Getting in was easy. The wait was long but understandable due to critical circumstances of other pets. Everyone was very friendly and patient with our dog Ava. The doctor was willing to try a less expensive alternative for a few days instead of Just pushing all these tests on you. I felt they all cared about my baby Ava and not stressing her out with tests unless it was absolutely necessary. She’s feeling much better now since we were there. It’s been almost a week. Thank you !

Feb 28, 2025 · Lia BergrenExcellent experience at Animal Urgent Care! My dog, Benny, needed ER services for ingesting a good amount of chocolate. Never having needed ER services for him, I was worried about him and the care he might require. From the Vet Tech, Jennifer, to Dr. DiLorenzo, everyone was caring and compassionate, and kept us informed at every step. I was also worried about the cost of his care, but it was quite affordable. Aftercare instructions were clear, and he was back to normal the next day. Hopefully I don’t ever need ER care for a Benny again, but if I did, I’d definitely go back to Animal Urgent Care.
Mar 08, 2025 · Anna GarciaThere was something off about my 2 year-old kitty, Lucky. At first, I thought he was depressed and was on a hunger strike. He wasn't eating, being active, or affectionate like he normally was. Then he started to throw up around every 3-4 hours. I went there on a Sunday morning with Lucky. We were led into an exam room fairly quickly, which I appreciate since Lucky gets extremely scared going to the vet. It was nice we had our own space because some vets will have you wait in their lounge area around other animals that are sometimes loud, which scares Lucky even more. The paperwork wasn't too extensive either. The gal that was working the front area informed me that they had an animal on-site that was in critical condition, so there would be a wait. We waited maybe 30 or 40 minutes, but that didn't bother me. We were comfortable in the room. I talked to Dr. DiLorenzo about Lucky, and he ordered x-rays. I waited in the room, and the gal that checked me in told me there was water, coffee, and a bathroom down the hall, which was nice because I was dehydrated. The doctor spoke with me about the possibility there may be a foreign object in Lucky, but he wanted to talk to the radiologist to discuss/confirm. We discussed leaving Lucky there so they could re-hydrate and monitor him while he waited to hear from the radiologist. There was nothing in Lucky, which was a relief. Eventually, I took him home and was given instructions to follow. The vomiting started again, and I took him back the next morning. There was no additional exam fee because it was within 24 hours, which is another relief. Dr. Graves examined Lucky this time and asked a lot of questions & took notes, which I appreciate. She gave Lucky an anti-nausea shot and put some subcutaneous thing in him for hydration. She gave me a prescription for kitty food, and I took him home because my son doesn't do well in new places. Eventually, I had to force feed him baby food with a syringe, which he hated every moment of, but it helped him get his energy back. He was able to keep down the food and is doing much better. Lucky just requires I spoon feed him now. 🫠 The pic of him laying down was when he was sick. The second one was when he recovered. I am so thankful Lucky is okay, and I have an urgent care facility for my kitties. I hope I don't have to come here again, but it's reassuring knowing this 24-hour facility is super close to my home. The facility is clean, there's plenty of parking, and they accept Care Credit. Thank you to Dr. DiLorenzo, Dr. Graves and the staff that helped care for my shy boy, Lucky!
Mar 07, 2025 · Leslie ClawsonI have been taking my diabetic dog here for years now when urgent problems come up. Every Vet there has been fantastic and taken excellent care of my dog. They have saved my Dogs life several times. On one occasion, we thought we were going to have to put her down due to declining health and they diagnosed her with Cushing’s disease. A lab test confirmed it, she went on medication and she Improved immediately. I would not take my dog to any other urgent care if I can help it. They really care about animals. I could not recommend them more.
Feb 09, 2025 · Tamria JonesI dreaded going back as I lost a pet there many many years ago... over 15 years and wasn't treated very well. I was told to leave and I couldn't wait in the car park. I left and went home to Valley Center... two hours later, my dog died. I should've been allowed to stay so I could be near her. They were horrible. And I knew the Dr and staff there as I had worked with them in previous hospitals. But things change and so do the people who work there, thankfully. I moved from Escondido shortly thereafter and was using another ER in Encinitas for over 11 years. I'm now back in the area so this has become my nearest ER again. The experience was great. They accommodated my anxiety and werevery quick, thankfully they weren't too busy to do this. My dog had ripped a nail out and they were very quick in seeing her. Dr Greenfield was very nice too. Thank you.
