First and foremost I normally don’t write reviews. But this review was a must because I want people to have the opportunity to read an amazing experience I had getting my dream baby Faraji. At first I was nervous. I wasn’t sure who to contact about this dream I envisioned for this amazing animal I’ve wanted 10 years plus. I heard about Antebellum exotics via social media and reached out to the owner (Krissy) on Facebook. Her response was quick, she was more than informative, respectful and knowledgeable about everything we asked. When the time came to breed I was in loop 24/7. There was never a moment I had to question anything. I received phone calls, loads of texts, pictures and videos from start to finish. (Even pregnancy photos & vet pics) Krissy became more than a breeder she’s now my family. Every question I had it was answered; anything I didn’t understand it was throughly explained no matter the time. She has taught me so much and made it comfortable for me in a way you can understand it without feeling overwhelming or doubtful. This woman is so passionate about what she does and it was truly amazing to be able to witness. Krissy I love you so much! You are amazing in every way! You knew how bad I wanted this and you made sure this entire experience was perfect for me. You never left me one time through this whole thing. You have made my dream. I cannot say thank you enough. My baby is beyond a blessing. We love her beyond the moon. If anybody out there is skeptical about owning a serval please contact Antebellum Exotics for any questions or concerns. I can guarantee you any fear or doubt will be overcame. This is the best breeder in my experience you can ever ask for. I could write a book, but you get the gist haha. Love this Davis Family 😘💖🐆🐾

Welcome to Antebellum Exotics
Antebellum Exotics, located at 2841 Walker Rd, Georgetown, SC 29440, USA, operates within the broader "Pet Hospital" category, though its primary function, as evidenced by client testimonials, is highly specialized: the responsible breeding and comprehensive support for owners of African Serval cats. While not a traditional veterinary clinic offering medical treatments, Antebellum Exotics fulfills a vital role in the exotic pet community by providing healthy, well-socialized animals and offering extensive, ongoing guidance crucial for the unique care requirements of these exotic felines. Their services extend far beyond simple transactions, focusing on creating successful and sustainable relationships between servals and their new families.
Based on the detailed accounts of clients, the environment at Antebellum Exotics, particularly as managed by owner Krissy, is one of exceptional warmth, knowledge, and dedication. While it's not a clinical veterinary setting, the emphasis is clearly on creating a nurturing and professional space for the serval kittens and their prospective owners. Clients visiting the facility describe spending "hours looking over the kittens and discussing their care," indicating a comfortable and unhurried atmosphere designed for thorough engagement and education. The ability to meet several adult servals, described as "absolutely beautiful," suggests a clean, well-maintained environment where the animals thrive.
The atmosphere is further characterized by Krissy's welcoming and informative demeanor. Clients consistently praise her for making them feel "so welcomed and not rushed at all." This approach helps alleviate any initial nervousness or skepticism about owning an exotic animal, fostering a sense of trust and confidence. The ongoing communication, including "phone calls, loads of texts, pictures and videos from start to finish," reinforces an atmosphere of transparency and continuous support, which is paramount when acquiring a specialized pet like a serval.
Antebellum Exotics does not offer typical veterinary medical services such as surgeries or diagnostics for illnesses. Instead, their "services" are deeply rooted in the responsible breeding, early development, and sustained support for their serval kittens. These unique offerings include:
- Responsible Breeding Practices: Clients highlight the evident health and temperament of the servals, suggesting careful breeding programs focused on genetic soundness and desirable traits.
- Extensive Early Socialization: This is a critical service distinguishing Antebellum Exotics. Kittens are introduced to human interaction from a young age, evidenced by their familiarity with harnesses and leashes, and their comfort around people. This early socialization is vital for integrating servals into a domestic environment successfully.
- Pre-Adoption Preparation: Krissy ensures kittens are well-prepared for their new homes. This includes litter box training and nail trimming, simplifying the transition for new owners.
- Comprehensive Education and Guidance: Before and after adoption, Krissy provides extensive information on serval care. This includes dietary recommendations (e.g., links to items for milk and meals), suggestions for general care, and advice on "serval tough" products. This ongoing educational support is invaluable for new exotic pet owners who may be unfamiliar with the specific needs of a serval.
- Continuous Communication and Support: This is perhaps the most lauded service. Krissy maintains "constant communication" with clients, sending updates on kitten weights, new explorations, and eating habits. Even after adoption, she remains readily available, answering questions "no matter the time" and loving "getting updates" on the adopted servals. This lifetime support network is crucial for the well-being of both the animal and the owner.
- Referral to Specialized Vets: While Antebellum Exotics is not a vet clinic, they are knowledgeable about the veterinary needs of servals and are able to refer clients to local vets specializing in exotic animals, as noted by a client who was initially referred to Krissy by such a vet. This network of referrals underscores their commitment to the overall health of the animals they place.
The "goods for sale" in this context are primarily the serval kittens themselves, but the value is significantly enhanced by the extensive preparatory work and ongoing support that accompanies each adoption.
Several features make Antebellum Exotics stand out in the specialized field of exotic pet breeding:
- Unparalleled Dedication of Krissy: Krissy is consistently described as "amazing," "passionate," "informative," "respectful," and "knowledgeable." Her personal investment in the well-being of her servals and the success of their adoptions transforms a typical breeder-client relationship into a "family" connection. This level of personal commitment is rare and highly valued by clients.
- Exceptional Communication: The constant flow of information, including photos and videos from pregnancy to pick-up, ensures clients are fully engaged and reassured throughout the process. This transparency builds immense trust.
- Proactive Socialization and Training: The fact that kittens are already familiar with harnesses and litter box trained demonstrates a proactive approach to preparing them for domestic life, significantly easing the transition for new owners.
- Lifetime Support: The ongoing availability of Krissy for questions, advice, and updates post-adoption is a testament to her commitment to the animals and their new families. This level of support is crucial for exotic pet ownership where unique challenges may arise.
- Flexibility and Understanding: Krissy's willingness to hold kittens for a few extra weeks to allow clients to prepare their homes demonstrates a high degree of flexibility and understanding of the logistical challenges involved in adopting a serval.
The client experience is described as "perfect," "amazing," and overcoming "any fear or doubt." This profound positive impact on clients underscores the truly exceptional nature of Antebellum Exotics' operations.
The most powerful promotional tool for Antebellum Exotics is undoubtedly the **overwhelmingly positive word-of-mouth** from highly satisfied clients. The detailed, heartfelt reviews serve as strong testimonials, encouraging others who are "skeptical about owning a serval" to contact them. The direct recommendation from a "local vet that specializes in exotics" further validates their reputation and expertise within the professional community.
Krissy's active presence on social media, particularly Facebook, as mentioned by clients, is another key promotional channel. She uses platforms like Facebook to communicate with prospective owners and provide updates to current ones. The mention of "Serval Siblings Cage & Raven" having their own Facebook page, followed and commented on daily by Krissy, illustrates her continued engagement and serves as organic, authentic promotion for the quality of her servals.

Apr 06, 2025 · momma bearWould like to start by saying I researched African Serval breeders for many years before we were lucky enough to have Krissy and Antebellum Exotics suggested to us by a local vet that specializes in exotics. Once I contacted Krissy, she quickly responded to all our questions about the servals, discussed what kittens were available for adoption, and general questions about the breed itself. There was a female and a male available. We were fortunate to only live 1 1/2 hours away from this breeder. Krissy quickly set up an appointment for us to look at the kittens and discuss if we would be interested in adoption. The appointment went wonderful. We spent hours looking over the kittens and discussing their care of them. We got to meet several of her adult Servals who were absolutely beautiful. She made us feel so welcomed and not rushed at all while deciding. Immediately upon meeting her kittens, you will notice this is no ordinary breeder. Both kittens were already familar with harnesses and were on leashes. Prior to us meeting them, they had their nails freshly trimmed. You could notice that these Servals were very familar with people and have been socialized. This is so important when looking for a serval. Both kittens were already litter boxed trained and just had their own wonderful personalities. It was a hard decision on which kitten to choose. We decided to make the decision very easy. We adopted both kittens. They are brother and sister. Their names are Cage & Raven. After placing a deposit on our beautiful kittens, we had a bit of an issue. We needed to get our home ready for our new babies and also get everything they needed to have an amazing life with us. Also, within 2 weeks, we were moving our son home from college for the summer. She had no problem keeping Cage & Raven for those couple weeks for us to get everything ready. During this time, she was in constant communication with us. Sending us links to items we need for their milk and meals. What she suggests for the care of them and general products that she knows are serval tough. While we waited for our pick-up date, Krissy constantly kept us up to date with pictures, weights, new things they explored, and ate. This was truly wonderful. Any questions we had, we texted or messaged her, and she quickly responded. Finally, our day to get our new babies arrived and couldn't have gone better. Since then, Krissy has been available to us at any time. We talk every week, and she loves getting updates on Cage & Raven. Krissy is no longer just our breeder. She is a family friend. She was one of the first people to follow their Facebook page, Serval Siblings Cage & Raven, and comments every day about their adventures. There are 2 things that are very important when owning a serval. It is a very good vet and an amazing breeder. We are so fortunate to have both. When looking for a breeder who is their for you and your new kitten for the long haul, I can not recommend Krissy and Antebellum Exotics enough. There are many breeders in the country. Few will spend the time and knowledge with you like Krissy. I know this because I spoke to over a dozen before deciding on Antebellum Exotics. If you would like to see the wonderful kittens she breeds, check out our Cage & Raven on Facebook @ Serval Siblings Cage & Raven. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61559654141483&mibextid=ZbWKwL
Dec 06, 2024 · Jason DaileyI purchased my first African Serval cat and I am so pleased with my decision to go with this breeder. Krissy Holt loves what she does and you can tell by the behavior and the quality of her cats. She educated me throughout the whole process. She made sure that I was totally prepared to bring this lovely baby home. She gave me so many nice gifts in my kittens to go bag. It was so nice to bring a kitten home and have it already litter trained. Our first night together, my kitten cuddled and purred all night.
