They get you in quickly, prices are…fair for vet prices. Doctor and staff are nice. Seems like they have some turnover so not quite sure what’s up there, but I had only good experiences. I knocked a star off because of some bureaucratic issues with a unique situation, and also they don’t do teeth cleaning for my cats. I don’t know what special equipment they need for that, and I prefer to get that done with other procedures that require anesthesia so it’s one and done. Solid little place. Serviceable if you’re looking for a vet.

Welcome to Animal Wellness Clinic of Troy

Animal Wellness Clinic of Troy, located at 1701 Rochester Rd, Troy, MI 48083, USA, is a Pet Hospital serving the local community. You can contact them at (248) 524-0500 or their mobile number +1 248-524-0500 to inquire about their services and schedule appointments. Based on the available customer reviews, experiences at this clinic appear to be somewhat varied, indicating a need for potential local users to consider different perspectives when making decisions about their pet's care.

Information regarding the specific environment of Animal Wellness Clinic of Troy is limited in the provided reviews. One positive aspect mentioned is that they "get you in quickly," which could suggest an efficient appointment system aimed at minimizing wait times. However, a contrasting review describes an experience of waiting in an exam room for 20 minutes while a doctor had a personal phone call with an open door, which might indicate a lack of privacy or disruption at times. Additionally, the same review noted the presence of "dog hair all over the exam table and scale," raising concerns about the cleanliness and hygiene of the examination areas. These conflicting accounts suggest that the environment might not be consistently maintained to a high standard.

The services offered at Animal Wellness Clinic of Troy seem to cover general veterinary needs, but there are specific limitations mentioned. Based on the reviews, the services likely include:

  • General Medical Examinations: The reviews mention consultations and auscultation of heart and lung sounds, indicating that they provide routine check-ups and diagnostic assessments.
  • Vaccinations and Preventative Care: While not explicitly stated, it is a standard expectation for a Pet Hospital to offer vaccinations and advice on preventative care measures for pets.
  • Treatment of Illnesses and Minor Injuries: The fact that clients bring their "sick dogs" to the clinic implies they offer treatment for various health issues.
  • Surgical Procedures (Implied): Procedures requiring anesthesia are mentioned in the context of a desire for combined teeth cleaning, suggesting they may offer some level of surgical services, although the specifics are not detailed.

However, it is important to note the limitations mentioned in the reviews:

  • Lack of Dental Cleaning for Cats: One reviewer specifically states that the clinic does not offer teeth cleaning services for cats, which could be a significant drawback for cat owners seeking comprehensive care at one location.
  • Potential Bureaucratic Issues: A one-star deduction in a review was attributed to "some bureaucratic issues with a unique situation," indicating potential challenges in handling non-standard cases or administrative processes.

The features of Animal Wellness Clinic of Troy, as perceived by the reviewers, present a mixed picture:

  • Quick Appointments (Potentially): One positive review mentions getting in quickly, suggesting efficient scheduling at times. However, this is contrasted by a significant waiting period reported in another review.
  • Fair Prices (Relative to Vet Costs): One reviewer noted that the prices are "fair for vet prices," which might be an important consideration for budget-conscious pet owners, although it's acknowledged that veterinary care can generally be expensive.
  • Nice Doctor and Staff (Generally): Several reviewers describe the doctor and staff as "nice," contributing to a positive interpersonal experience for some clients. However, one review details a highly unprofessional interaction with a specific doctor.
  • Potential Staff Turnover: A reviewer mentioned "some turnover" among the staff, which could lead to inconsistencies in care or the building of long-term relationships with a consistent veterinary team.
  • Inconsistent Professionalism: One detailed negative review raises serious concerns about a specific doctor's professionalism, including having a personal phone call during an appointment, perceived uncleanliness of exam areas, questioning client decisions within earshot, and making inappropriate and presumptive remarks about a pet's background. This highlights a significant potential drawback for some clients.
  • Serviceable for Basic Needs: One reviewer described the clinic as a "Solid little place. Serviceable if you’re looking for a vet," suggesting it might be adequate for routine or less complex veterinary needs, but perhaps not exceptional or comprehensive for all situations.

The provided reviews do not contain any information regarding promotional offers, discounts for new clients, or wellness plans that Animal Wellness Clinic of Troy might offer. It is common for veterinary practices to have such initiatives to attract clients or provide cost-effective care packages. Local users interested in potential promotions should contact the clinic directly to inquire.

In conclusion, Animal Wellness Clinic of Troy in Troy, MI, presents a mixed profile based on the available customer reviews. While some clients have reported positive experiences with quick appointments, fair prices, and a generally nice staff, there are notable concerns raised about staff turnover, bureaucratic issues, the lack of dental cleaning for cats, and, most significantly, a detailed account of unprofessional behavior from one of the veterinarians. This negative review highlights potential issues with appointment management, clinic cleanliness, communication, and client interaction that prospective local users should be aware of. The clinic might be "serviceable" for some basic veterinary needs, but the inconsistencies and negative experiences reported suggest that local pet owners might want to weigh these factors carefully against the convenience of the location and the generally perceived fairness of prices. It is recommended that potential new clients consider these varied perspectives and perhaps seek clarification on the clinic's policies and standards before entrusting them with their pet's care. Contacting the clinic directly to discuss their specific needs and address any concerns raised by these reviews would be a prudent step for local users.

Gosh where to start. We arrived on time for a 3pm appointment, with two tiny pups, and were placed in a room to listen to the doctor have a personal phone call on the other side of an open door for 20 minutes. Awkward. Dog hair all over the exam table and scale. Disgusting. I know dogs shed, but sick dogs are often brought to the vet, no? A simple spray bottle of natural cleaner and paper towel goes a long way. We also told the tech what treatment we did and did not want, and we heard the doc question our decision on the other side of said open door 😂 (ps- I have a background in animal medicine and am able to make an informed decision regarding the care of my pet). It is now 3:25pm and the vet graces us with her presence, where she takes one of our two pups and begins auscultating heart and lung sounds while continuing to talk. What is so important to say that she can’t wait and speak after performing a thorough exam? She tells us (TELLS US) that because we rescued dogs from a local rescue/foster that were originally born in Indiana, they must be from an Amish puppy mill. I can’t make this up. Rude, inappropriate, even if this is common, it is not the way you address clientele. I have visited this clinic in the past with my previous pup that lived a long and healthy life, also a rescue, but there was a different vet there at the time. Now if you love this place, this review is not to dissuade you from continuing. I really hope the staff reads this and makes changes accordingly, and that the doctor learns how to interact with and address visitors. She was a redhead, is she the normal vet on staff? Not sure, I expressed my disgust and walked out without receiving treatment. Do better.

Super affordable and great employees/vets! My breeder brought my puppy here so we just kept the same vet, he is super comfortable and even excited to go in any time he has an appointment. I’ve had experiences with both vets and they are both great. Have been going for 2 years now, and will continue to use as my vet for all future pets :)

I took a kitten I found in because I decided to keep it. I called another vet prior to coming here but they were booked. This clinic is a tiny bit away from me, but it was truly worth it. The ladies at the vet were very nice & knowledgeable. They were thorough with it's first visit & explained everything I needed to know very clearly. They are so efficient without consuming your time unnecessarily. You can tell they truly love animals! I am actually really thankful to have been recommended here, the drive is totally worth it for the quality of service, animal & customer! I absolutely recommend myself!
