I took my dog in for a leg injury and the staff was amazing! They were quick, caring, explained everything in detail, answered my million questions, and not once made me feel not heard or rushed despite having a waiting room full of other animals. I have no doubt that Avery treated my dog Pixie like she was her own and Dr. Roderick was so patient answering all my questions, some not even related to the injury but other health issues my dog is having. Thank you guys for your hard work and dedication!

The very name, "Animal Urgent Care," highlights their specialization in providing timely care for non-life-threatening but serious conditions that arise suddenly. This distinguishes them from a regular veterinary clinic, which primarily handles routine appointments and preventative care. As a "Pet Hospital," they possess the necessary infrastructure and expertise to diagnose and treat a wide array of acute pet health issues, ensuring pets receive attention when their regular veterinarian might be unavailable.

Environment

Animal Urgent Care of Bentonville emphasizes a "newly designed, cutting-edge facility" equipped to handle urgent and emergency cases. The environment of an urgent care veterinary clinic is critical; it needs to be efficient, organized, and capable of managing potentially stressed animals and worried owners. Key aspects of such an environment typically include:

  • Modern and Clean Facilities: A state-of-the-art facility implies advanced equipment and a sterile environment crucial for medical procedures and preventing the spread of illness. Cleanliness also contributes significantly to a calming atmosphere for pets and their owners.
  • Comfortable Waiting Area: Despite the urgent nature, a well-designed waiting room can help reduce anxiety. While specific details aren't provided, reviews indicate that despite a "waiting room full of other animals," staff manage to prevent a rushed feeling, suggesting a well-organized flow.
  • Dedicated Treatment and Diagnostic Areas: For urgent care, quick access to diagnostic tools like X-ray and ultrasound machines, as well as an in-house lab, is paramount. This necessitates specialized rooms or sections within the facility for these functions.
  • Compassionate and Calm Atmosphere: Especially in urgent situations, a professional yet compassionate environment helps both pets and their human companions feel more at ease. The staff's ability to be "caring" and "patient" as mentioned in reviews, even when busy, speaks volumes about the atmosphere they cultivate.
  • Accessibility: Being a "premier walk-in facility" implies ease of access when unforeseen pet health issues arise, contributing to the overall convenience for pet owners in distress.
Services

Animal Urgent Care of Bentonville offers an extensive array of veterinary services tailored to address urgent and immediate pet health needs. Their services are designed to bridge the gap between routine veterinary care and full-blown emergency hospitals, focusing on conditions that require prompt attention but may not be immediately life-threatening. Key services typically include:

  • Urgent Care Triage and Examination: Rapid assessment of a pet's condition to determine the severity and prioritize treatment. This involves a thorough physical examination.
  • In-House Diagnostics: Critical for quick diagnoses, this includes:
    • Radiography (X-rays): For evaluating skeletal injuries, foreign bodies, and conditions of the chest and abdomen.
    • Ultrasound: Provides real-time imaging of internal organs to detect abnormalities.
    • Laboratory Testing: In-house blood tests (CBC, chemistry panels), urinalysis, and fecal exams for rapid results to guide treatment.
  • Minor Surgery: Addressing non-complex surgical needs such as laceration repair, wound care, removal of certain foreign bodies, and other minor surgical procedures. For more complicated or extensive surgeries requiring overnight care, they often recommend referral to a full-service emergency hospital or general practice.
  • Pain Management: Crucial for alleviating discomfort caused by injuries, illnesses, or post-operative recovery.
  • Gastrointestinal Concerns: Treating vomiting, diarrhea, and other digestive issues.
  • Respiratory Issues: Addressing coughing, sneezing, and breathing difficulties.
  • Urinary Tract Problems: Diagnosing and treating conditions like UTIs, as highlighted in one of the reviews.
  • Dermatological Issues: Managing skin conditions, allergies, and ear infections.
  • Injury Treatment: Caring for cuts, scrapes, wounds, limping, and other non-critical injuries. One review specifically mentioned a dog taken in for a leg injury.
  • Fluid Therapy: Administering intravenous fluids for dehydration or to support organ function.
  • Stabilization for Transfer: For severe cases beyond their scope, they would stabilize the pet before transferring to a 24-hour emergency or specialty hospital.

The reviews consistently highlight their approach to care: "very knowledgeable," "caring with our girl," and ensuring to "check with us first before doing any procedures and the cost of each one." This indicates a commitment to informed consent and transparency, which is highly valued by pet owners, especially in urgent situations.

We had to take our dog in after she started showing signs of being very sick. It was after hours and I googled and found Bentonville urgent care. They were very knowledgeable, caring with our girl. They were sure to check with us first before doing any procedures and the cost of each one. They called us the next day to check on our girl. We will definitely use them again. Very satisfied.

We lost my family's chihuahua here at AUC a couple weeks ago. The doctor was thorough with his labs and scans, explaining them well and answering questions. The staff were kind and empathetic about our little guy, and gentle as we had to let him pass. They sent us a card recently for condolences as well which was sweet. Additionally, to my knowledge of comparing online, the cost of services here were relatively fair or affordable compared to average estimates.

They were very quick to respond to my phone call and answered my question right away. When I went in to have my pet seen, I waited no more than 3 minutes. They were very compassionate and attentive to my pet AND me. Very knowledgeable people that will work with you and your pets needs. They explained the situation and made sure my pet was fully taken care of and that I didn't need to worry. I will come to them (hopefully not in the near future, sorry 😬) for ANY of my pet's urgent care needs. Also, the waiting area has snacks, drinks, and coffee. Thank you again, guys. You saved my furchild AND me.

Had to come here recently, late in the evening when nothing else was open, and Emily was such a help! Took care of us and our dog while walking us through each step and explained everything in depth. Absolutely adored her! Always recommend this place to friends and family!
