction with the handling of a suspected parasite diagnosis and subsequent reimbursement request. This feedback suggests that while some pet owners have very positive experiences, others may encounter issues with the veterinary care and communication.
Currently, there is no specific promotional information available online for Argo Animal Clinic. Pet hospitals may occasionally offer introductory discounts for new clients or seasonal promotions for specific services. To inquire about any current promotions or to discuss the cost of specific services, it is recommended to contact Argo Animal Clinic directly using the provided phone numbers: (205) 655-5350 or mobile +1 205-655-5350.
In conclusion, Argo Animal Clinic in Trussville, Alabama, operates as a Pet Hospital serving the local community. Customer reviews present a mixed picture, with strong praise for the friendly and compassionate staff and their gentle approach to animal care. The provision of thorough client education is also noted as a positive aspect. However, a significant concern is raised in another review regarding the veterinarian's demeanor and the appropriateness of prescribed medications. As with any healthcare provider, individual experiences can vary. Local pet owners considering Argo Animal Clinic should weigh the positive feedback regarding the staff against the concerns raised in the negative review. Contacting the clinic directly to discuss your pet's specific needs and to inquire about their practices and policies may help you make an informed decision about their suitability as your pet's healthcare provider.

Dec 31, 2024 · Shannon Smiththis place is a joke!! staff nice & friendly (butter you up) then after the butter up prescribed medicines not needed!! Vet is rude & obnoxious thank God for friendly staff as 1st line of contact! Took my 15wk rottie pup our tech was amazing! vet walks in talking fast & very hyper! He walks in & says does she like vets, Rottweilers usually don't like vets (if you feel that way slow down take your time & get to know her she's only 3mos old)! He says seen any fleas as he's running flea comb thru her, oh what movie did you pick that name from, oh at least her tail was cut right most of them aren't, well nxt visit schedule for her to be spayed. our amazing tech looks at him & says oh no she's full AKC & (something else nice & factual but I missed it at this point bcuz I was in shock as to what is happening)! I say oh no I plan to breed he says oh ok well breed only once & then we'll spay! huh?! & that was it end of his not so amazing consult - so he's heading out the door & I'm saying wait I had ?s he stands in-between the doorway doesn't come back into room I had to quickly ask my questions so he could quickly leave! Nxt day get a call that says my pup has parasites a very low low percentage come & pick up 3 different meds I didn't trust it but we bought them anyways but chose not to give, 3wks later get a 2nd opinion no parasites!! call vet request monies back told oh her percentage was so extremely low the nexguard+ would have pushed it out & that was 3wks ago & sorry can't reimburse your money keep the meds you'll definitely need it one day in her lifetime (umm don't meds have expiration dates?)! These people should truly be ashamed of themselves for prescribing medicines not needed! if you knew the nexguard+ would do it's thing prescriptions should have never been administered especially for such a low low dosage (their words)! & jesus what side effects would meds not needed have done to my baby!!!! & the parasites they "claim" she had there were never any traces of diarrhea, low energy, thirsty + she had zero of these symptoms the entire time & prior! shame on you!! thank God we found Caldwell they are amazing!! Niya & I will never go back to Argo & I pray they pull it together shame on you guys!!
Jan 06, 2025 · TaraMy mom called about the status of her beloved dogs biopsy for a suspicious cancerous tumor and the receptionist was very rude to her. It was her first and only time calling regarding these results. If you are a receptionist and answer phones, it’s quite literally your job to be nice and courteous. If you can’t do that then you shouldn’t work in that position.
Apr 03, 2025 · Ashley MayesWe are so blessed to live so close to Argo Animal. They are the best! Always gets us in as quick as possible and I love Dr Gleason. So thorough and they are all the sweetest! We have been going there for way over 10 years now. Best care for our Baby!
Sep 04, 2024 · Sherri GerkDr. Gleason is really great about answering questions and addressing my concerns. He seems to be very knowledgeable regarding my pet’s conditions. He is also very personable and is good with my dog. Their fees are comparable, if not a little lower, to most other vets in the area. The only downside is there is always a long wait (over an hour) to be seen, even though I have a set appointment time, and the lobby is full with people and other pets which makes my pet very anxious. Regardless of that, I would still recommend using the clinic.
